Does Anyone Watch Wrestling? (WWE, AEW, TNA, NWA, etc)

Y'know, if they didn't insist on Wrestlemania being 250 hours long just because they're not limited by cable provider timeslots, maybe we wouldn't need to book geriactrics in dismal filler matches like this. Just kinda throwing that out there.

Well, they also had the roster. They just fired so much people you could make a Wrestling company out of them.

But even with that, I think WWE would still go ahead with matches like this anyway. Everything on this card screams throwing the concept of storytelling out the window just to attract people who wouldn't care about Wrestling and today's WWE wrestlers in the first place

Plenty of news from last night's Raw.

Edge v AJ Styles has been made for Mania after Styles accepted Edge's challenge, Edge then lost it and hit Styles in the balls before hitting a conchairto on him so he has now turned heel.

Finn Balor is the new US champion after beating Damien Priest in a good match but they turned Priest heel afterwards and he attacked Balor which could lead to a rematch at Mania.

There was a scary/weird finish to the RK-Bro/Street Profits tag match when it looked like Orton maybe injured his shoulder off of Ford's amazing frog-splash, Belair whipped Becky Lynch with her hair weave after Lynch kept on targeting it during the six women tag match, it did a lot of damage as there was bruises and marks on Lynch stomach instantly!

Raw theme song has changed, as has Tomasso Ciampa's music. Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rouseys match will be on the Saturday at Mania which is the same night as the Raw women's title match, I don't mind this. VEER IS STILL COMING TO RAW! FIVE MONTHS OF PROMO PACKAGES!

If Brodus Clay and Emmalina are anything to go buy, Veer is going to flop at this point

Its not funny any more, it was funny around Christmas time but its just ridiculous now, he has had matches on Main Event...which is taped before Raw!

He'll debut in hour two of the show, lose to a random midcarder and then two months later on Smackdown he and Shanky will be the next generic heel tag team nobody cares about. And then WWE Creative will wonder why he didn't catch fire like they expected.

Vince McMahon has his much hyped interview with Pat McAfee tomorrow, it'll hopefully give us some idea if Vince will have a match with Pat at Mania, I think it'll be Pat v Austin Theory...but Vince is definitely crazy enough!

Kevin Owens continued to do the 'I hate Texas' thing last night so the Stone Cold rumour mill continues, I'm starting to think now it'll be a tag match between Owens and Rollins v Austin and a mystery partner, I don't think Rollins has anything else to do on the Mania card sadly, he could have got involved in the Reigns/Lesnar match to make it a triple threat but I think that moment has gone.

I feel it's more like Tony bought the rights to the ROH tape library and they threw in the rest of the promotion as a freebie.

Though if ROH ended up being their equivalent of NXT, I wouldn't be against it.

I can see AEW using ROH as a regional showcase brand. As of now ROH is supposed to be using mostly one night deals, not sure how sustainable that would be on it's own but if it's like a way to bring in a number of indie guys and give them a marquis match against Mox, MJF, Sammy, etc., And even a way to tour...

ROH as the traveling circus, AEW settles into locations semi-permanetly?

Heard Pat McAfee's interview with Vince was pretty good, I'll give it a proper watch over the weekend, He did say that Pat will have a match at Mania with no opponent named yet, Vince didn't mention or even hint that he will return to the ring at Mania, Vince also said that he will induct the Undertaker into the Hall Of Fame, which seems fair enough IMO.

There were a couple of interesting WWE injury reports I saw today, apparently Asuka has been medically cleared to return, and Bayley is weeks from being medically cleared and won't make Mania, I don't think anyone expected her to make the show.

Called it that he would induct the Undertaker.

Ricochet is the new Intercontinental champion, he beat Sami Zayn on Smackdown last night, perhaps surprising but Zayn v Johnny Knoxville has since been made for Wrestlemania and that match doesn't need the title, happy for Ricochet.

Pat McAfee v Austin Theory has also been made for Mania after Theory came on the show to challenge Pat.

