I think road going Karmann Ghia's are a bit rare, I think I've maybe seen one since I started driving.

It depends on where you're looking. In the Bay Area they are very common... and often regarded as the poor man's Porsche back in the days. It is especially common in Berkeley, where I think it was often regarded as the Hippies' Porsche. :D

Aston Martin DB6.
Beautiful car that really captures the magic of the pinnacle of automotive styling from the 60's.... of which I would certainly add the *Jaguar E Type to that list as well. 👍

*Some have sold in auction for well over $100,000 so while not nearly as over priced as your common modern super car, a quality E Type is not exactly "cheap" either.

To add to the appreciation of great classic automotive styling and recent spots...

(really puts it into perspective how small the Dino was, and likely deserved the nickname, "Baby Ferrari") :)

Very nice spot Serge.D! 👍 Very beautiful car! 👍

Excellent spot!! Beautiful car 👍

Agreed, awesome spot on the Aston Serge! I love classic British cars.

Thanks guys.:)👍

I love Aston Martin. :sly:

Same for me.👍

It's absolutely disgusting. Man, I so hate what this guy does. The hot rod hobby needs to move on, it sucks lately and saying that hurts.

And the Aston, Serge, amazing spot, what are the odds of seeing one on the street?

Thanks Cano.:)👍

Today I saw this old Porsche:

But who really cares about old Porsches anyway? They're everywhere.

Awesome spot Doug.👍

Confession time!!! That is a legitimate 959 body, manufactured by Porsche, but it was placed over a 964 chassis. The owner, who is by a wide margin the nicest exotic car owner I ever met, told me he considered purchasing a real 959, but ultimately decided servicing would be hard and he would feel guilty about modifying it. He told me this one has over 600 horsepower, which I believe since he took me for a ride in it in addition to talking about it with me (btw I had met this guy MAYBE two minutes prior) and he hit some insane speeds on some mountain roads (I'm presently in Aspen btw).

Soooooo not a real 959... but close! The owner also owns a Lamborghini Countach and Diablo. He invited me to come by sometime and see what he's up to, but Aspen is farrrrr so I think the 964 959 run is as good as it'll get for now. Great experience though!

As you can tell from the 964 959, Aspen has some crazy weird crap. For example, there is a supermarket parking lot where a Lotus Esprit has been sitting under a car cover for at least three years. There are three-wheeled electric vehicles EVERYWHERE. And there are tons of crazy crap you wouldn't expect to see anywhere else. Case in point:

Yes, a legitimate Bricklin SV-1. Check out the contrast versus that A4 behind it!

Other exotics I did see today:

Also, did you change the font you print your name with?

Yeah. New computer, new font!

That Bricklin SV-1 looks awesome, like somekind of hotwheels fantasy car :D

I'm guessing a group of deer were crossing the road and that's the stag looking back to check you ain't eyeing up his doe's for dinner.

Ummm Doug, I think this is a Bricklin SV-1. Must be that thin mountain air playing with your head :D.

I think I need to go around town and take some shots of cars. It seems like every car I see jumped out of GT4 when I'm riding around town on my bike. My best friends neighbor has two Triumph Spitfires, one of which is for sale out in front of their house. I think spotted a GNX on my way to get pizza today, and there was a Montero also on the way to get pizza.

A long time ago last year, I got to see a really expensive car collection that had a Spyker in it and a few other raritys. If I can manage to borrow the camera from my dad I'll take shots of these rare/hard to find vehicles.

Tailed another R8 into the stadium car park today, not a bad sounding car!

The engine sump looks dangerously low to the ground though, wouldn't last in my area.

i went to a rod and custom drive-in, briefly, the first to be held at the beaulieu motor museum, and probably the last if they dont make changes, like forcing show goers to pay full entrance fee for the whole place when all we want is to go to the show. so like the many hopeful others we left :grumpy:
shame :indiff: saw some nice motors coming in, one i hope to see again was i think possibly a lanchester, chopped, big n littles, sounded great :D
