I'd take one of these over a ZO6 in a billionth of a nanosecond (a new time measurement :D). Who cares if its ONLY 4.3s to 62mph--pff--if that ain't quick enough for ya you need a lobotomy.

Mercs have the best black paint in the world too by the way. When I got through waxing this thing with a high grade wax it looked like it was still wet. I want my Camaro and Prelude to be this color.

I'd have to give it some thought against a Z06...actually, the rarity for one of these is higher here, so I'd def. go with the CLS63.

But isn't your Camaro black? You'd be halfway there. :D

Spots today...

Anything you can do, I can do better! Actually not really, since a Prowler spotted in the UK far and away trumps one spotted in the States...

The CLS63 has a level of class and dignity that the Corvette lacks. The Vette is all about uncompromising performance--and while that in itself is brilliant--I want the best of both worlds. Turn the traction control off (or at least what you THINK is off) and any AMG turns into a beast of epic proportions.

My Camaro is spray paint black. SPRAY PAINT FTW!

Oh, and M5 that pretty red Merc trumps that Lamborghini for me. ;)

well the Hartge website doesn't show any of the options I saw on this particular car, but the badge is definitely the same. That must be one monster once you open it up...

Thats a hard one for me. I love my AMG cars, but obviously I love my 'Vettes as well. Dollar-for-dollar, the Vette makes more sense, particularly when it too can be used as a daily-driver and average fuel economy in the low/mid 20s.

Problem is, I lust for the 600/65-series cars, so if it were say, an SL600 versus the 'Vette, it would be very tough indeed...

lets not forget the s / cl 65s that will let you carry lots of stuff while going very very fast

Certainly so! The S600 is about as good as good gets when it comes to luxury motoring.

My dream has always been to set the auto-cruise to 120 MPH and pull out of traffic to have the car catapult itself out of the lane and into infinity while the other cars seem to stand in place.

yeah :indiff: unfortunately the S65 I occasionally park my car next to at the dealership doesn't seem to be able to teach my car how to do that... I mean c'mon they're cousins. Maybe I just need to leave it over night 💡

Sir, I invite you to partake in the CLS godliness just once. I too prefered the S-class to the CLS. That time has come and gone. The CLS--and more correctly the CLS63 AMG is one awsome machine. It just may replace my CL65 AMG lust--well maybe not.

Oh, and the SL and CL trump the Corvette by millions of miles for me. I'd rather own a regula-ass (my new word today) SL500 than a Corvette. Hell, give me an SL350 over the C6. Yes, I'm still sane and breathing. There's nothing like going very quickly (AMG) AND having a quiet and luxurious interior. Something with nothing from GM can offer...minus the previous CTS-V which was pretty decent.

Oh, don't worry, I caught a lot of flak for being an early-adapter to the CLS. Now that all my friends like them, I laugh, and remind them of who liked it first. Problem is, I like the big S better... For some reason, I've always liked HUGE cars.

I'd say an SL550 would sit pretty close to the Corvette in terms of what I'd want, but then I'd see the sticker prices, and then I would realize that I could have both a Z06 and a G8 GT, and we all know what I'd pick then...

The S550 is $88K, $18 Grand more than the Corvette. I doubt GM is going to price the G8 base even at $18,000. It's the S63 and S65 AMGs that you could buy both the Z06 and G8 GT with.

But, the S63 and S65 are in a totally different level. The S65 AMG is the cheap man's Maybach while retaining its resale value, and the S63 AMG is a sedan who's got the power to trump 95% of whatever drives on the George Bush Tollway. Trust me. The S63 is fast as nails.

While true, I've never seen an SL550 for anywhere near $88K. Maybe its just the dealers around here, but almost every one I've seen was well-over $100K, hence my statement.

Problem is, the S63 lacks to important numbers:

604 BHP

738 lb-feet of torque

Yes, the price difference is outrageous, but I'd even settle for a "mundane" S600 over the S63. I just want a twin-turbo V12...

I like how the new 6.2L Merc V8 is producing some awsome power naturally aspirated. That means with forced induction it will be even more awsome. The new 63 series AMG models are going to be some serious competition now in the German power wars. Now if only MB could solve the traction control issues--as in being able to completely turn them off--it would be ok.

The S-class doesn't seem that much larger (or longer) than the CLS. The CLS just has a sloping roof that reduces head room in the back. Otherwise I'd say they are very similar in size. But, I'd be happy to see some official interior volume numbers.

But, thats the thing. You get what you pay for between these cars. The Corvette is fast--the Merc is fast AND comfortable+luxurious. Its really a rather simple equasion for me.

Well....I saw a Veyron the other day. It was yummy.....

Not my picture but still it was the Veyron I saw....on the runway at the same place...hang on that guy was stood infront of me....

I take it that was from
top gear filming

I saw you write the Big S, and thought that's what you were talking about.

The SL550 is $96K, but I still can't see GM selling the G8 GT at $30,000.

The G8 GT is supposed to start in the mid/high $20K range, but my guess sticks it right at about $30K even... Just like the Dodge Charger R/T.

You know what, guys? They place cars in shopping malls and have contests. You could win the car. Here in Dayton they used to have an Infiniti M35 in the mall.

In Atlanta they have Aston Martin V8 Vantages...

Yeah, and they're awful contests. If you don't win, you get folks calling you for crap. If you do win, you have to agree to stupid rules.

So they still have the stupid telemarketers whether the prize be an Aston or a Nissan? Nuts.

Yesterday and the day before that I saw a black AMV8 going down a back street as I wait at my HS for a bus. Maybe Monday or sometime next week I will see it again and get a picture of it.

I've never seen Astons for a contest, but even with XKRs, there's still folks who are trying to sell something. I wouldn't mind winning such a vehicle though, but there's a lot of BS terms and "disclosed", or in a better term, payments you don't know about til' you win that you have to agree to.

yesterday i saw this jaguar s-type that i complained about the rear leg room.

my brother laughed at me and said that if you could afford the car in the first place you can afford to have bad leg room which i countered with if you could afford the car you could afford a car with more leg room.

With which I countered "Run On Sentence!".
Oh, and grammar. Bad, bad grammar.

Try a little harder next time, eh?
Much appreciated.
