Dodge Omni GLHS

the Shelby name is a trademark and because of this turn 10 would be required to pay a licence fee to have the right to use the Shelby name

Did he lend his name to the Omni, rather than upgrade it himself? Could be why it's listed as a Dodge Shelby and not a Shelby Dodge if you get me.

Shelby set up a shop in Whittier, California, where he and his people did the modifications.

In UK we had it as this:

Talbot sunbeam.

Nice car as i can make it into a UK car i know also.

It's very interesting how they wireframe the real car! guys actually have to think like a 3d modeler on the spot and work out the most efficient way to map it.

Is there a glitch with the car where the stock decals disappear if you go into the paint menu?

I noticed that, wanted my wheels black and now my decals are gone...

Every racecar loses its decals when you try to paint anything (even just the wheels), so it's not really new behavior. But it doesn't treat the Shelby/GLHS logos like stripes on other cars? Haven't downloaded the pack yet.

Was reading this but it didn't register until Wolfe answered what you guys were asking. The stock liveries in the game aren't like the liveries we create, understandably, they don't use the same livery editor that we use when they create theirs. So when you make edits they have to delete their liveries so you can do yours. Not a glitch, just part of the livery mechanism.

The RS1800 loses the 'RS1800' logos but not the coloured stripes. A little inconsistent.

Yeah, when you change the color of the Ford Mustang King Cobra, the stripes stay on the vehicle, as with pretty much every other street vehicle in the game. Dunno why the Omni would be any different, especially when you're simply painting the wheels, not the body itself!

If I'm not mistaken wheel paint (& window tint) has always be integral to the 'livery set'. So if you were to buy a livery from the storefront the wheel colour is locked into the livery too. Also if you paint a car with stock stripes, the base colour changes but the stripes stay the same. It's always been that way IIRC.

Eh who knows really, regardless I think they shouldn't disappear no matter what painting you do.

All you have to do is just make a decal layer for each section of the base color to get rid of the stripes. Besides, I like the stock GLHS decals. :sly:

sometimes it doesnt cover it up (like on the door of the ford GT) and sometimes they left a white feint outline, both are a bitch to work around. :banghead:

The GLHS was the Shelby Modified Version there where only 500 produced. so it is in fact a Shelby vehicle dodge donated the last 500 for the model year 1987 and they became the GLHS based off of the Dodge "Shelby" GLH and GLHT, same with the 87 GLHS, also last 500 of the model year, based on the Charger.
