I don't think he was saying that. I think he was saying that having Superleggeras on the Gallardo would be cooler.

And why would it be cooler? Because it matches the name? Oh, that'd be great. Then even more people would think it's named after the rims instead of a translation that makes more sense.

I'm sorry, but I've had to explain this several times before on other websites, and it gets a bit frustrating getting folks to understand that the car's name means superlightweight, which is given due to its drop in weight over the base.

Well, no, actually. I personally think it would be cooler because I think Superleggeras (or any similar wheel) would look better on the Superleggera than what is actually on it. The name would only show irony. Maybe VashTheStampede thinks differently, but I'm not speaking for him.

So? What difference does that make? Their ignorance only directly affects you if you make it do so. In any case, wouldn't it being named after rims in essence make it a translation anyways? Isn't super light weight what the rims are named after too?

2 from today: a new Ford Thunderbird and a Skoda Octavia police car, unmarked. It's the first Thunderbird I've seen outside a show, and only about the 3rd I've ever seen at all.

Spots today...

456-071107.jpg

Ferrari 456 - only the third I have ever seen, and the only one I have ever seen in Colorado (though to be fair - I saw this particular one 13 months ago too).

db7_volante-071107.jpg

Aston-Martin DB7 Volante - with the supercharged straight six. Nearly all my DB7 spots are Vantages - 12-cylinder models. This is just the second six-cylinder I've ever seen. Florida temporary plates.

348ts-071107.jpg

Ferrari 348ts. See it all the time.

nsx-071007.jpg

One-owner NSX.

flying_spur-071007.jpg

Flyin' Spur. Texas plates.

Thought you guys might get a kick out of that one.

I pretty much feel the same way. I personally like the Superleggeras a whole lot, especially the black ones. Yes, as far as I know, the wheels are named after superlightweight also.

I have probably 15-20 on my cell phone that I need to transfer to my computer, though I first need to buy a cable for it so I can connect it to my computer. I have some pictures from a car show on the 4th of July at a local park. A couple Shelby Cobra kit cars (pretty neat), two Fiat 500s (both with Oklahoma plates), a brand new Saleen S281 (#104 of 150 for the year), an Eleanor replica, a Plymouth Duster (not something I see very often), AAR 'Cuda (maybe a badge job?), and a couple other things. I also saw a 993 today and got a picture of it. Whenever I get around to getting a cable for my phone, I will post them.

Unfortunately I don't have a photo, but a couple days ago I saw a Ferrari 360 spyder with some body panel modifications to it and a big wing on the back. It looked very mutilated. :scared:

I also recently saw a Ford F-150 "Harley Davidson edition" or something like that. Had harley-like rims. It was a mountain of a car like most new trucks are.

Nice spotting on the S63 AMG. Never seen one before. I saw several S500, S550 and S600 (the new one) when I was in europe recently, but not the AMG yet. A nice car.

I was just walking back into work 10 minutes ago when I heard a loud rumbling engine at idle. When I looked up... Well this is what I saw. Un-be-liev-a-ble! An F40! In white! Just sitting there at the traffic lights. Got a (bad) video too but can't put it on YT yet.

Video (Speakers up to 11 please!)

Great spot 👍 - F40's look good in white. Even the black painted wheels look alright. Nice to see one in the wild!

Yeah, too right! I wonder how many white F40s there are in existence. I think it was a factory colour - 'Pure White'. I think a few exist in Japan. I wonder if it was imported from across the water. It carries dealer plates because it's left hand drive and like I've said in other posts, you can't register a LHD car privately in HK.

Hey look, I found three pictures of the very same car on a blog post titled 'Colori insoliti? Bianco Ferrari' basically 'Is white and insulting colour for a Ferrari' - I'm saying NO!

I wonder if it's the same as this car?

it would appear that the Sultan of Brunai has a white one too. As well as this.... interesting coloured RHD one:

I knew that F40 looked familiar. That's the one the Sultan's brother, Jefri, owned.

After it was sold, the current owner had it completely restored.

And TheCracker, the Sultan doesn't own that F40 anymore either. In fact, in 1998 Jefri and the Sultan's businesses went down the tube. For the past 4 years, bankers have been very quietly selling off the collection.

I thought it probably wasn't his anymore, Talacrest are UK based classic Ferrari dealer. I have noticed there's been a lot of Ex-Sultan cars up for sale in the classic car mags i get recently.

Yep. Jefri isn't allowed to drive most of his cars anymore after his company blew up and his relations with his brother declined. The sons continue to get a lot of cars though none of them as rare as Jefri's.

Stay tuned for a McLaren F1 spot on Saturday, granted it's in a dealership near the Marble Arch in London, but I'm going to get it anyways since I've never seen one in person. They had a Wismann roadster and a new Europa in there today, I got a picture but I left my camera in one of the girls rooms and she's asleep so I'll post the pictures later.
