One of only three cars built in Australia in recent memory, the others being the Mitsubishi Diamante and the Pontiac GTO.

Diamante's built in Oz? Interesting. There are loads of them here. I'll have to tell my Aussie workmate.

BMW makes motorcycles alright, but it's an old car I can't recognize, looking similar to a 2002. 1702, if I remember the badge.

STS-V with Tennessee plates, I wasn't aware anyone outside the Detroit area bought these.

They're over here in West Michigan too, but I've seen more CTS-Vs than anything else this way. Oddly enough, there are a lot of women here in Grand Rapids who drive them. The thought of a woman operating a T-56 is oddly attractive...

I'll give you the Dimante, as my friends did burn to the ground with an electrical fire... But the GTO? No way. That was one of GM's best cars in the last decade, bar-none, and indeed is the car we have to thank for brining affordable RWD products back to The General.

I wasn't giving any opinions as to the quality of the vehicles mentioned (for the record, I'm fond of all three), just stating that they were manufactured in Australia.

His point, I believe, is that 'Beemer' is typically used to describe BMW's motorcycles, while 'Bimmer' is the term for cars. However you'll see more people using the former to describe both and the latter to describe neither - technically incorrect.

I wasn't sure. I had assumed based on Casio's description of 'crappy car.' I couldn't remember if you had seriously liked or disliked the GTO, as I do recall having an argument with someone about the car before... I may be getting you confused for a moment with a fellow on GMI...

I'm still waiting for prices to drop-out on the GTO. For me to get what I want (2004 LS1-powered GTO in purple with the T56) would be about $18K, not horrible, but not great either. We'll see what the G8 does to prices, as I'm also anticipating having prices drop on 4th Gen Camaros when the new Zeta model hits the streets next year...

Are you kidding? Sewell has managed to outsell any of their CTS-Vs with the STS-V. It's hard to find the STS-V on the lots because most of them are already bought.

i saw a couple of nice convertibles too today.

Lotus elan:

Never seen one of these this close up or parked, theyre always on the move so i just had to take a better look.
In the first pic you can see my new megane and the house with the red door is my girlfriends place.

Went for a little drive while we were still deciding what we were going to do for the day and i spotted this.
DB7 Convertible:

It warranted a U-turn, and the great thing is the missus doesnt mind me stopping to look at / photograph cars :D

Edit: btw sphinx, get a polarising filter ;) (that is if you were using an SLR, looks like it from the reflection. :))

Yep, a Nikon D50.

Thanks for the advice. 👍

is that speedster really a replica? if so how do you tell because thats got to be the best replica I've ever seen

I don't know for sure, I'm assuming it is seeing that RHD Speedsters are like rocking horse poo. :)

Well the last two days, I have seen a Smart on a dealership lot on my drive home from work. The first time I saw it, I had to think about it for a minute on what it was. Then it dawned on me that it is a Smart. I had not known they were being sold here or any of them were here in the States.

I also saw a Aston Martin X . . . I mean Jaguar XKR. I get the two cars confused from the side profile.

I stumbled on to a Chrysler photoshoot thing of their concept cars at Cranbrook, a local rich kid school and museum center. I acted like I was supposed to be there and they didn't really seem to be bothered that I was snapping pictures.

I'm not sure what that old car was, I didn't want to over stay my welcome there.

The rest of today:

No offense, but it's only funny when you call the Aston Martin a Jaguar. Vice Versa and you're giving the Jaguar a little too much credit.

Just my opinion, don't shoot me. :scared:

Meh it's not really funny either way, but when you've been out in the sun all day long you get a bit stupid.
