^It does actualy have a point though. There are some major similarities between egyptian religion (and others) and christianity. Check it out for yourself.

Also, calm down.

I don't know if I'm surprised. I'm bummed when I see people don't have Jesus as their Savior. You wouldn't wish hell for your worst enemy. Not even Hitler or bin Laden. Hell is just the worst thing ever.

God loves us so much that he won't force himself on anyone. He won't manipulate you to get you to believe. Meaning everyone has the will to believe or not. Someone can look at the world and wonder. And then believe from what's around us. There's proof all over but people give on to what seems logical or what their mind can handle. Sadly that falls short.

If that's so, I consider it extremely hypocritical when some religious fundamentalist (of any faith) to consider some sort of paradise in afterlife to be exclusive to their religion or denomination. Especially when you said previously,
You wouldn't wish hell for your worst enemy.

Surely a supposedly all-loving God wouldn't condemn a person to hell for following the "wrong" religion?

And what's wrong with logic? If it weren't for good ol' logic, I highly doubt that many breakthroughs in electronics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics etc. would have been achieved.

Who said you go to hell for not believing in God? Even though God loves Atheists, he tries to make the believe but not force them to believe.

Uh... no.

According to the Bible, good deeds and acts cannot get you into Heaven, "but only through faith..."

Most religions are the same... except for those that have no concept of Heaven and instead cite reincarnation and continuous striving through life to either achieve Nirvan or oneness with Brahma or some othersuch.

Nothing wrong with logic.
God doesn't send anyone to he'll. He doesn't want to loose anyone. God said he will save those who believe in Jesus and call on His name to save them. He gives us choice. It is our choice to believe or not and yes it is hard to believe in something or someone you can't see. The person who does not believe and doesn't accept Jesus gift of forgiveness and eternal life he freely gives us then that person sends themselves to hell. God does not, the non believer does. God has given us the gift of eternal life. We have to accept his free gift. If we don't we go to hell.

The reason people go to help is simple. But a non believer cannot understand nor believe this nor agree.

God is perfect. No sin. He hates sin. He sent Jesus to die for you. God placed all sin past present and future on Jesus when Jesus died on the cross. As if to say I love you so much I place all sin on my son Jesus as if he sinned and you never did. Jesus died and went to hell. God raised him on the third day because Jesus lived a perfect life for us. So now all God is saying is just believe everything in me that I did this for you and call on me. Just ask me to forgive your sin, confess, admit you do sin, ask me to save you and come into your heart. That's all God wants and God will do as he said. He forgives you for anything you have done and will do. He then sets you free from sin and death and he will accept you in heaven. When you accept Jesus into your heart as lord and Savior then God wipes all your sins clean. When you accept him then he makes you clean. It's as if you never sinned in the first place. He lo es you so much that he sent his only son to take the sin of the world on himself even though he is perfect and didn't sin. Accept the gift of pardon Jesus died to give you and you'll be saved. Once you accept his free gift then you will begin to believe more and understand.

I don't understand faith to be honest. I have a hard time with it.

Also nothing I say or other believers say can make you believe. That's where faith comes in and I honestly don't understand it.

Jesus never went to hell. Official canon is that he went to Limbo to retrieve the souls left there waiting for his coming. You really should read your Bible.

So... I can lie, cheat, murder, steal... commit genocide... but at least believe in God and I get a free pass to heaven? In other words, Torquemada is sitting up there playing a harp after ordering the genocide of the Jews and Gypsies? No thanks... I'd rather share hell with Mahatma Gandhi than share paradise with Torquemada.

No, you would not rather be in hell. It's not up you to say who god loves or lets into heaven. God loves us so much he offers us eternal life if we believe and make him our savior. There are consequences for our actions before and after one is saved.

I read my bible. Jesus defeated Satan in hell when he was crucified.

One has to make Jesus their lord and Savior. Believing only is not enough.

I don't. Prozac is my saviour.

It's definitely unrequited on my part.

Pray, do tell, how does one go about making Jesus or God one's saviour? Does it involve rejecting science, because I happen to like the Discovery Channel.

Book, Chapter and Verse, please?

You're talking to someone who studied at a Catholic school.

Seriously. Jesus went to the Jewish "limbo" (or apparently, "sheol", as it is called here), where the souls of the faithful departed were awaiting entry into Heaven.

At no time did he enter the realm of the damned... except in the imaginations of those who incorrectly interpret the Bible through imperfect translation into English.

It's up to me whether I believe or not, isn't it? "God" has nothing to say about it. If I choose not to believe in a God who would let mass murderers go to heaven merely for "believing" in Christ, then he can't force me to go to his "heaven".

I like the discovery Channel too.
To make Jesus your savior so you can go to heaven requires that you truly Believe in Jesus, that he is the son of God and you believe he died on the cross and God raised him. Just believe and then you just tell him you believe and then you just admit you sin and want Jesus to come into your heart.

So an example is like this.

1. You truly believe.
2. You pray and ask Jesus to save you.
3. This is you tell him you believe what he did and you admit you sin and want him to be your lord and Savior.

Like this.

Jesus, I believe that you are God's son. I believe you died for me and God raised you. I admit I do sin. I make mistakes. Forgive me please and be my lord and Savior.

That's it. Once you do that then immediately Jesus comes into your heart and the Holy Spirit does. You are saved from hell in that instant.

You need to be sincere in asking Jesus to save you. Be sincere that you believe. When he gives you the holy spirit then you will believe even more and God will show him to you. You will begin to understand things. Your life will immediately get better. You will be blessed beyond anything you can imagine. All God's promises are yours. Anything you ask for in Jesus name will be given to you. Meaning God wants no harm to come to you and you ask for something in Jesus name, his plan for you, if it's good for you, then he will give it to you.

