What in hell is an Ion doing in the same parking lot as two Arnages, a Maserati and a 5er?

Ion is a rental - the restaurant was hosting a function and the valets were having a tough time moving all the cars; it was there simply in the interim. Later a Continental GT moved into the Ion's spot permanently, but we know how I feel about them.

For the record, the question should've been, 'What's a 5-series doing in the same...'

:D

I call the 456GT Estate!

Unforunately for you and the others, many of the cars are gone. The Dauers have all made it to various places (although the full carbon w/ yellow stripes Dauer is for sale. I'll try and refind it).

But all the 456GT models are gone. As far as I know, every Estate has made its way to to the U.K.
Edit*
Here's the Dauer for sale.

Is a Chevy Impala SS a rare car? I'm talking about the 90s one.

Just saw one today. It was in excellent condition, looked shiny and nice. Haven't seen one before. It was a very long car though, I'd have a tough time driving one I think, especially parking. :scared:

Also, how much is the Dauer 962? :dopey:

They didn't build very many, so they're kinda rare. Depending on the year, they eventually offered more colors other than black, and I believe the green models were the most-rare (my uncle had one, and I nearly bought it).

Its probably one of my favorite GM products of all time, but to most folks they aren't anything special. Take a Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 from the era, throw on a few fancy trim pieces and add a leather interior, and you've got yourself an SS (in a nutshell).

Still, going 0-60 in the six second range (or was it closer to seven seconds?), having a top-speed north of 150 MPH, and having more than enough room to haul five people comfortably is just plain awesome.

A simple answer is 'no' - they are quite common in relative terms to vehicles that are actually rare. In 1994, over six thousand were made; in 1995, over 20,000 were made, and in 1996 (when two new colors, dark red and dark green, were added), over 40,000 were made, meaning nearly 70,000 were built.

This would be true even if you were talking in general terms...

It's raising itself on the jacks to level out the crane. A level surface makes it not only easier to control, but much safer.

I think his point is that with a larger crane you could probably park the whole thing on the level street and then just maneuver from there (because the arm would be bigger) without having to park half of it on the inclining front yard and half like three feet above the pavement.

However, I'm also certain that the city wouldn't issue permits for a crane any larger than that one in my neighborhood. I know I'd complain; I can't imagine what the old people would do. Perhaps bake things just to throw at the construction workers.

Thank you for clarification. The one I saw was the dark red one. It's the first one I've seen over here, so it's "somewhat" rare for this town. I liked the car for sure, but too big for my tastes.

I also saw an older Porsche 911 today, the 80s type I think. Was the targa one, commonly referred to as Porsche Speedster, or something like that. I believe this car was featured in the movie Commando if some of you remember. Nice looking car.

M5Power, looking forward to more pictures from you. Seem to be a lot of nice cars in your city.

Compare that 70K to the amount of Caprices turned-out between '91-'96, and its a small-ish number. But, like he said, I'd bank on the fact that there are more in the US than there are in Canada. Still, it isn't as though every other car is an Impala SS in the States either...

The good news is, if you're a cheap-ass like me, you can buy a 9C1 Chevrolet Caprice and get yourself what amounts to an Impala SS after swapping the wheels and the front grille. Sweet.

Stay tuned for a McLaren F1 spot on Saturday, granted it's in a dealership near the Marble Arch in London, but I'm going to get it anyways since I've never seen one in person. They had a Wismann roadster and a new Europa in there today, I got a picture but I left my camera in one of the girls rooms and she's asleep so I'll post the pictures later.

Where in marble arch?

I wanna go!!

Marble Arch is a tube stop, it's next to Hyde Park I believe, here is the picture from the other day.

You can barely see the back end of the McLaren off to the right, it's white.

I think it was a triumph spitfire following a 440 charger. Could you get any more of the opposite spectrum in one picture?!?!

There's also a new Europa in there as well. Not a very common site.

This was in my villages industrial estate.

wouldnt expect that in this area. was a customer at an exhaust fitter.

I thought they were common in Europe?

Maybe, but they're a rarity in the U.S.

BTW Joey, that dealer is LondonLotus. And if you didn't know, it's also an authorized TVR Dealership (plus Land Rover and Jaguar). And according to the Lotus inventory, there's also a black on black wheels Exige.

But now, here's the good and bad news. The white car in the back is not a McLaren. However, it is a Mosler MT900 S worth $206,809.93.

:guilty: I thought it was a McLaren, oh well, I'm still going to take a picture tomorrow when I get there. From the bus it looked like one for sure.
