@UKMikey

People can say whatever they want to right?

I would not consider the U.S. as a whole, or even whatever religious president we have(because they are all or claim to be) to consider such acts in the name of God they way @Scaff suggests. The pursuit of righteousness is a battle never won because if you claim to be one of god the standard is instantly raised to sainthood. That should not be the case.

Striving to be a better person and failing to the same level as whomever is not something that should be looked down on, but it is.

@Scaff

I did say I think, "not believed"

He very well may be, but like I said I don't think it was greatly believed. I don't know from hell or high water and tbh I don't really care.

But if we are speaking of electable and so forth, that was the idea, he has to be right? To question a man's conscience is an area I will never tread on 👍

So exactly how does he fail to be classed as a Christian?
Call me racist. We can start with his name.
Where he and his family originated from.
Pictures of him wearing Muslim clothing.
And lets not forget to mention he gave the enemy weapons.
I'll say he puts on a good show though.

I've got a Jewish name, but was Christened and am now an atheist.
My wife's family originate from India, but are all Catholic.
I've worn clothing from various faiths (as have members of the British Royal family - who are quite literally the heads of the Church of England).
Just about every US president has given weapons to people who ended up being the enemy.

Not much of a compelling argument at all.

That is a bit extreme don't ya think?

He's a globalist atheist I would think, those words are not light right? Well anyway, that is what I would say.

But he was not wearing it for work.It was a family gathering.
Who knows he might had a change of faith as you said.
Or he can be faking it.
Only he really knows.

I have no evidence to support my claim except said pictures.
But something seems to put me off on the notion of him actually being Christian.

People can say whatever they want to and other people are free to form opinions of them based on what they say amongst other things.

I'm not sure whether Obama is a Christian or not but he's certainly not one of these Christians.

Obama is Christian?! Excuse me while I laugh!!
American? Yes.
Christian? No.

haha funny :)

First are you really Christian?
Are you baptised? Do you go to church every Sunday? Do you know most of the prayers? Do you pray to God? Have you read the bible? Do you live according to how Jesus and Bible tells a Christian should?

If you answer no to any of these questions then you are not Christian, you are just claiming that you are. Or am I wrong? So if I am wrong why do you doubt that Obama is Christian if he himself claims he is.
I know of many Christians from Middle-east, how can you say that they are not Christian because they dress differently or live in totally different cultures? So being Christian is the same as being white from a western country?

Think about it...

But when we are talking about things that Christians should follow, there is something called the 10 commandments, so it is not really unconditional. I mean what Christian would want to burn in hell :D

Are you sure you are not mixing cultural dress with the concept of religious dress? As an example I know a good number of Muslims from various parts of the world and curturally the ones from Asia dress very differently to the ones from the Middle East, who dress very differently from the ones from Europe. The exact same applies to Christians, Buddhists, Hindu's, etc.

I'm aware of the various 'Obama is a secret Muslim' conspiracy theories that have done the rounds, and not a single one of them stands up to even the most basic of examination. What he does have is a track record of church attendance (which long predates his time as POTUS and has been witnessed by a rather large amount of people) and his self identification as a Christian. Oh and contrary to another myth, Muslims are not allowed to lie to non-believers about faith wholesale).

I have no evidence to support my claim except said pictures.

Could that perhaps be a natural perception of what being a Christian means to you? Keep in mind that we are talking about the largest faith on Earth, one practiced by a wide range of people, many of whom will not dress the same, have similar names, languages, cultures, customs and practices.

Christians don't fit a single mould, even within a single country.

If he says so it means quite a bit tbh, actions speak as well and he does seem to act as a Christian would. Besides all that unless he is blatantly going against his brother we are not to judge. I tend to think he is sincere now that I think of it a bit more.

Not only that but he did so to a (predominantly) Muslim audience in Cairo, using the words "I am a Christian".

When I think of Christian leaders of secular nations I think of Viktor, this clip is in response to immigration of course.

Europe is the community of Christian, free, and independent nations; equality of men and women; fair competition and solidarity; pride and humility; justice and mercy.

Please note I do not believe he means all are or must be. Thoughts?

I dont think you understand why I did asked him that, now he kinda has a cheat sheet.
I don't need a cheat sheet. I do not and have never accepted him as my creator, my lord or my savior.

But I'll answer your questions so you can get to know me.

First are you really Christian?
I'm an Atheist/Antithesis
Are you baptised?
No.
Do you go to church every Sunday?
I went to church every Sunday for one summer vacation with my grandparents as a pre-teen. Lets just say I wasn't interested in being forced to go. Or interested in being there.
Do you know most of the prayers?
No. I don't even know the Lords prayer said before dinner. That also made being at church awkward.
Have you read the bible?
Yes. 2 Times in jail... Not much else to do it does have some interesting stories in it that you can learn from even if you don't consider yourself religious.
Do you live according to how Jesus and Bible tells a Christian should?
I guess you can say yes. I mean, a lot of the rules in the bible are common sense or law.
If you answer no to any of these questions then you are not Christian, you are just claiming that you are. Or am I wrong?
I have never claimed to be Christian, I was brought up Cristian though. Search my name in this thread. I have never swayed my opinion.

He might be Cristian, but he has his Muslim side of the family. He can't forget what he was taught at an earlier age. And he will always have a soft spot when the subject is brought up having anything to do with Islam.
I disagree with my family on religion. But I will defend them when I read inaccuracies being directed their way.

Man some people, you are missing the point.. You know you did not really need to answer the questions at all, it was hypothetical questions so to speak to make you think about your claims and how strange they sounds. I am an agnostic and I do not go around and proudly tell that I am not sure if there is a God or not. What is wrong with Atheists trying to show of that that they don't believe in God, are they trying to compete with religions fundamentalists?
If you don't care about God then why do you care if he has relative that are of a different faith then him?
So if he was a Jew, Muslim or something else he would not be able to become the president?

You asked I answered. You even admit you rigged the question.
Considering he has Islamic family, I don't see it far fetched he's going soft over there. Take that how you want...

I don't think he is @TenEightyOne.
I was just entertaining their question.

hehe, rigged. Sure, I don't think anybody can decide for anybody else what they really believe in. And those questions were just an example for you to think for a moment. Atheists sometimes accuse believers that they interpret their holy scriptures too literally. And what do we see here? Any way, why should it matter if he was a Muslim or something else if he was elected?

I'm not telling you what to think he is. I said, I don't think he is.

What is there to think about? Church is nothing but a show IMO. You don't need to go to Church to believe in God.
Just like standing in front of the camera saying something doesn't make it true. I could have told you I was Christian and you would have never known unless, someone who knows me called me out. I say God bless America, cause it's what everyone says. Get where I'm going?

I stand by my opinion. But just like God, I might change my mind if enough evidence is proven.

I don't know, what do you see? I never pushed my beliefs on anyone, I'm not telling you to agree with me either. All I did was express mine. I'm curious why you want to assume I think that. And to be blunt some people on both sides do...

Let me have a guess. It's the fact that you don't like him?
No. I've expressed why in the election thread many times...

"You can keep your doctor" "Premiums will be $2500+ cheaper." etc... etc... etc...
IMO Obama is a flat out liar(that is why I don't believe/trust a word he says). If Trump ends up lieing like him, I'll have an equal amount of distaste for him.

Edit: I don't think Trump is Christian either, if you care. He bigly embarrassed himself down here trying to quote the bible on a verse he "lives by".
It's a show for the vote, I think you or someone even said that in the election thread.
