DiRT 3 (Debut Trailer Page 2; First Details Inside)

How is framerate, stable?

Seems stable for me so far and with Motocross races using 8 cars and wih some great snow and rain effects. Visually and in sheer fun entertainment value Im finding this game surpasses GT5's rally stages.

Ah good to read some opinions from a fellow t500rs user. I went down to Gamestop to preorder my copy.

I should be able to play in the next day or so as well 👍

Yeah Shift 2 not having proper support was annoying.
Your gonna love this, you constantly have to work with the wheel.

I went straight in with all assists off and the challenge isnt bad but finding it possible to win on a 2nd or 3rd attempt on most races.

GT5's rally stages weren't fantastic from the get-go with Dirt 1 or Dirt 2 according to your criteria.

The point I was making was to put across that anyone that enjoyed Rally in GT5 should find this equally as good if not better. The usage of the FFB certainly on the T500 in the snow for instance is excellent in Dirt 3, very involving. The handling in general works well. However I havnt played with all types of cars in the game yet to determine how they vary.

The game does an excellent job of mixing arcade fun with the need for good skills without being too simulated.

The graphic engine seems to be a good one, the tracks looks good, they should create Grid 2 using this engine it could be epic.

Just discovered one track with a hint of framerate dropping. Cant remember the name of it but also discovered that the AI at Level 6 (change settings in advanced) are seriously quick for AI.

Regards the tactile from this game, Im getting seriously good tactile from the AI cars, you can feel them to the side and behind, jumps, bangs and crashes are superb. Also getting really nice engine tactile from the centre and front channels from the Aura Pro at the pedals.

One thing I've not read or heard mention is how the damage is repaired between rounds.
Do you get a 60 minute slot and decide what to work on ?

Edit to say we have moved rooms.
Thanks Jordan.

Yep, the new forum is up now so feel free to spread out, guys. :)

Gametrailers mentioned not being able to save replays besides 30 second upload to youtube, did they get that right? Kind of frustrating if you ask me. Anyways, I just preordered today.

Intensity Pro all hooked up and ready :)
Its so people dont get crazy.

I want DiRT 1 with DiRT two graphics and physics. That is all.

Exactly my thoughts.

I was disappointed in the second Dirt Game, only because it was lacking rally events... Apparently DiRT3 will be a great RALLY game this time, and it will support the T500 RS 👍 I preordered mine already.

been saying that since Dirt 2 came out as well lol I will forever wonder why they step BACK a step from 1. But this release looks to be what we've been waiting for!

So I can't save full replays to my HDD then?

with capture card you can :)

Been a follower of the Colin McRae games since the first and loved them all. Dirt 1 was a great game which had a lot of tiers and events for Career mode so hopefully we get something like that. I've played Dirt 2 on the PS3 but only a demo which was also very good but bought the less great Wii version. I shall be getting this one on Tuesday (as thats when its out in the UK). Though I have lowered my excitement after being hyped up for GT5 and Shift 2 then being disappointed.

Though it does look a good game.

Lots Classic Rally cars.

Gymkhana looks great and should be a right laugh.

Also looking forward to driving the Ford Fiesta and Citroen DS3 Rally (I think its in the game) cars as I think they great looking road cars.

Yeah I understand that. Not really an option for most of us though.

Either way I'm pretty excited for this. I wasn't planning on getting it until a couple days ago when I started watching more videos of it online. Should be a lot of fun.

Thinking about buying Dirt 3. Only thing that's holding me back is the percentage of 'native rally events'. I don't want to play all the 'fun events' just to advance in the career mode.
I really loved the rally races in Dirt 2 but there were just too little of them.

Hopefully Dirt 3 is more about rally, and not about trailblazers, gymkhana and capture the flag or driving through gates...

Read the thread - 60% of the game is rally (though Codemasters' definition of "rally" may or may not include Trailblazer and Head to Head). Rallycross, Landrush, Gymkhana, etc. form the remaining 40% of the game. Later career events apparently include all disciplines.

Fabulous, a DiRT 3 section :) Perfect timing too as I just uploaded my own DiRT 3 trailer:

Renault 5 Turbo is outstandingly fun! Always on the edge in it! :D

Also I just realised that to get slow-motion in replays, you you use the Accelerator/brake pedals. :P

Edit:
Rally result after 2 stages:

Fuuuuu!
You can see that, just like real life, Ken Bollock is good at rallying... Hold on... :odd:

In other news, Quattro Trailblazer car is amazing. :D

Now THAT is what I call a photo finish (2/1000 of a second separating first and second place)!
