And yet, those would apparently serve more purpose than tickets to wash your car... who does that? Who ever went:

"Ah, let's put some shine on my SLR Mclaren. Yes, I'd like my car washed please! What?! I'm sorry, did you say 50 credits?! Well, you sir are a capitalist PIG!"

I wash my cars. I wash them after I buy them and after every few races I do with them.

Point is to have tickets to save you a measly 50 credits is the silliest thing on GT5 since the X1. Tickets to restore the engine and body, well some of those can go up to 500,000 so they're more than welcome.
Oil changes and car washes... yeah, you lost me there.

I see the oil change coupons being of use after I buy a 20,000,000 credit car, so I feel those have their purpose, although it's a rare instance.

The car wash coupons on the other hand are pretty much useless for me. I don't wash any car after buying it, as I doubt it affects how a car will perform in any noticeable way.

Well, thanks for the heads up, but at 1100 cars, i'm not in panic mode. But i can see how this would be annoying, and looks like another oversight, or poor choice by PD.
Just one question are these DLC cars tradeable? And if so, can people who have not purchased the DLC receive them?

No, they're not tradable.

Nope.

Actually, I tested it back in GT3, and it did improve top speed.

Being that I know PD leaves many things like this untouched, and the game still says a clean car will go faster, I believe you're wrong there.
I always wash my car when I'm in GTAuto, cause, why not?

The "presents" for free washes and oil changes are still stupid to me though. If it adds a millisecond to my game save time... I guess I should just use them up asap so they don't.

But there is no economic law that forces PD to set the engine restore price to 500k, is there? They first set this price way too high for some cars, and then they give you free coupons to circumvent paying the price they've set themselves.
It's not even realistic, a word some people like to use when defending PD's odd decisions.
Instead of implementing tickets, they should have removed the credit limit and lowered the prices of the restore. And while they're at it, change the tuning parts prices according to the car.

Looks like you haven't got the point. :sly:

The problem is that you can't sell/delete the DLC cars. Read post #1 again.

Sure you can repaint the DLC cars, but some karts have unique colors, and you don't get a paint chip for it.

You can also use a refresh ticket for the DLC cars, if engine wear is the reason why you want to replace it. But don't forget, these refresh tickets are un-tradeable! I would rather use it for one of my stealth cars instead of wasting it for a NCD DLC car. :sly:

This. Wasting a refresh ticket on a car I can just buy new from the NCD?

Thanks for the warning ZeGermanBastorD, but it came way too late. :( I've already bought about 50+ DLC cars, some of which I wanted to sell again only to find, to my horror, that this wasn't possible. Deleted a whole bunch of other cars and am at about 1950 cars again now. :banghead:

It's possible to delete the car tickets (given to you after purchasing the DLC from the PSN store), but once you've added a DLC car to your garage, it's there & you can't get rid of it. Even if you have now 2x, 3x, 4x,... of the same DLC car.

I don't really think that the very few not deletable DLC cars will hurt you.

Well, then don't think.

2000cars...... even if you have every single car in your garage, it would be enough free place for over 900 dublicates. Seriously?
Why would you need multiple copies of almost every car? And even if, you could just delete a couple of the deletable cars (about 98%).

Be happy to have them.

I don't have every single car in my garage. I've got every single car model in my garage, and that's already 1000+, and quite a few of them in all available colors. And quite a few others I still do want in all available colors, and I need more room. I'm constantly selling/deleting duplicates of premium cars now, to make even more room for standards, and I really do not want to keep my DLC duplicates. In retrospect, stupid mistake to buy them in the first place, but now I've got them, and these are taking up precious space. Yes, you've heard right, precious space. I'm not happy at all to have them. :grumpy:

Okay, what the hell does the real life money spent on DLC have to do with in-game credits needed to buy another one?

Yeah, I never got that either.

An option to delete DLC cars you can buy from the NCD is essential.

It sort of stands to reason that taking apart, then rebuilding an LMP or F1 engine would be MUCH more expensive than say, a '98 Honda Civic, but I suppose I see your point of PD just appointing a random high number for the work on higher performance cars.

Well, then don't think.
I think whenever I want.

Well, if you really need them in all available colours........
I'm sorry, I don't share that with you. Different opinions, preferences......

So if there are really a couple guys who have big problems with it, and I must say it looks like, then they should make it deletable. :)

Probably not essential, but nobody would mind if they give us the option.

--------------

Could it be that the reason for it is that PD just doesn't want to risk that someone delets the DLC cars by accident?

But now after the update you can buy them in the NCD, therefore it wouldn't be necessary anymore.
PD, please give them the option to delete the DLC cars!

It will sound idiotic but I think this is the reason:

Purchasing car packs from the PS Store and selling the cars in-game basically means you can, in a way, "purchase" in-game credits with real money. You buy a car pack for $3.99 and sell them in-game for credits.

