Hey guys, sorry to pop into the debates and QQ. But I was wondering how to lock down a RWD drag car on Indy with no TC. I usually drive my Spirra but I end up burning through third gear. i have tried softer springs in rear but it doesnt make any difference.

I write you a PM with instructions, or even better, send the Spirra to me, and i make a basic drag tune for rwd cars, and for 1/4 mile.

PS. Im not a scammer, i have tuned manny cars =)

There is soooooo much rivalry here lol

Wish I could see TT3AZ and masta duke it out... Though I am pretty sure what the outcome will be ;)
Well, masta is a pro tuner and he has a crew, im just a person trying to tune ;). The differance between us, is that i have never claimed to be the fastest one, and i never say that i will "smoke" the opponet before racing.

You don't really need a team to be fast. I am not in any team but still able to beat team leaders like "noise_bomb". It was funny cuz he was talking smack about how good his viper was and when I beat him he left. Now he's always sending me PM's to join his room and help his team tune lol

How about the ZZ-II? maxxed out I get 774hp. It burns out till third. I have tried softer springs but to no avail :((

How does an AWD car burnout in 3rd? Check you your tranny settings, something is majorly wrong...

Yeah i know, but Masta does have fast cars, but that was not what i was talking about. Between me and masta, its personal, as for many others...

to nonrunaway, my best guess without seeing your car is that your 1st gear is too long and bogging (drops really low in rpms until about 30 mph) and picks its speed up past that

It could be anything, but first he got to tune the suspension, because that will affect the traction, and determine how long/short 1st gear should be. Also for 1/4 mile, your gears should be really long, and you should top out like 1, 2 car lenghts past the shadow. Thats what 1/4 mile draggers have told me. What is also crucial is perfect gear change, which can be hard on a extremly short geared transmission.

i do agree tt3, just reread his post and at first thought it was an AWD he was talking about :dunce:

I am actually trying to get my Spirra(FR) and ZZ-II(AWD) to stop burning out. I almost have the ZZ-II done but the Spirra does it no matter what I do.

Well, search on the forums and you fins general rwd drag suspension, try looking ar dr_slumps enzo tune, he has posted general rwd drag suspension.

1st generally is as long as possible

2nd is geared as long as possible but short enough to still have fast gear changes

3rd - 6th/7th is geared mainly to stay in the powerband

:)

Yeah, dalightning summed up it pretty good. To use all gears, and still have them short enough, you may need to do the reversed transmission trick. That is:

1. Final to 5.000 or what ever is max,
2. Max speed to 200 km/h, or all way to the left.
3. Max speed to 210, or one klick to the right
4. Max speed to 200 km/h again (one klick to left again)
5. Adjust final gear and other gears :)

Now, hopefully you can use all 5 or 6 gears, still beeing able to have a long first gear, and short last gear.

thats the hard long way of doing it tt3az ,

Is it just me or is the ZZ-II a GTR killer? Dont get me wrong...GTR's are fast...but good ones are very hard to come by.

Hmm, yes. I'm pretty sure that the ZZ-II is a GT-R killer.
But not by far, it's just about 1 car length (depends on the tune, of course).

Le Mans Quattro, ZZII, GT-R,ACR and Ford GT No Stripe are all capable of beating each other. I have seen people with amazing tunes for each of these cars. Sometimes ZZII gets GT-Rs and sometimes not.You can't really claim anyone of these cars are faster than the other. Though I have seen some pretty amazing GT-Rs :)

zz-II is way lighter than gtr...and alot of rpm...i hav yet 2 see a tuned gtr beat a well tuned zz

Then you haven't seen KRAVENRAW. I seriously don't know how his GTR is so fast. He said it took him a month to come up with that tune. I have a relatively fast GTR and i can't manage to make the race closer than 2 car lengths.

And a lightweight car won't really help you at Indy. Look at the Formula. 870kg. But they just spin at the start and I can manage to get a good couple of car lengths in front of them in the beginning in my Le Mans. The GTR is in the perfect weight range to get epic launches. Think about it, have you seen anything launch like a GTR?

Well, maybe kraven uses auto trans, so he gets his gear change perfect. I have run manual and auto, and im a bit faster with auto on 1/4 mile.

Gtr that used auto beat me when i uses manual, but when i change to auto as well, it was much more close.

Pretty sure he used manual. But it would make sense to use auto with GTR since gear changes are so important.

Well, i you use all 6 gears like me, and have very short gears, auto will help. Some people says auto is for noobs, but it depends who you are racing. If the other gtr use auto, i use it as well, otherwize he will have a advantage....

Yea I have been using manual since GT2. But with the GTR shifting from 1st to 2nd milliseconds to early or late can lose the race.

Yeah, you will loose the race if you dont shift right, specially if both are similar tuned. Some time, the ds3 doesnt react fast enough to change gears right away.....

well when your talking about the indy course u may have a point...but the ssr7 track its all ZZ-II and gtrs dont even come close....lightweight does help alot but ur talkin bout formula is made for circuit not drag....but to answer your question about the launch i would say its between the le mans and gtr for the AWD cars (but i kno im forgetting some other cars) even the lambos in GT5 has some pretty nice launches themselves and a few other AWD cars....

Okay, whats the easyer way then?

Take steps 3 & 4 out. The gears will automatically readjust to the new final gear the second you click the autoset in either direction. So by doing the first two steps, you've already done it, and if you want, check it yourself by doing it with steps 3 & 4 and without it. You'll see the individual gears are the exact same. 👍
