Well while I was waiting for confirmation of the specific size of rubber stoppers that can be sourced on AmazonUK. Ive came up with a simple mod inspired by the guys who have had some success using foam golf balls, dry wall sanding blocks & packing pieces etc.

Ive taken a cut to size section from my old Nike running shoes that feature a sole made of their Lunarlon material which is meant to keep its springyness forever. I can contest to this as they were as comfy as day I bought them. As they had seen better days otherwise ie cosmetically I just said **** it lol.

I'll let you all know how I get on!

R.i.P running shoes ahahahaha You literally **** that S*** up ahahahaha NIOCE!

Lol cheers I know but stuff it they'd had their day. True story, first time I wore them I ripped a massive hole in the fabric from playing a charity game of dodgeball on concrete & my feet were bleeding as it went right through my socks. Took them to the local repair / key cut store where they somehow managed to patch them up & make them usable again. I did use them for running a few times in between but can think of no better send off tribute than helping my T300 in their dying act years later lol.

Spot the odd ones out in the pic :) In the 2nd you'll see why I put them out their misery! :(

Anyway back on topic it's just another idea if anyone else happens to have a spare or past their best pair of runners lying around.

Just thought I'd share it with you all rather than keep it to myself. Had a few laps of driveclub there and the difference was immediately noticeable, breaking felt way more natural & satisfying.

You'd think with the price of these wheels that thrustmaster should really be coming up with something similar. I'm really happy with my setup now but look forward to hearing how you guys get on with the brake mod. Cheers again!

Edit: discovered that the piece moved around a little so the 2nd/last part of this other potentially free/cheap mod involves some 'No more nails' type tape stuck to the back to keep it in place. It's also quite springy & you can use 1-2+ layers cut to size & it should then stay in place.. Sorted. Happy racing & good luck if trying anything similar. :)

(stating the obvious here) Obviously please be careful if handling anything sharp that could suddenly slip & cut yourself etc. Just use sharp scissors when trimming the final piece to shape & whenever possible. To be honest that's one major bonus of the original mod. It's also been thoroughly road tested & recommended by someone who's obviously an expert in that of Darin.

I'm wondering if you can't reach a similar effect by glueing some of these rubber thumb grips for a dualshock 4 to the back of the brake pedal arm and/or pedal. You can use any combo of thick and thin grips for getting the amount of travel you like

This set is $8.

The kittens all grown up.:scared::scared:

Each time you start the system you need to calibrate the pedals, essentially the pedals learn what their travel is each time you press them.

So with this mod after you turn your wheel on, you will press the pedals hard to give them their total travel calibration, then when you press the pedals lightly during racing and use the progression of the rubber components you can control and prevent lock ups in game.

I just used the white foam that was in the t3oo box . A few tries to get the right thickness . Put a piece behind gas also . It works and it was free .

What's the best way to check your getting full breaking ability after you've made a mod? Or what percentage of normal potential/full travel do you think is needed for best results?

Or if you're attaching something to create resistance, how thick do you think it should it be? Does it not even matter how thick you make it, say it met resistance straight away & it never went close enough to 100%.

I'm just wondering if there's any limits to the adaptive auto calibration system in essence & if you need to let it travel a certain distance for the optimal feel & control. I've trimmed my foam back a little & trying to decide whether I've hit the sweet spot.

Otherwise essentially you're deciding what size of rubber stopper to go for here as there's different sizes availabile on Amazon etc.

The problem there is likely to be keeping the things stuck down as there's nothing in the way of a flat superglue-able surface

Anything you put down will tend to move around or become unstuck as it's subject to so many forces from your constant pedal pressing.

That mod I made needed attempt no.3 as the double sided tape didn't keep it in place. You're better off cutting any foam you use to size & needs trial & error style tweaking. You want to see the state of my poor old trainers at this stage lol.

Anyone who is trying the main mod please remember to let us know how you get on!

Yes anyone ready to let us know?:sly::D

Silly Question time ;-) After having read all this and seen the video what I can't understand is how you still get 100% brake application because you are reducing the pedal travel. I do believe these pedals use a potentiometer and not a load cell, hence, the confusion.
I don't think this is a silly question at all? Did you manage to find an answer? :)

The 12x12x6 are small but they are the right size, they certainly match Darin's.
I think the point is that they push into the flatter pads as they're really hard.
The felt pads i bought (the ones available in the 56 pcs pack) are a little bit too flexible, I even put 3 on top of each other!

Thinking about it, using the more flexible pads I bought with the taller 8mm foot pads @UkHardcore23 bought may not be a bad idea as you may still have full travel but earlier resistance.

Going back to my setup, I need to test it more to confirm but apart from having a bit of travel without resistance, it feels alright. I may or may not try to improve it.

If you watch Darins vid again you notice his ones are actually 19mm..says on the red box so these new ones ordered should be pretty much identical.

Think i bought the same pads as you as i got 56 in a pack also. I have ordered something different today as i thought the pads would be to spongy.

Looking at it again, you are right about the size of the 'chocolate squares'. 👍

Yep I was sure I saw 12x12x6 when I watched it or maybe your Amazon link was to blame sir.:sly::P
It's all Darin's fault :D

Will do mate, Only thing is im not planning on opening my wheel until a week before PCars hits, But i should be able to tell if they will work or not. Really i think the Isolation pads will work the best that someone posted the link to im just trying the cheapest option first :ouch:

I only opened mine to test everything was working using that control panel thing, had to for a little piece of mind tbh. Oh and to sort that yucky dead zone issue with the pedals.

You do that through the PC? I guess i better get on that!
