I saw a Mazda RX-7 Spirit R a few months ago. Pictures:

Now, people might be thinking, "Another RX-7 in a Gran Turismo forum. Whoop". So I shall explain the big deal.

First off, as can be seen, it is a Spirit R RX-7. When the RX-7 was about to have it's production ended, Mazda decided to let it go out with a bang. Hence, 1500 Spirit R RX-7s were made to commemorate the end of the RX-7's production. Of course, since the RX-7 by the point was only available in Japan, so was the Spirit R. The Spirit R came in three trims- Type A, Type B and Type C. The Type A is featured in the game, and is the sportiest of the Spirit Rs with no rear "seats" and a 5 speed manual. It also has exclusive wheel colours, in addition to the Spirit R's exclusive body colour of Titanium Gray Metallic. Visually however, there is little to separate the Types.

I believe the one I encountered was a Type A, given the colour of the wheels. However, it appears to be a very good replica instead of an original Spirit R, right down to the red Recaro Bucket Seats. You'll note that the front Mazda logo is missing, and the logos on the rear are a bit... jumbled.

Lastly, it's spotted in Singapore, where I live. You know, the country that charges you more to own a piece of paper that allows you to own a car that costs more than the damned car itself. And the country with no race tracks. Amazing cars are hard to come by here. I'm not entirely sure if I'm elated or depressed to see a FD here, let alone a Spirit R.

That's an impressive spot anywhere^^

Now when you say nice cars are hard to come by in Singapore, what do you mean? :sly:

I get that there are exotics in Singapore as well. However... think. There are no racetracks here open to the public. Nowhere to let your car loose legally. Sports and exotic cars here are either simply passing by, or owned by people whom have money to burn to show off. It's a depressing prospect. Perhaps I should've worded it better, that there are no good sports and exotic cars doing what they were made to do: race.

I've never seen a Defender this big ._. Here in Poland they are like 3/4 the size of one you caught.

Unless it's not a Defender, which I doubt.

No, it was the real thing. Also, I didn't see any US Plates on it; instead, I saw a white plate much like this one in this spot.

i think it might be a North American specification Land Rover Defender 110, but slightly modified.

A more depressing thought is that exotic cars are now probably designed specifically for rich people living in big cities that barely drive them.

To be fair though, there are a lot of people who do drive there supercars properly.
I know that one of my fathers friends, who has a fantastic garage, uses his Exotica on a near enough daily basis.

It may just be me, but I've always found that generation of the SRT8 Charger to be so boring. It's yawn-inducing; it just looks so blah. :yuck:

From the rear it does feel boring and especially in silver. But the front of that generation of the SRT-8 Charger, I like. Don't know why...

Spotted a new to me iteration of the Mustang, GT/CS convertible, looked nice from the front

and my 2nd Ford GT!

made up for missing a shot of the testarossa this morning, though it was probably the same one I saw recently

A few from the last few weeks.

Not special, but getting rarer by the day - not one, but two Mk4 Ford Escorts:

And a Ford Ranger (Mazda-based) Martini edition:

Then finally, a split-screen VW Type 2. It's at a dealership, but as it's owned by the owner and not for sale I'm calling it a regular spot :D

Ah, that was one of the first cars I drove when I was a delivery driver in Bristol. Steering was woolier than ones of Giles Brandtreth's pullovers and the brakes were as vague as a politician on Question Time. In fact the thing was a complete death-trap. Still, the Ghia badges on the sides were real babe-magnets.......