Stupid? yeah. But we've seen worse.

To me it's no big deal. The car limit is 2000 and even on my main account I have something around 980 cars. Not even halfway through the limit.

True, but could they not make the initially gifted DLC cars impossible to sell, and then have any future purchased cars free. And anyway, you bought the DLC, you've paid to have the cars in the game, so so what if you want to sell them for credits?

PD should make the DLC cars , bought from the Dealership sellable/deletable (in-game) and the ones downloaded from the store remain unsellable/undeletable.

btw there are non-DLC cars you can´t sell or delete ingame. ;)
raVer

Really, which ones?

If you mean the promo cars (GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Special), 2010 Joey Logano #20 Gamestop CAMRY '10 (fantasy), XJ13 Race Car Chrome Line & Camaro SS Edge Special), they are basically DLC cars.

You need a DLC code for all 3 of them & you need to download these 3 cars from the PS Store, so thats good that you can't delete these cars. And these cars can't re-purchased from the NCD for ingame credits, like the Stealth or ChromeLine cars. :sly:

Looks that way.

In any case, I'd rather PD fix other things then worry that much about how many duplicates are stuck in my garage. Having a neat and pretty garage doesn't mean if online stays as terrible as it is at the moment.

So please PD, fix other things instead, this is petty and not really needed.

You are right about the "important fact", but please use your brain. :sly:

This "petty" issue can be fixed in maybe 10 minutes by a PD employee, only by changing one number in the game (0=deletable, 1=not deletable). :)

In good PD tradition, 2.03 will give you 10 Delete Tickets that you can use on any DLC car (except 4WDs and red cars).

This made my day.👍

The ironic thing is, I bet that's what PD is going to do. Not to forget, all car maintenance tickets are not tradeable. :ouch:

I could understand the reason when the car restore ticket would turn every used car in a 0/0/0 car, but it doesn't. You can't remove tuning parts, wins & switches with the ticket. Even if you use the ticket on a 0/0/0 UCD car, you'll end up with a 0/0/1 car, because you have to enter the car to use the ticket, and entering a car will add a switch to it.

I really don't get it. :dunce:

I've often wondered why people bother with the third zero. How many times someone's gotten in and out the car does nothing to affect its performance. Why not just call them 0/0 cars?

I came to the conclusion some time ago that most of the traders have serious OCD issues.

That stinks. I don't have the DLC at the moment but it'll be annoying not being able to remove them..

It's to make sure the car is completely fresh. No butt prints on the seat or anything 👍

Had this problem with the new GTR Black Edition. BLACK EDITION I thought, let me go buy the black! So I bought the black, wanted to sell the standard blue.. Got that message. Not a big deal, but it's an annoyance.

Hope this gets fixed! 👍

I just bought a few mini's for the paint chips (hot chocolate MMMM) and found out these cars are just gonna take up space in my garage.

I definitely want the option to sell or delete them.

You could create a dummy account on the ps3,
Start a new game
Get the RX7 TC (If you have the car pack 1)
Complete a drift trial
Then buy a mini, so you'll get the paint chip you want, send it to your account and that's it.

Stealth Cars only cost 50 credits to overhaul engine and rigidity restore.

I did this today with the new Mini Clubman. I wanted the nice metallic brown one to replace the white one i got as DLC & cannot delete the white one. I don't think DLC cars should be able to be sold but we should have the option to delete them if we like.

This exactly.. 👍

I have the perfect solution for this

DLC Cars given to us in ticket form, cant be sold. but ones bought from the NCD can be.

(I say this as I have 15 Aventadors in my garage that I cant get rid of, and it erks me)

I won't make that mistake again. I actually bought five yesterday, but I backed up first, and then restored after. If I wouldn't have progressed as far as I did once I realized last time, I would have gone back to a previous backup too, from before I bought all my DLC cars, but I would have lost more than I was willing to in that case, so I've still got plenty of unwanted DLC cars sitting in my garage. And yes, it erks me. Still hoping for this to be implemented in a future update.

I've had this problem with both Mini's now. I wanted metallic orange with stripes for my Cooper S from pack 2, but repainting the car removes the stripes! :ouch: Same with the Countryman, repainting it doesn't retain the stripes. :grumpy:

I found this out the hard way...I bought a 2012 GTR to give to a friend (after already recieving one for free when buying the DLC), and it won't let me gift either. Now I'm stuck with two 2012 GTRs...so I put one online for people to borrow.

You can't gift or borrow DLC cars. I don't really mind that, as it makes sense, otherwise there's no point buying the DLC, but it doesn't make sense that you can't delete cars you can buy in the dealership.

I'm sorry to say, but even though you can put DLC cars on share, the people on the other end can't actually borrow them. It throws up some kind of error message like "you can't borrow this car". :indiff:

I'm sure most people would suggest having a stock one and a tuned one though. That seems to be a valid reason to keep both.