The big Madison Square Garden show is tonight with Brock Lesnar defending his title against a still unnamed opponent, heard the match will have storyline implications.

So the Brock Lesnar thing at Madison Square Garden then.

Brock defended his title against....Austin Theory, now Brock did win comfortably but whilst he was celebrating he got jumped by the Bloodline, He did take them all out initially but Heyman caused a distraction which led to Roman attacking him with a chair, hitting Brock on the side of his head with the steel steps which caused him to bleed and then hit him with a Rock Bottom on the stairs, he then held both titles a loft over Lesnar and said 'Brock Lesnar...acknowledge me!'

So none was this was that major but it does add some more drama to their match.

William Regal is now on AEW after making his debut for the company last night at Revolution, he will have a backstage role as well as on screen, maybe similar to when he was on NXT.

Vader will be inducted in to this years Hall of Fame.

I'm surprised RK-Bro won back the Raw Tag Team Championships. I thought adding Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins to the match at the last minute was because WWE had no clue what to do with the Tag Team Championships and would just slap it on some Main Eventers.

Kevin Owens called out Stone Cold Steve Austin last night to show up at Mania and Stone cold said he would give his answer today, at the moment its not a match he would have with Owens rather an appearance on the KO Show.

Becky Lynch has suffered a fractured voice box and will miss a few weeks, its a real injury and isn't related to what happened on Raw last week when she got whipped by Belair and her hair weave, the match at Mania between the two is still on.

i think hes been brought to help tony handle roh

So, Ziggler is NXT Champion now I guess...

Hoping for a 'Mania match with him and Breaker.

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means! It will be interesting to see what all happened from the latest big show from AEW tonight on AEW Dynamite. I'll try to check in to see the PPV results.

I'm curious to why they did that. I thought Ziggler was only there to push Breaker

I can only think why is that Raw needs a major title program since Brock Lesnar is twiddling his thumbs on Smackdown with the WWE Championship. So the NXT Championship will have to do for now

This makes me think the whole Title Unification stipulation won't work long term (not that this whole idea is any good to begin with). One show will have the major Championship fued while the other (likely Raw) won't have anything. Unless Raw is getting a new World Championship eventually and we are saying bye to the Universal Championship

I have heard that both Fox and USA want a major title on each of their programs, so if that is true then the unification stuff is rubbish.

Hoping for its just to drop the Universal Championship and we bring back the World Heavyweight Championship

AEW Dynamite musings...

* The Demo God Chris Jericho opened things up and... methinks he's turned heel during that promo...

* There was an awesome match between Dante Martin going up against the AEW World Champion, "Hangman" Adam Page. Dante gave everything he had in this one. Unfortunately, the Hangman still came out the winner.

* It was great seeing William Regal again when he paired up with Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. Danielson and Moxley took on The Workhorsemen.

* You know, I think Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus are fun to watch as AEW Tag Team Champions.

* He's Baaaaaack... Jeff Hardy appeared on AEW to help out Matt Hardy. So, uh... Team Xtreme, the Hardy Boyz are back together again... again...

* There was a very good match between Leyla Hirsch and Thunder Rosa. Thunder Rosa won against LH. Thunder Rosa will get a Women's Championship match in San Antonio in a steel cage against Britt Baker.

* I knew C.M. Punk and Maxwell Jacob Friedman were going to have a brutal match at Revolution, and you bet they did. C.M. Punk knocked off MJF at Revolution.

I didn't see the final match of the night, but it was a pretty good AEW Dynamite. Get ready for Rampage this Friday night if you're an AEW fan!

For anyone attending, Wrestlemania Axxess has been cancelled.

It'll be replace by the "Superstore" which is just a Merchandise store and anyone who ordered tickets for Axxess will be refunded

So its kicked off between Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville now.

Yesterday Sami managed to get Johnny's number and he just bombarded him with annoying text messages but today Johnny got his own back by putting Sami's number on a plane banner and its been flying around LA!

Sami has put a screenshot on Twitter of the random messages he's been getting.
