Raw was a but more quieter last night after a chaotic couple of weeks, it was more about the action than the talking.

Bobby Lashley, LA Knight and Liv Morgan all qualified for their Chamber matches, Jey Uso picked up the win for his team against Imperium and he faces Gunther for the IC title next week, Nakamura beat Sami Zayn in the main event and when Zayn got beaten down by Nakamura and McIntyre after it was Cody who made the save, and its McIntyre v Cody next week.

Only two promos last night but the Cody-Seth thing was great once again, it was another big hint to that tag match against Roman and Rock especially when Seth said 'I'll be a Shield for you' to Cody which got a huge pop, the match still hasn't been made but you just know its going to happen and I wouldn't be surprised if it does get made this week at some point as Roman and Rock are back on Smackdown. Becky Lynch gave a good promo which also involved Nia Jax and Rhea, it was pretty standard match building stuff but Becky did have a great line saying 'my daughter is a little confused as to why daddy is fighting Maui'. If you know you know!

And lastly R-Truth get another mention! He had his match with JD, JD won (his finisher looks good!) R-Truth got attacked by Judgment Day again after, DIY made the save. Later R-Truth thought DIY was DX and that DX saved him!

Would love it if "R-Truth thinks a long-dissolved faction has helped him" becomes a thing, and if one of those was the glorious cheese that was 3 Count

Not the only Moana reference as when Cody thanked Seth for having his back at the conference Seth said "What can I say except... youre welcome."

Im a bit iffy on incorporating Seth in it, on one hand, it makes sense especially as Roman actually never beat Seth and Seth assisting the win over Roman (even winning a supposed tag team match) will greatly put over the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the World Heavyweight Championship match itself will become an afterthought as Seth will be balancing 2 feuds at once

I have one big interesting question regarding Seth.

What if he isn't actually the champion come Wrestlemania?

Just something I have been thinking of the last few days.

Shotzi suffered a major knee injury on Tuesday night, it was during an NXT taping when she was facing Lyra Valkryia for the women's title and there was a spot on the ring apron which went wrong, the match was stopped so it will interesting to see how that plays out when the episode airs next week, Shotzi was sue to compete in a Chamber qualifier on Smackdown tomorrow but has now been replaced by Alba Fyre.

Can't we just have a completed story?. I think any sort of swerve to prolong the story will just be an eye roll moment.

This all really needed to end 2 years ago

Seth screws Cody so Cody can win the title at the Garden.

Advertised stuff for Smackdown tonight.

The Rock & Roman Reigns.
Logan Paul v The Miz-Chamber qualifier.
Dominik Mysterio v Kevin Owens-Chamber qualifier.
Naomi v Alba Fyre-Chamber qualifier.
Zelina Vega v Tiffany Stratton-Chamber qualifier.

Bayley and IYO Sky scheduled to be there too, its a pretty stacked show!

I don't remember Heel Rock being so mediocre, compared Seth and Cody promo that added a lot of weight to this new story and acknowledged everything that transpired on Raw. This promo just trailed and buried the Royal Rumble. Trying to make a sport comparison on how sport teams come back and claw after failing but thats exactly what Cody did to win Royal Rumble and earned that right for another chance...

Generally what heels do...

I don't get the whole "they're a heel" argument when it comes bad storytelling. He wasn't even really talking down Cody Rhodes, just the fans and completely ignoring one of the biggest matches of the year all together.

It's like when people respond negatively to Reigns getting help from the Bloodline to win and the defense is "he's a heel" ignoring the problem that it really is just dragging. At the beginning when Jey Uso was helping Reigns win it worked great for both character worth with Reigns manipulating Jey but during the whole Bloodline stick, its all hollow and doesnt mean anything anymore and its just boring because they keep dragging the storyline until the next Wrestlemania and can't think of anything interesting to fill on these gaps. Face or Heel doesn't change the problems with the storyline. I'm not hating Roman or the Rock, I'm hating the entire story and not even caring about the faces going up against them. Kevin Owens is my favourite wrestler and the second time he went up against the Bloodline, I couldn't give a ****.

