I want to say it's a Rolls Camargue. Never heard of that car before.

You're absolutely spot on. I had a feeling that's what it was but didn't do a GIS for some reason. Ta!

When it was launched, the Camargue, which was the flagship of the Rolls-Royce lineup, was the most expensive production car in the world, eventually selling in North America for approximately US$147,000 ($588,000 in 2008 dollars).

I'm having slight withdrawals from car hunting so I'm getting desperate to find cars. These are all I have to offer.

The little orange blur, that be an SVT Raptor

Old Willys or Dodge or some military truck all covered up. The truck pulling it was just as cool, but I saw it as we passed and couldn't get a picture.

Fairy nuff. You know what Porsche owners are like with using bits and bobs from other models. I'll assign that to the Frankenporsches folder.

What an interesting place! That E-Type bonnet alone must be worth a bomb. What are those wide cars black/dark red with the large front grilles?

Those two are Lincoln Continentals I think, not sure what years I think it's from the 50's. I would of got more pictures, but I'm not sure if we were supposed to be back there, we just drove through a gate so it was all one sweep.

oh my god... I mean, come ON. TWO, yes, TWOOOOOOOOO 57 Continentals. Seemingly just sitting there.
NO
FFFFFFFF
WAY.
That's a good couple hundred thousand dollars.

Skyline, you do know what you have to do, right?
(like pay me a ticket to go over there and check out those cars)

or you can go get 100 pictures of each.

what a place, amazing.

And Rue, I'm saving up that "Cano Alert" thing. its AWESOME :dopey:

EDIT: GOT DAMMIT!!

ok, aftear reading your post, could you at least provide these pictures in megasize?
Of course, if you can go sneak in again, PLEASE please me (:

, I thought it would be a place you'd like. When the weather gets better I'll go back over and see if I can get more pictures. They usually have different cars during the summer coming in and out.

Yea I'll get some bigger pictures up either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

man you could save you time and effort of uploading small pictures and big pictures, because YOU KNOW IM GONNA ASK FOR BIG when you find places like these. Incredible. The Stude also looks primising...

Hey everyone, I'm back with some spots from recently. Before that though, what a flipping amazing few pages! Rue how do you stumble into Mercs of such rarity within the span of a few hours. Statistically you're more likely to get hit by a bus driven by a monkey! As if that's not enough, you add salt to injury with that Sierra :scared:
And zonderf, great spots! Are they all from Atlanta? Seems like the casinos won't be the only attraction for me when I visit the states one day. The 2 Carrera GTs & SLR in that single shot is a killer! I almost missed the bright yellow Lambo.
NISM0_SKYLINE Love those muscles you photographed in the other thread, Cano must still be having epileptic seizures now.

So here, a more humble post:

Then I saw this, a R33 GT-R
20100123_Canon_EOS_0459.jpg

After I took this photo the owner turned up, I thought crap, he's not going to like what I've done. But no, we had a small chat and he let me take a few more photos while he smoked a cigarette.

And even posed one on his way out

When I left the car park 5 minutes later I saw him waiting at the lights, so 1 final shot. It's a V-spec!

To end this post, I close it with a Toyota Estima, because I just love the wheels on this thing and it looks too good not to shoot.

The ones in this thread are all from Atlanta, the one in the other thread with the CGT's and SLR was at a dealership in Miami. I was amazed that they had them all parked outside since it rains pretty much every day in Florida

Great score on the R33 dac-xint! It's reassuring to know that many of these beasts are driven by true car guys that like to talk about their machines rather than just pose.

I didn't have a thing for the 1000th page and now I keping finding things.

Came across this old Savoy and Z/28 today. The Savoy is $800 and I think the Z is $2000, but I'm not sure.

New Porsche Boxster (For anyone that cares.)

I care! The very subtle redesign both the Boxter and Cayman have had is quite successful, I reckon. Especially at the back. Classic designs that have just got that little bit better.

Nice photo, too 👍

I read the first page and someone was freaking out that people killed the old thread by posting elises, s2000, accords and such yet that's what a lot of people do. That's all I was pointing out.

They were talking about stock, run-of-the-mill models. If they are interesting, such as the ones Dac-Xint and Rue posted above, then they are perfectly fine to be posted here.

ok then, I see that the point of this thread was lost along the way somewhere.

Hi there dave_sz and welcome to the thread. Have you got anything interesting to show us? Sounds like you must have some great cars around the Windy City if most of our spots don't flick your switch. You may have missed some of my photos as the links are all broken now. I have relocated them all to here. Feel free to check them out. In the meantime, get snapping!

Thanks for the comments on the Boxster, but it was basically just a point and shoot (actually almost all my photos are) as there was a lull in traffic and I quite like the restyle, especially in white. Just a fluke the photo came out so sharp and with good colour. The camera saga still rolls on dac_xint, however I do have a bit of money to spend on one, I'm just one the fence. I had my heart set on the G11, but it's basically the same as the S90 features and sensor wise and I do get a lot of snaps by purely having my camera on me and close to hand at the time. If I buy a G11, then I may as well by a 1000D, which I have seen for less money (great, reliable shop in MK) than the G11. However, if I have a bigger camera will I get the shots? It's a dilemma. Gone are the days I will just buy something on a whim. I also need to sell my three compact DC's that I have lying around my flat in varying terms of brokendowness. I should proabably just plump for the S90, but I'll always have that niggling feeling that it will breakdown just like all my other Canon DC's. Sigh... Someone buy me a 1000D and an S90 and I'll be a happy man!

