The driver didn't floor it though...wimpy
They never do. But I guess if they floored it every time someone wanted to see them let it out, they'd be doing it pretty often.

It went past too quickly to get a picture or a video, but I saw a Blue, convertible Lamborghini Countach today. Wow, did that baby sing. What an engine noise.
They made a convertible Countach?

Lucky M5. There's been a few times where if I get close to take pictures, I'm told to go away. But doing it from a distance never seems to hurt.
Hell, I've been accused of being a terrorist or car stealer cause I took pictures.
Maybe you have that terrorist look.
Actually I frequently encounter that school of thought from people whom I tell that one of my hobbies is photographing cool cars. I suppose if I ever get stopped and asked about it by an authority figure, I'll just talk his ear off about the car in question - that should suffice to alleviate any concerns.

I just noticed in this picture you caught the front corner of a Evolution VIII, you see them too often now to post as a sighting?
Yeah - they're common enough here to disregard them - I see one every two to three days. I still smile and stare whenever I see one, but considering that everyone else on here has had the vehicle in their market for years, I don't post pictures of them. WRX STi is a bit rarer - three to four days between sightings - but still, no photos, and for the same reason.

About the second Z8: Would that be an Alpina V8 Roadster or a Z8?
Also, on the compass: Revel it. It is the only one you will ever see on the road.
I believe it's a standard Z8 - I drove by it a few times and noted no special badging. Furthermore, a guy in his mid-60s got into it with a similarly-aged wife, so I don't think it was the Alpina.
There is at least one Alpina Z8 in Denver though - in silver - though I haven't seen it in a long time.
That's actually the third Compass I've seen - DaimlerChrysler must like Denver for high-altitiude testing because I saw my first two with Michigan manufacturer plates and wearing no special disguise at a Colorado Rockies baseball game in late June, if you can believe it. I personally dislike it - "four-door" and "four-cylinder" don't mix with SUVs, if you ask me.

About that Z8: While I've never seen that color before, I thought the same thing about my own car. I almost got it in silver, but then I noticed a slightly darker, off-silver color. By itself, it looks silver; next to any other silver car, it looks much better, much richer, like summer storm clouds. "Crystal Gray" from 2004/2005 is the best color Subaru ever produced (555 Blue notwithstanding), and the Steel Gray it was substituted for is just bland in comparison.
What is your car? WRX?
Yesterday's sightings were interesting. I paid $3.75 to park at the Grand Prix and walk around the parking lots, and yet the most interesting car was a GMC Syclone (which, admittedly, is very interesting - for those of you who know your performance trucks). Here are some shots I took at the Grand Prix:
August 13, 2006 - Denver, Colo.
The $3.75 seemed like money wasted and so I drove home. However, on the way home, the $3.75 turned into money well spent, as this happened:
August 13, 2006 - Denver, Colo.
Notice that the guy's smiling at me. He was actually laughing. At the next light, I asked him how he liked it - he said it had been great so far and really raved about it. I personally was excited because it had California dealer plates but a Colorado temporary tag, meaning he sourced one from California and brought it here - displaying the rising supercar market here in Denver. Other shots of it:
Parked illegally before the guy got in it (8/13/06 - Denver, Colo.)
Ever wonder what a Testarossa looks like in traffic? (8/13/06 - Denver, Colo.)
In the second of those photos you can see a 240SX next to it - the kids inside it were going crazy about it. The guy driving the Ferrari was really humble and clearly not yet used to supercar ownership, as he was enjoying the photos and stares, rather than ignoring them.
The evening had sort of a BMW theme:
August 13, 2006 - Denver, Colo.
And I said I'd never photograph a new M5...
Here's an odd one:
August 13, 2006 - Denver, Colo.
We're not that close to Mexico, but we do get Mexican cars occiaisionally. This one is just odd - I think it's a Vauxhall Corsa, badged in Mexico as a "Chevy." Mexican plates from Chihuahua - that's Juarez, the city across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas, for those of you a bit slow on Mexican geography. The state that's closest to Colorado is Sonora, but cars from there are quite rare as it's much less populated.
