man the Mosler on the street is quite the spot, amazing!!
Nice Miata Rue.
Anyway, post time, starting with a cool row of very vintage looking motorcycles, actually they are newlly built bikes with amazing build quality, of course made to look like old 50's style choppers. It's a new company that just opened up and that happens to be very near my job.
1967 Ford Galaxie ragtop with a 390, inside some kind of classic car dealer that usually has Ferraris and Porsches but now had this. I had seen this car about 8 years ago (one of my first street-spots) ner my previous house south of the city, it was in a shop where they wer redoing it's top I think. Stellar car and awesome to find it again.
mid-60s fin-Mercedes left fr dead inside a parking lot. Notice all the stuff sitting over it, including it's bumpers, and how the top is torn down... but also notice that it doesnt have -or at least it isnt noticeable- any serious rust. resto? you bet... if there was any interest in these things.
1954 Plymouth Savoy two door, extremely rare car to find, I was fascinated by it because I had never seen one. Notice the 1985 license plate. One of these was used to form
Troy Trepanier's Viper-chassised and powered Sniper.
An XR7 T-Bird!!! these cars were never sold in here, I was amazed to find one lurking around, complete with white-line tires and those lovely "hole" aluminum wheels. Cool little turbo-4 cars, I'd like to yank that engine on a Pinto.
publicity in the back of a bus, It was really cool, haha:
1959 Chevrolet Biscayne inside a house, it seems to bee in pretty good shape, hope it gets driven from time to time. I love the bat wings of 59 Chevys.
F1 Ford Truck still hard at work, I remember it sounded like it had a Diesel motor swapped in, who knows... but it was awesome to see such a relic still at it.
same rural road as the F1 truck held this jewel of a T2 Bus, incredibly ugly but charismatic at the same time:
same place, a fully charged, turbine-wheeled VW Sunagon, rare in here because this was never officially sold in Mexico.
RS Camaro in decent shape, I had never ever seen such rear window slots!! blacked-out taillamps are extra:
nice 47 Ford inside a car wash, it seemed to be a mildly-street-rodded car:
Oval Window Bug in great shape, with whitewalls and uncappers in the rear wheels. If I ever get to own a VW toy I sure hope it will be an Oval Window bug, but it's hard to believe the prices these things are commanding right now...
Nearby sat this nice Maverick with false Cragars and fake rear discs but otherwise nice shape, 289 power, too.
one of the very few times I have seen one in the street, and the only one I have snapped:
this little awesome VW Bug blew by me, it was in excelent shape and for sale. Written in the rear window was: "Special Edition - 1969"... I can't see why it was a special edition, but oh well, rarity sells I think, even if it's false.
when was the last time you saw a Dodge Shadow in such a good shape? Turbo too, and those wheels really rocked the socks. The fact that it's a ragtop makes it even more rarer. Awesome little car.
mid-70s VW Bug in pretty good condition! People, that is the original paint... or so it seemed. It has a small fender-bender but it's otherwise in great shape. I love that green.
Now the spot of this post, this seemingly abandoned 1980 (I think) Chevy Corvette... these cars were never sold here (Vettes started to sell in here about 1991, when the LT1 kicked in) so it's a very very rare car in here and higly sought ater. Alas, this car has not moved in years (I frequent this place, there is a mall nearby where I hunt hot wheels down) and is starting to show it slowly. Tires are going down and the headlamps stayed up from last time.
It really surprised me to find such a rare car in such a state of abandon... it's owner must know what he's got, but of what use is that if the poor car doesn't even move?
I'd drive this thing daily. Automatic, well-cared-for interior, everything there, T-Tops...
and finally, the only rice-mobile we have is quite relevant if it is what it seems to be:
You see, VW Mexico and Mattel teamed up about two years ago to produce two limited edition Beetle, a Hot Wheels version (Stickers, tubo wheels, stupid stuff) that was a limited edition, but not as limited as the Barbie Beetle, of which about 20 or so were made and all were sold out in about two hours. If this is indeed one of those, then this guy has just ruined a very collectible car.