Great! We finally have some heat in here after the weeks of recovering from hangovers of New Year parties. Now, if only we have more substance than just some passive aggressive comments then the rest of us will step up to the challenge. BTW if GilesGuthrie or anyone for that matter (dave_sz included) have any issues with what I post I will promptly (but a little unwillingly) take down the "boring" ones.

Cano have gone through this I believe with his weekly dose of carbonized oldies once (which I adore) so I don't think I'm alone here when I say that we DO try to make the best of what is interesting on the road AND keeping this thread alive for people with a broad taste. I rarely comment on most of the posts here but it doesn't mean I don't find them interesting. I believe many of us here have been introduced to a lot of wonderful cars they would otherwise never know if others felt even a little stigmatized for what they felt compelled to share. Anyway, that's my point. Peace~

RUE I'm out today helping a friend choose a camera (a G11 or 500D) so I'll take another good look at whats available. Will pm you later, hopefully with some really interesting spots.

There's a place in MK called Cam2 (or it could be a shop above that shop) that I have been told is excellent and they sell older cameras still with full manafacturer warranty. Also their is a shop on the ground floor of the Wanchai comp. centre (apparantly) that has a good reputation and excellent prices. My colleague is an avid photographer and he told me about these places. Although, obviously you'd know about these places way more than me. Look forward to the spots. I might have to take a few myself.

Skyline, you are STEALING the show dude. Incredible. That Z-28 is all-out tempting. And that Lincoln!!!!

You ain't taking down one single car of yours. In fact, what you gonna do is go give me those fantastic R33 pictures in absolutely gigantic size, because that car is so insanely beautiful. I WANT.

And just so li'l friend Dave SZ will have something to whine about, here we go, one of the most pedestrian posts this week:

First, a mid 60s fin-Mercedes in pristine shape, tough I dont know how I managed to chop the nose off. Notice 300ZX in front of it:
eghgsl030.jpg

aaah this street-freakish 1970 Mustang Coupe revealed itself near my previous house complete with billet wheels on monster wide rear tires, traction bars and THAT paintjob. notice sleeping dog under it:
eghgsl031.jpg

Morris Minor near work. This guy also has another one that he always keeps garaged, have not been able to snap it:
fbhtydkl029.jpg

Other side of things: New Mini with some awesome wheels and little else, but enough to catch my eye... heck, I think even the wheels are stock:
fbhtydkl032.jpg

Tidy MK-I, low to thre ground with offset Euro-style wheels and clean all around:
fbhtydkl033.jpg

First Altima SE-R I've seen on the street... and last:
fbhtydkl036.jpg

TWO, yes, TWO Hormigas in the same post. This is not gonna happen again people so MARK this page. The Hormiga (Ant) was produced exclusively by Volkswagen de Mexico as a work vehicle, it had the traditional boxer engine UNDER the cabin, so it was hellish hot and noisy as heck. They were EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY limited, about 900 of them were manufactured in its shot 3 year life span, and remember, they were only for the mexican market. Today only a few remain in good shape, undervalued and underrated, but they are a part of mexican automotive history.
fbhtydkl038.jpg

fbhtydkl051.jpg

very very nice Jag with chrome wheels, these things are gaining popularity in here, they were rare to see some years ago but people are startint to pay attention to them.... and import them, of course, because they were never sold here:
fbhtydkl039.jpg

mid-70s VW Bug, I love the light on this one and how the graff behind it matches the car:
fbhtydkl041.jpg

speaking of normal!!! yeah, an Avenger. Never sold here, but because of the new law that allows you to legalize an imported car more than ten years old, these things and every Mitsu Eclipe built are starting to be everyday stuff in here.
fbhtydkl042.jpg

very nice VR6 Passat Variant. I think this thing lives nearby, so I'll have to hunt it down.
fbhtydkl043.jpg

eh yes, three-ton Ford F100 truck in tatty shape, but it's still working, and hard:
fbhtydkl050.jpg

yeah, another Bug. Remember, Mexico is Bugland all out. This time a 60-something with "potato" licenseplate light:
fbhtydkl052.jpg

hop in and tour one of the nicest, most touristic parts of the city for like usd2.
fbhtydkl053.jpg

THIS
WAS
MAJESTIC.
I had never seen a 1958 Eldorado before. Damn was this car PERFECT. I could not get the front because I noticed it from the restaurant where we were having something, and of course ran outside without saying anything to my family and blew this picture. Epic.
fbhtydkl054.jpg

You dont find many ducattis hewre, much less a 999Testatretta, so I went bonkers when I saw this one outside a public market. Damn, I LOVE how mean these things look. Their headlamps look like a Valkyrie head from Macross... or Asuka's Eva II:
fbhtydkl056.jpg

Aaah, this nice Ford Maverick with what looked like Astro Supreme wheels had a mean demeanor in all-black paint. It lacked the hood scoops but come on, I would not mind dumping the clutch on this thing. Manual car.
fbhtydkl057.jpg

Nearby, 66 (I think) Galaxie hardtop, a little tattered but pretty good if you ask me. Needs Cragars. And leave the purple alone.
fbhtydkl059.jpg

yeeeeeeeeet another Beetle, this time orange, lowered, Pancho Mendoza exhaust and polished Firebeetle wheels catched my eye:
fbhtydkl064.jpg

pitifuly stock but rare 1962 (I think) Falcon Futura, which was refreshing since every one of those seems to have become a bunch of rust. Car was pristine and holding the entire family.
fbhtydkl090.jpg

and of course, no post made to be obnoxious woulkd be complete without TEH RICE:

This thing almost loooked good... almost:
eghgsl033.jpg

stupid guy almost runs over me, so I retaliate by making fun of his piece of garbage:
fbhtydkl092.jpg

And if you thought that was bad, check this out... zpinnerz yo!

Yeah, that should do.
