very nice idea, ive thought about havin a drag contest but never thought to have a money limit. il see what i can get

Yay :)

I've been waiting for others to post up numbers :)

I put a cash limit on it so it'll make the car and mod choice a little more interesting ... Otherwise everyone would just use the Escudo :P: ...

oh and when i post my times do you want all the car specs along with it?

Cool! I'll take this challenge too! The Second best to try on the test course is the GT-One road car, but off of the line it'll spin the rear wheels, impedeing lap times. I think i'll go with an AWD car, more specifically the R34 Skyline.

ok i worked on it last night and i got what i think is a good car. i have a car for each drivetrain (fwd, rwd, awd) but for now il just put the fastest one.

13.577 0.244 carbon shaft 3500
13.737 0.084 close gearing 6000
13.720 0.101 super close gearing 6000
13.633 0.188 tripple plate clutch 5000
13.691 0.130 semi racing susp 8000
13.677 0.144 racing intercooler 3500
13.520 0.301 racing muffler 5000

13.799 0.022 engine blancing 16000
13.873 -0.052 port grinding 6000

the most significant upgrade is turbo and flywheel

Yes, but mine and korndawg's also not tuned for an automatic transmission, because we all have uncustomizable gearing ......
And I think buying a full racing transmission will not make the car as fast as buying racing muffler and triple plate clutch

Wow, you've just done what I always wanted...test a car with each different part installed and see what happens. I've done it once or twice but I get impatient. I dig your research.

I did that years ago with basically every type of car (I think I did like 12 cars) ... Flywheel is definitely the best in terms of bang for the buck ...

Nonetheless, I'd get different parts if I were using an automatic transmission (try to optimize power at lower RPMs) ...

I've done a limited amount of drivetrain tests. I remember each flywheel upgrade would knock about a tenth of a second off my 0 to 60 accel times, but I forget which car I was testing. Interesting stuff.