It is a bit of a massive epidemic that storytelling has a villain problem when it comes to fanbases trying to fixate so hard on villains which misses the whole point of them in the first place and wrestling is one of the biggest offenders of this villain problem, recently we let heels get away with so much awful plot points just because they're heels and heels end up being so favoured there have been cases of heels going to massive extremes to try and get people to hate them (MJF attacking a crowd who wasn't even a Plant comes to mind).

Heels shouldn't be casually burying Championships and entire Match Staples to make themselves look tough or threatening, incredibly short term thinking.

I quite liked heel Rock last night, he went in hard on the crowd and some of the lines he used was great and I got a good laugh from them, it didn't really do anything though and that tag match is still to be made, there was maybe a few hints during his promo that he might turn on Roman and cost him the match against Cody, apparently when he was talking about Cody losing at Mania he was looking at Roman and he didn't use the right we the ones salute at the end, it all got a massive reaction on social media but I'm not convinced.

Bron Breakker on Smackdown is pretty big news, I can't believe that Jade Cargill has been on WWE for a while now and she still not signed with a brand yet, its like they don't know what to do with her.

Perhaps saving her for an after Wrestlemania announcement maybe, just to shake it up before the Draft...

Kevin Owens and Logan Paul both qualified for the men's chamber match and that match is now filled, Naomi and Tiffany Stratton qualified for the women's chamber match with one spot left, that spot will be filled by way of a last chance battle royale on Raw.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will be on the Grayson Waller effect at the chamber show, which is this Saturday.

Something that I have been forgetting to mention is Drew McIntyre's contract situation, his current deal expires at the end of April and both parties have been in negotiations for a while but no deal has been struck yet, I think he will re-sign as he is in the title picture and I don't think he would be in that position if he wasn't staying.

Agree with you on everything you say there, in a general sense.

In this specific promo though, the point I'm making is heels tend to say something that twists the truth to their line of thinking - yet still being able to have holes poked into it to draw the heat.

I thought the same thing hearing those lines from Rock (they - losing sporting teams - put their head down and come back stronger). He's trying to say Cody doesn't deserve the main event, when in reality we know that he put his head down, came back stronger, and won the Rumble again.

As Advertised for Raw tonight.

Cody Rhodes v Drew McIntyre.
Gunther v Jey Uso-Intercontinental title.
Battle royale for the final women's Elimination Chamber spot.
Chad Gable v Ivar.
R-Truth, Miz & DIY v Judgement Day-eight man tag match.

What I find funny is Drew McIntyre is the only Raw wrestler in the World Championship Elimination Chamber

He is almost guaranteed to be the winner given the story but it definitely feels like they needed to give the Smackdown guys something to do in the meantime

I literally just drove by Honda Stadium after the show ended on my way to Disneyland. If only I got there sooner...

Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa caused havoc on Raw by disrupting the opening match and main event, the opener was Cody v Drew with Uso and Solo causing the distraction which led Drew to win, it had shades of Mania last year with Solo hitting Cody with the spike and then Drew with the Claymore, its Cody's first pinfall loss since last years Mania.

The main event was the IC title match which was a great match with lots of near falls. this time it was Jimmy costing his twin the match and title when Jey seemingly had he match won after five spears and a splash. Jimmy rang the timekeepers bell which distracted Jey and Gunther got the win, Jimmy attacked Jey after which will likely set up a match between the two at Mania.

Raquel Rodriguez returned to win the battle royale and claim the last spot in the women's Chamber match. Judgment Day predictably won the 8-man tag and it was R-Truth taking the pinfall but he had a great taped segment before!

Elimination Chamber is this Saturday and I found out that it will on at 10am UK, which isn't too bad for me.

I sort of been trying to remember to see WWE NXT more often. As much as I look at AEW from time to time, I should see some more NXT also. I just saw Roxanne Perez wrestle just now. She's pretty fierce!

Update: ACL tear, out ~9 months

The last couple of months have showed just how much Max was carrying AEW. The void without him is massive.
NXT is really good though, better than the main shows quite a few times recently.
