Nice spots Doug. What happened to the font lip of the 328? Got knocked off ploughing snow?!

My spots of this afternoon.

I have decided not to take photos of Bentleys or Rolls-Royces now as there are just too many of them and I'll probably end up repeating spots. I'll still take pics of ones I think I haven't seen before though.

Also I never usually take photos of Porsche 911's as there are sooo many if them too. However in the GTP Scavenger Hunt this week, one of the categories was 'Quickest 911' and it seemed that every versio of contemporary 911 wanted to have a pop at it including an absolute shedload of black 997 Turbos (I think they are all different). Check out the 993 Targa that the owner turned into a GT2 lookalike even down to the bolt-on wheelarches and badge. Shame nobody told him that there was no GT2 Targa and not a GT2 even in that colour.

The spot of the day though has to be that 'Vette. I've never seen a Corvette in Hong Kong and this one certainly made up for it!

I've also done my best to not take photos of cars that I am sure I have posted before, so I think that most of these are all new spots for me.

Okay, onto the photos and in order of appearance...

As always, if you want a large size image of any pics, just ask! The image quality of the small ones didn't come out so well, but the big ones are waaayyy better.

chaser_fan: could I have a large version of the Phantom picture? Any size, I'm not fussy. Thanks!

I went up to London yesterday by coach on a work trip for our Christmas dinner (came back today). Once we entered London, I adopted the "car spotter meerkat" pose - sitting as high as possible (in the centre seat on the back row), camera ready to go. Apoligies for the bad quality of the Vanquish and R8 photos; bumpy coach + dirty windows + rushed shots = not good. Missed a Jag E type and a new V8 Vantage too.

Aston Martin Vanquish. Only shot I got of it; it spent most of the time hidden behind our second coach.

Bentley Mulliner something or other, parked outside the hotel we stayed in. Any ideas?

Audi R8. First I've seen on the road, hence its presence here.

Merc 190E 2.3-16 at a supermarket near home. Is this one of the rare ones?

- Porsche 996 GT3
- Honda NS-X
- Corvette (Can somebody tell me which model?)

The Corvette is a C4, which ran from '84 to '96. It looks like a later version of the C4. Not a special model or anything, but still probably quite rare in your area!

chaser_fan, your spots are fantastic! I'm back in snowy Colorado for a month, so I'll have to live vicariously through you until I can get back to Atlanta!

Bentley Arnage Mulliner. The Arnage is rare in itself, but a full Mulliner model (which that one is) is pretty uncommon - I've seen only a couple.

I saw this very forlorn Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II in a dodgy used car yard/rental agency a couple of nights ago.

What a great photo. When new, that car cost ~$20,000 US (~$26,000 NZ). However, if you account for inflation, that was $128,000 US ($169,000 NZ) back then. I bet in the 1970s, no one could've imagined that car would be in such derelict condition!

Diego is right it is a 1970's Mitsubishi Galant GTO. Clean examples are getting VERY hard to find.

Cool. Thanks a lot. I think I remember driving this in GT4.

Im starting to wonder how you see all them cars too, im guessing your at work when you see these? Liking the old school evos for sure!

Seriously, it's not hard here. I usually just go out for a couple of hours on a Friday afternoon when I'm off and I have nothing else to do. If I did it on a Sunday afternoon, you'd see some really special stuff.

Thanks for the ID Doug. Yeah American cars are really rare here. Obviously they've had to convert it to RHD and pay a whopping 100% (of the US original price) car import tax to officialy register it.

Don't worry, I'll do my upmost to keep you in the manner you are accustomed!

Sure...

Thanks. I am very tempted to buy it as it just looks so sad sitting there wanting someone to love it. It is kind of like seeing an ex-millionaire panhandling.

Hey DOUG...

I think it's an RL Mulliner.

It's not - the RL has a stretched wheelbase.

 I saw that G55 on the road the other day! And I just booked dinner reservations a block from that Cayman sighting!

Is that an Infiniti FX35 or an FX45?That's the first time that I see an Infiniti.

Impossible to tell.

Toronado
Huh wha....?! Why does it cost as much as a Jaguar XJ8?

If you build it, they will come.

Hey, I read the rules but I can't post pictures coz I don't have a camera phone and most cars I see are while I'm working anyway. But I can tell you I did see a Ford GT-40 in dark purple with chrome rims on, I suspected it may have been a replica but maybe not. This was in a reasonably small city in QLD, Australia. Believe me or not I don't care but what possinle reason could I have to lie about something like this, I've seen hundreds of rare cars another one don't make much difference. I seen a Lambourghini Murcielago in this same town too,(it was that orange colour) I work in the car park at the moment beside the 2 most heavily used roads in town, I'm bound to see things.
