Awesome spot Roo!

There's a "355" near me, but I highly suspect it's an MR2 kit.

Roo
Thanks for the compliments, guys. It was very close to a very rich area, so fingers crossed I might run into it again.

Loving the Belgian Herbie :)

If it's FAST 40, it's illegal - you can't have more than 3 letters or numbers in one go. It doesn't take much to make a 7 look like a T, and as Famine posted, the DVLA site brings up an F40 for FAS740, so I doubt it's anything other than that.

Thaks Roo.
Congrats on your F40 spot.

when i got home from work i dumped my bag (and camera) and went to go pick up a parcel from the sorting office. It hadnt arrived yet but on the journey there and back (no more than 10 mins either direction) i saw my first S5 in white, looked hawt as hell, the daytime running lights gave it away the second i saw it!

when i was pulling back in to park at home i saw a "Lotus 7" (skeptical) probably a replica.

:grumpy: its always when i dont have a camera i see the good stuff :grumpy:

Try paying £480 every year. That's what I have to pay for my ST220.

To whom?

In the UK I'd have to pay HM Government £300 a year and my insurers whatever premium they'd charge (£360ish) a year before I even put petrol in it.

Not to mention (if the car's over three years old) the MOT (£50 + any work that needs doing) to say your car is roadworthy.

So I have heard rumours that these things existed but never really knew it until today. It's a Colorado Xtreme and I'm guessing they have to be fairly rare and never sold in great quantities.

M3's really aren't something I see all that often, maybe one or two per year so I thought it was picture worthy.

I also saw a Suzuki Swift today although I was driving and felt it would be a bad idea to take a picture of it. It was M plated so it was owned by a company, I don't think they are for sale here yet are they?

Any reasons as to why? You've posted many nice cars from your area so i dont get why M3's would be rare. I find them to be quite common everywhere i go. At least a couple at the school parking lot on any given day

BMW's in general aren't popular in this area. The same people who would buy them end up getting a Caddy instead because they get a GM discount on it. I bet I'll end up seeing a new Caddy CTS-V before I ever have a chance to see a new M3. M5 are probably even rarer around here, I think I've seen one in the past few years and it was owned by a former boss of mine.

I agree about the Colorado Xtreme, those things are cool but I rarely ever see them, I'm guessing most people would rather have a base model or a 4WD model (which doesn't come in the Xtreme trim).

I've seen a bunch of them around here... :odd:

Not in the US or Canada, but they do sell them in Mexico.

I saw my first Evo X in the "wild" today. Parked downtown outside a couple of bars.

...
We ain't getting them up here! There's no 98 octane pumps in the region - the closest being Wanganui. The dealer didn't figure this out until the local journo went to do an article.

The dealer had two on order and had to then inform the potential customers. Both orders were cancelled...

:dunce:

The highest we have around here is 93.

91 in some places. That's not fair.

No road trips to the 'Naki for Evo X owners then either. On the plus side, you could make some money by selling fuel to their stranded owners

Wow. I love that gen of M3, but there are so many of the damn things here that I’m now sick of them. On the way to the gym today I saw both an M3 and an M5.

Just as a note: You see more M3s and M5s on this side of Michigan than you do on that one. There was a point in the fall where I was usually seeing an M5 a day, oddly enough, driven by middle-aged women.

Weird.

It depends on the system used to measure it. I know the US uses PON (Pump Octane Number), which is an average of MON (Motor) and RON (Research). MON is lower than RON, to the tune of 8-10 points, so a RON of 98 (as used in the UK) could easily equal a PON of 93 (as used in the US).

£480 a year to the government > road tax. And £353 a year to the insurance company.

Another shot for Joey D:

I was actually snapping the fifth Clubman (three at exactly the same junction) I've seen for him, but caught the Cooper S Cabriolet at the same time.

Edit: Same junction, December:

You know I'm yet to see a Clubman on the road here and I've been looking quite hard as well. Some of the guys in the Mini club have seen them but I haven't. They have one or two at Motor City Mini but those are demos. Thanks for the photo though, I just hope I can see one soon.

A red Oldsmobile Starfire..? I gotta say, this was quite beautiful in person. It has a sense of presence that few cars of this type give off to me. I looks like a GM Impala clone--time for me to Wiki it. :D

That reminds me I saw a Clubman in the showroom of a Mini/BMW dealer while I was in Tijuana.

Minis, especially the Cooper S and Clubman are becoming hugely popular here too, which is in turn increasing the demand for the old 'real' Minis. I see countless examples now. They truly do remain the classless car.
