Simple question.

Edit, Sharkport/Xport/Maxdrive = same 👍

I've got an Sharkport, an apple (fruit ... granny smith) and an Apple (computer ... a mac mini).

Sharkport qualify's as a maxdrive, so vote yes!

I don't own a maxdrive, and I'll wait patiently for an opportunity to get one. I simply have other prior things to invest in.

Yes.
I imagine you will only find that sort of voting here because of the count of regulars vs the walk-ins.

The wrs is a tight gang of racers and I doubt many of those regulars are without replay devices.

Bought an X-port when I joined the WRS (almost 2 years ago), then a Max Drive when my first PS2 "died" and I had to buy a new slim one.

BTW Dion, I edited the thread title to reflect your edit in the first post.

Is it a preliminary step before the next poll that would ask "Do you think providing replays should be compulsory [option]for the X top times[/option] in the WRS ?

...and I have here in front of me four apples, one pear and five bananas. Plus 2 laptops, expecting the third one to be delivered this week, and no (Apple) Mac. :P

Flat-out

I think that will be the logical conclusion to the 'rule change' thread Cyril. It will be the only way of integrating the 'full disclosure' outcome of that thread whilst maintaining the integrity of the cheat free nature of the WRS's honour system (if that is possible).

All capable of providing a replay, must provide one.
Anyone not doing so will have no points for the main leaderboard, but their times will still stand for x-number of weeks till they can get a replay device (say 4 weeks) and after that if they still cannot provide a replay, then all their times from then will be 'unofficial' till they get one.

Just a well thought out suggestion.

Max drive ordered on the 12th may, still waiting for it to be dispatched. :ill:

Good price though, £9.99.

Then I've got to work out how to use it of course, there must be a thread in here somewhere with tips on this, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. There's a red tick in it for you. 👍

Edit: I'll vote when it turns up. Just in case. :nervous:

Edit after following post:  Neil 👍

Agreed!

When I found out about the WRS and this whole GTP On-Line racing thing, I rushed out and bought an A.R. MaxDrive THAT DAY! (There was one in stock at a local EBGames shop.) I hadn't even qualified for the WRS yet when I bought my MaxDrive -- I was under the mistaken assumption that I had to have one to upload my qualifying replay. :) But I'm glad I bought it -- being able to transfer replays back and forth is well worth it, if you're at all serious about on-line racing...

I had been searching for a way to race live on-line (like tricking the PS2 into thinking it's on a LAN when it's in fact on the Internet) and failed in that attempt -- but found GTP in the process, and haven't looked back since! (I'm still looking forward to real live on-line racing in GT5, though.)

I don't want you to leave us, of course not, but here's the kind of link you were looking for.

I wouldn't leave -- I've got a "lifetime" membership here. :)

But that's exactly the type of software I was thinking of -- I figured someone, somewhere had created it... So why don't we use this software and have "real" on-line races here?

Main reason is because it's almost 11pm for me here, it's probably 4 or 5pm only for you, and Aussie will wake up soon.
And how can you chat while racing on-line ? Unless you have your PC on-line too, next to your seat and you're logged on MSN.
Plus the fact that the number of cars is limited.
I know some do it from time, but I've never tried myself.