All this takes is child like faith. Just ask and be sincere and God is yours.

Truly this is beyond words. Once you make Jesus your lord and Savior you will be amazed at how much God loves you and how much he wants to give you your hearts desires.

I have been blessed tons since making Jesus my lord. I began to see things and understand. God has blessed me in so many ways. He loves me and wants to bless me and show his love to me.

Can I do the same with Islam? I'm not sure Christianity is the right choice for me.
I think Islam offers a better deal in the long run. How would I go about accepting Mohammed into my heart?

No, you don't go to hevan for merely believing in God. You have to make him your lord. When someone does this then most likely they're not going to mass murder. Those people whoever yer talking about more then likely did not truly make Jesus their Savior.

If you want to go to hell that is your choice. But ifyou truly knew how bad it is then you would not want to go there. But since you are not saved you don't believe anything of this and can't understand.

Final words.
Weather one believes this or not you will stand before God and know the truth. If you haven't made him your lord then it's too late at that point.

Why is it too late? I though the Christian god was a forgiving god. I could ask really nicely and then maybe he'll let me stay.

Hell can't be all that bad, unless they've a bar full of warm beer.

Uh... kinda the whole point of believing is that if you believe Yahweh or Jehovah exists, then you automatically accept that he is your Lord and God and bam! You're saved.

Belief in God =/= mass murder? Oh, so then the Inquisition never happened? Joan of Arc was never executed as a heretic? The Salem Witch Trials never happened? These things were done by people who whole-heartedly believed in Jesus Christ and believed that they were doing the right thing by burning/hanging/drowning heretics and demons.

Total belief in God and Jesus the Saviour? Check.

Total willingness to kill in the name of God and Jesus the Saviour? Double-check.

How can I not understand? I'm Roman Catholic. I've been studying the Bible in school since before you were born.

Yet how can I have faith in a faith wherein the priests, in the middle of their pious homilies about humility and faith casually tell my mother, who's a Protestant, that she is going straight to hell because she doesn't believe in the exact right flavor of Christianity?

I'm sure I'd feel bad about attending a Protestant ceremony and being told I'm going to hell for using graven images, too... but then, I don't,so I don't.

Once you die its too late.
God forgives us but we have to have made Jesus our savior to receive his forgiveness of sins. If we don't then we can't be forgiven. Jesus took our sin away but we have to accept his gift. We are sin without Jesus and God can't save us without Jesus. No Jesus no forgiveness and that person goes to hell and misses out on all God is and all his love for us.

People do what they want and are sometimes not doing the right thing. Doesn't change who god is. And God disciplines people and punishes people for their sin. What those people did doesn't make them right no matter what they believe.

Just believing in God doesn't save you. No, you have to make him your lord. Believing isn't enough. You have to come to him and make him your lord.

Lots of people think they're saved because they believe in God. But belief is the first step.

I think my wife loves me more than God or Jesus does. She makes me toasted cheese and ham sandwiches, God never made me anything so delicious.

Who says we have sin?

Why?

And what if I live somewhere where there is no Christianity and no pastor to convert me?

If God truly "loved" everyone, he'd make his faith universally known, wouldn't he? Not just to a percentage of the population.

Imagine the millions upon millions who have been born, lived and died without even hearing the term "Christianity".

Where's the love for them?

Just believing in God doesn't save you. No, you have to make him your lord. Believing isn't enough. You have to come to him and make him your lord.

Doesn't change the facts.

They believed in God.

They made him their Lord. You can't get any more subservient to the Lord than priestly vows, lifelong celibacy and poverty.

-

Even if they believed "incorrectly", they wholeheartedly accepted the faith, and everything they did was according to the Bible. Which allows for the killing of the heathen.

-

So... by your logic, they get to go to heaven.

-

And yet those who have never heard of God, who have acted righteously all their lives and who have striven to help their fellow men out of the goodness of their hearts, are condemned to his hell.

-

And no mucking about with "natural knowledge of God" please, you would not know a thing about Christ if you hadn't read a Bible... just like every single Christian over the past thousand years.

Now if a tribe in Papua New Guinea were to write an exact copy of the gospel in their native tongue with a visit from the missionaries, that would be another thing entirely...

That guy in the. Video is so full of Satan. So full of ****.

Full of Satan? :indiff:

Ummm, I guess we aren't labelled "The Sick Human Animal" for nothing!" :dopey:

It's never good having your entire belief system contested, it means self realisation and less reliance on a herd mentality.

Religion today = Cash, cash, cash. "Show me the money!", screams the minister.

"Show me the money!", screams the minister.

Wasn't that Jerry Maguire?

Religion sometimes seems to be about the money. The biggest organisation on the planet is the Catholic church.

Scientology springs to mind........

Indeed it was Jerry Maguire. It's nice to imagine the pope doing the same though along with just about every perculiar diocese of the Christian church.

Religion wants your fear. The oldest institution of time geared up to control society, take its cash and give nothing in return. It reminds me of the episode of South Park, where they find a load of "Space Cash". Valueless and in abundance, the Space Cash is revered and consumed by the people when in reality it is valueless. A bit like the monetary system today then, where you cannot exchange your $ for a slice of gold.

The man in the sky says its all true, so it must be.

I don't. Prozac is my saviour.
Klonopin.👍 Prozac make me angry.

I love the all too common assumption that no meaning has been lost through the translation process. Studying the KJV or any translation really, is equivalent to reading the Bible Cliff Notes Version. It's sad that people really don't see the lunacy in assuming the book that they are reading is the actual inerrant word of god.

Religion wants your fear.

And preys on ignorance.
