Well the thing already exists and if someone can do it, so can you.. I could start making up rules not enforced by the game, but then why should one follow it, or how would I know someone was or wasn't using a shorter method (like wall riding or half donuts)? If I don't make such rules, I won't run into this sort of problem. If using said methods are required to beat someone else's time for this EOTW, then why should it be banned? No one is physically restricted from doing, therefore anyone can do it, and thus by not doing it, that person simply chose not to.
Just my 2 cents on the whole thing.
Again, I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, you're spot on there's no point trying to rule over these things. I'm just saying it's a shame there are these little tricks which ultimately bring out huge gaps and I don't think they're great events for time trialling ultimately because of it.
