The Z06 also has the steeper rear window.

It's a different bodystyle. Most people don't realize it but there were actually three different C5 bodystyles: hatchback, coupe, and convertible. His is a hatchback and the Z06 was a coupe. C6 is just coupe (which has standard targa tops) and convertible (plus Z06).

That generation IS didn't come in IS350 trim as far as I know.

No.

My jaw dropped to the sidewalk. A very very cool car to see in person. It had an interesting purple color too. Sorry for the terrible cell phone pic.

Great spot!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Expect stuff over the next 3 days from me, I'm at silverstone for all 3, and inside the track on one day,

Is that one of Bruce's cars?
Looks kinda like the backlot of Fantasy Junction to me! ;)
Nice job recognizing his back lot! 👍

Here is a shot of the Dino being loaded back into the shop after my little test drive. :)

Although considering there was over five million dollars worth of cars parked along the wall in front of it, it sort of made it seem like a bargain by comparison. :D

It never seize to amaze me the cars Bruce is able to get a hold of, and how rather nonchalantly he fills them into his showroom. For instance, tucked away in one corner I found this $1.5 million dollar gem:

Yes, a genuine 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder in it's original Giallo Dino skin.

On that visit there must have been close to $50 million dollars worth of cars on the floor for sale including a $4 million 1938 Maybach Roadster.

The highlight for me though was sitting behind the wheel of Fantuzzi's 1953 Maserati A6 GCS Spyder... ahhh... to have an extra $2 million dollars sitting around with nothing better do do with itself. :)

I think back at what his old digs were like in that run down cramped 6-car garage near the end of Dwight Way in the then abandoned warehouse district in Berkeley back in the early eighties.... and now look where he is!

No wonder the guys at Pixar spend their lunch time across the street over at his garage.

Although even back then, his first garage, while limited, always had some truly amazing classic rare cars. His was the first ever Lamborghini Muira and LP400 that I had ever seen before... and as a 17 year old with the now classic LP500S Countach poster on my wall, it was an unforgettable experience... as was the sound of their engines...

Success could not find a more deserving person than Bruce, and his family. I don't think you'll ever meet a more dedicated classic road and race car enthusiast. Best of all, he is not only a very approachable man and generous with his time, but unlike many car collectors and sellers, he feels the best place for these cars is on the road and on the track and as such, he makes regular visits to Sears Point/Infineon and Laguna Seca with many of his finest and rarest cars. 👍

Whilst I was watching the F1 I managed to hear a rumble under the sound of a 2.4 v8 at 17-18000 revs, i looked around and behind on the road was a black SLR roadster with red interior flooring it away from the circuit. No photos, sorry.

I remember going to a Goodguys hotrod show a few years back and there were two T-Rex's in the parking lot. Those are some sweet-looking bikes.

Nice spot on the NSX, Alex.

It's amazing how good those AMG V8's sound. When you watch the build up to an F1 race on TV, you can always make out in the background the sound of the pace cars leaving the pits before the parade/grid formation lap.

Will you be at the GP too?

There's a 80-20 against chance that Honda can get me and my dad tickets as he works with them slightly. Thanks guys.

It is a '74 246 GTS (VIN 8430) and one of the very last Dino's ever made. Less than 1,500 GTS models were ever built, and few ever made it over to the US. This one had a premium original restoration done ten years ago including a complete engine rebuild by Forza Motors in Carmel, CA followed by a bare metal original repaint job by Jerry Graham, both of whom are arguably the best at what they do.

Since then, it's been meticulously serviced and tuned by none other than Norbert Hofer himself. A couple years ago he rebuilt the steering rack & pinion assembly and installed a new stainless Tubi exhaust system.

It has been fitted with original Michelin XWX tires with less than 5,000 miles on them.

It's a true gem, and close to concourse condition. 👍

If this car is from the bay area, then i know the owner; he is my dad's boss.:)

Looks to be a real one serge, quad exhausts and everything else seems right. As bizarre as it may seem, it could still be just a Z3 coupe though....some people will go too far to replicate something like that. I'll take some photos of a BMW "M3" in my area later, you'll find them in the Q-mod thread.

Ford Racing Puma

Always good when I see one, because they're one of my favourite cars. Unfortunately, the owner of this one had garnished the car with nasty blue tinted repeaters, a crappy steering wheel cover, all sorts of stuff hanging from the rear-view mirror and cuddly toys on the dashboard.

Methinks the owner is more suited to the standard Puma...
