Drift events...

Anyone else skip them entirely like me? I really don't like them, and don't play them on any game that features them.

It's kind of disappointing that I can never really 'finish' a game that has them, because I'll always end up a little short on the career percentage, but I just can't get into them. It's ultimately much more a frustrating exercise for me than it is fun.

How about you?

I liked them before. My favorite drifting mode was in Race driver grid but Pro street also had a good drifting experience for me. Shift 2 is totally different from them and to me it is for the worst. I really don't like it and I am skipping it at the moment but I will end up doing it.

Once you get the hang of how to Drift it isn't all that bad but it is definitely frustrating at times. So far I have only completed the first two drifting events (out of 10, ugh).

I found the easiest car to start drifting in is the Alfa Romeo 8c just stock. Its just so easy to drift in

I actually like the drifting. I even liked it from the first one, now this one is just much easier. Glad how you can now drift on any track with any car. Try to get the hang of it and you just might enjoy it.

Drifting seems more of a focus this time around but strangely online drifting has been removed. Team NFS seems to be promoting the game through the drifting scene. In the game you have quite a few choices for drifting decals. You also have an over-weight drifting guy representing this game. Yeah, W T F right?

i don't know why the hell they keep putting drift crap in racing games. Skipped them all.. i will ask a friend to make it for me just for the psn trophy.

Yeah, I skipped them entirely too. I just did the first one though where you go in a circle. I'll come back to it when I finish the rest of the career.

i LOVE drifting, but with a wheel, NFS S2U has the most horrible Drifting physics in any (recent) game i have ever played. It's a joke and really disappointed me. I had a feeling it was going to be horrible since the First NFS Shift drifting was pretty bad. So i didn't have my hopes up, but it seems they have gotten worse.

I can drift all day and night in GT5, where the physics are realistic. I could barely pass the first circle drift event they have you doing in the loaner 240sx.

I believe they gave it arcade/bad physics so anyone who picks up the game can get past them. I could not get into a counter-steer drift and hold it, the throttle control and steering adjustments are just too weird(un-responsive). I will be avoiding Drifting in Shift 2 as long as i can. I will stick to GT5 and Live for Speed for my drifting fix. :)👍

I'm playing on PC with G25 at 900*

I have just finished the drifting part of the game, found it 50/50 enjoyable/frustrating. Some of the track choices are stupid though, far too narrow, find yourself boucing off walls half the time! anyway its done now, won the Mustang, doubt I will touch it again. BTW best car I found for drifting is a works modded Dodge Challenger Concept, that thing is born to drift!!

I'm half way done. they are pretty easy but fun, but the tokyo shipping yard is a $%#%%^

I'm using my race s2000 and it handles great in races and drifting but on that track i'm going to try that nissan you win and see if I can win at that track with it.

I'm skipping them at the moment.

Early on in the game i tried it with wheel.I was expecting it to be like Pro-Street,but boy was i wrong.I kept getting more and more frustrated.

I heard it was easier with a controller,i may try that out when i'm done with career.

They are ridiculous stupid, I am at one where the 240sx is longer the the road is wide. There's no room to hold a drift, it's a cool track but **** annoying.

I would like to do them, but for some reason I can't drift for s**t with the pad. I know how to drift with a wheel and pedals pretty well, but with a pad I can only make lots of smoke and noise... I couldn't get past the instruction events.

same here albiet it was my own car :scared:, tried for a few hours and barely got 3rd in the first three and had enough.

My number one top tip: Practice about 20 laps on Hazyview 8 about three times, use the DA 240sx, set it to night time so the bags go away. Just keep doing that till you can get about 250-300, then youre ready

I have no interest in drifting either with a caveat... I'm using the DFGT and can't get ANYTHING to drift in Shift 2... Oh well, won't worry about it.

Yeah, I'm 40% through the career and have 0/10 drift events finished. I find them absolutely horrendous. Usually I'm quite good in drift events. In other games that is. Not in this though. Barely got through the tutorials. As long as they are not needed for the trophies, I will stop playing this game with 0/10.
