HAH, I managed to beat you by a hairstrand just now!

1:28.278

Damn, how will I live with myself now :P

Like I said just after I set my best time, I could have gone at least 3/10ths faster if it wasn't for a small mistake on the last corner. I would try and improve on my time, but I can't right now as I have some pressing matters to attend to. I'll give event 3 a go later though.

EDIT: You of all people should know that a photo of your time on the online leaderboard is required rather than a simple "Personal Best" time shown in the photo you've provided.

You Don't trust me? :mischievous:

The thing hasn't updated so I took a pic of that for now.

If you really want me to get a leaderboard pic up here, then hollar. I've got nothing to hide *arms open wide*

I just ran a 55.197 w/ the MG METRO PILE , I'll update my time like the WRS or if someone needs a photo or what ever it takes.

---------------------------------------- UPDATE --------------------------------
I ran a 54.823 w/ the Audi :)

Come on guys! It's been 4 days already! Any one is welcome to join.

I should have set a time for this event last week, but I've completely bypassed it in the last few days due to me being busy or forgetting to give it a go. I will try and set a time this evening though.

EDIT: This was the toughest one yet, but I managed to get a time of 0:53.534 using the Audi Quattro.

Oh Hell! Last minute too!

Edjit: Sorry folks (to those who have been participating), I'm taking a short break on this.

It's not very active here at the moment, and I'm busy with other things. I'll have Week #4 up starting next week.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

And.... I'm back! Sorry again for the postponed week for those who take part! For this I will open Week 4's event 2 hours ahead of time!

Unfortunately, we cannot take photos of the leaderboards since this one is under SINGLE RACE, so you'll just have to snap a shot when you finish, like this.

Started messing around with the R5 Turbo and pretty much crushed my previous time. :) Also decided to upload the replay to YouTube if anyone wants to watch it.

Just decided to try out the Sierra RS500 and set a time of 1:33.057. It may not be the fastest time in this event, but hey, I haven't even tried the other cars yet.

I prefer to use the R5 Turbo when doing 80's rally events, so I'll set a time with that car later.

The Cosworth is so difficult to corner with since you really got to be precise with the throttle!

But to make this post more meaningful, which car do you guys feel suits this event the best, and why?

I'd like to go indepth with stats, speed and other stuff into detail to learn more about each car, unfortunately I don't have that knowledge.

Best time I could set with the R5 Turbo was 1:32.379.

Yeah, it's quite a handful, but I'd rather drive it than the Manta 400 (I'll tell you why in a moment).

Well, I don't have any of the DLC yet, so I'm not sure what the M3 Rally is like to drive. As for the cars I can drive, I would say the R5 Turbo is best for this event, and by quite a margin too. It's by far the easiest to control in the corners, although I'm not sure if it's faster than the Sierra on the straight sections.

As for the Manta 400, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't even get within 2 seconds of my fastest time that I set with the R5 Turbo. The Manta's handling isn't great, plus I don't think it's as fast as the other cars in a straight line. If you want to set a fast time on Calumet Pass, I personally wouldn't recommend using that car.

By the way, I found that my stage times dropped considerably when I set the downforce to its highest setting and the gear ratios set to the shortest setting. Altering the other settings didn't really affect my time that much.

Hey guys check it out, i just blasted a 1:31+ on my second try  proof to follow on final submission 👍

All I know is: Don't set your gear ratio to anything under the mid-setting for the circuit races or else you hit your lowered top speed in no time

If someone aske me about how the diferent cars handled I would have to say that the Opel is the easiast then the Cos and then the R5. The Opel is smooth and handles good but wouldn't out pull the Cos. The R5 has a pipy feel like a 2 stroke but it's twitchy and won't run calm. The Cos is my choice and it seems to have the power and handling, it seems to be able to find that extra dig to push the envelope that extra bit. IMO

I'm stuck on 1'31.801 and I beat my TT time, something I haven't been able to do on any of the other tracks, I didn't think that the tracks w/ varriablity issues of weather and time of day would allow me to find the extra speed I was looking for.

I've improved my time for Week 4's event... I did go to the extent of turning down the downforce (seems like a lot of us probably are)... 1:32.471 - R5 Turbo....

Week 4 still doesn't expire for another 1hour 40 minutes. Submit times if you still like.

What if I made a rule that didn't allow tuning? :sly: I wonder what the results would be like.

------------------------

Again I'm going to put up the new event early (since I'm already in this thread)...

I seemed to be stuck at 1:42 with the Abarth, even with the tuning.

But then the 207 seemed to be the faster of the two. I'm just amazed how a little tweaking made this car that much more easier to control compared to the last time I drove it on Default on a wet road. When I set my initial time of 1:44 with the Abarth, I said to myself "It's definitely possible I can do at least 3 seconds better... and so I did with a 1:41.983 - 207!!!

Right now, I'm feeling the 207 feels lighter on its wheels and thus won't feel like it's fighting against you in the corners from its weight unlike the Abarth... I can also get the 207 through some corners at higher speeds than the Abarth. For instance, I can get to the first checkpoint in 25.xx seconds more consistently than the Abarth.

You didn't acknowledge the fastest time that I set the other day, so...
Best time I could set with the R5 Turbo was 1:32.379.

Also, am I the only one who actually increased the downforce on my car for this event? My stage times were alot faster than they were when I turned down the downforce.

Oh, and I'll try the new event later on.

My last time was missed as well.

I ran the stage out of intrigue in the RS500 with higher (don't remember specifically how high) with a 1:30.869 though I have no interest in the competition here, I still took a photo just incase I contributed discussion so if you want proof you can have it though I'm not trying to submit my time (even if I was on time ).

wich track i have to drive this week? I don't understand the thread right.

You go to single player, select single race, discipline as Rally, Location as Kenya, Track as Taita Hills, Vehicle Class as S200, and Conditions as Morning, Sun.

Man AOS- your TT time was just blazing, I didn't ever think I could catch you. It is so cool to finaly have a reason to focus on this game. I was hoping to make the first page, if I can't take the top spot from that atomiton at the front then I will settle w/ the front page ...

Right now I'm sitting at 1'41.924, using the Peugeot 207 (proof to follow if needed) something I didn't think I could get to given the fact that the Fn squid AI break the rythym of the zone, but they were just far enough ahead that I just hit them in their 6 as I crossed the line ....
