Decided to have a break from Golding S license (up to S - 12 now), so i took out the arcade Falken RX-7 with N2 tires on, 0% weight/power. I havnt set this car up at all, its bog standard.

Here is a nice braking drift into a corner then a fient into the next corner (Midfield)

Ive also done a braking drift into the 1st corner of midfield (from about 230kph) I will upload them pics later.

all pics are 1mb in total

DoriSPL, those pics of yours are some of the best i have seen, and i've surfed through most of the pics on here!

Big, long smoke trails look awesome, and prove that the drift has been held for so long...

Keep em coming!

Wow. I don't know whether it's your drifting or the clarity of your pics that amaze me. How are your pictures so crisp b/c I'm having problems getting the clarity right in my pics. I think it's because mine are taken at night (haven't seen any other night pictures except for the ER34 one) but even so, can you walk me through your photo transfering process (super fine, uploading onto computer, etc...)?

I dont do anything special. Just play around with the settings, yes it on superfine, and just upload it from my USB stick onto the pc.

Shutter speed - I usually leave it anywhere between 400-1200 depending on pic
Aperture - depends on pic
Exposure - 1,2 usually
White blance - depends on pic

If anyone has nice pics, its gotta be awdrifter2, he prolly knows somthing we dont ;)

Turbo7 - Just some advice. I'm not sure if it's your intention or not, but your Aperture seems to be set to 22 on all of your pics. The entire shot is in focus with a slightly blurry car from the shutter speed. It makes your pics look less convincing then some other photos taken with general rule of thumb photography rules in mind. Nevertheless, keep it up.

ya i know... I was trying to give the car a moving "effect". Im still new with the photos features and just gotta mess with it and learn it better. if you could give me some tips on what i could do better? Is it just the apeture that im setting too high? Is there anyway to get the car in focus but have the rims blurry so it does looks like its moving? I just dont like it when i have the car in focus but it seems like its almost standing still....

I think i just realized why im having trouble with it. When i take my pics, I dont go to Photo Drive, instead i save the replays from a regular run and then save the pics in the theather.

Well, there's no "trick", I take multiple pics with diff settings the pick the best ones. I usually use lower shutter speed to create the moving effect (125-250). I usually turn up the aperture a bit the whole car will have the same "feel". Exposure, usually +.5, white balance -2. (But I did +5 on the ER34 pics to give it the "at night" feel. Hope this helps.

photodrive will give you the same results as saving a race replay and opening it in the theater.

Generally I like to have some of the car in focus but with the aperture set between 2 and 8 so the background blurs our and depending on the shot, some of the car will be out of focus as well. Remember to set you focus (I think it's SQUARE) and then you can play around with the aperture to see what looks best. Also experiment with different Shutter Speeds.

Here's an ok example of showing depth of field. You'll notice that the fron end of the car is in focus, but the rear of the car isn't. This can help add to the sense of speed without blurring the whole car out with a low shutterspeed. And importantly, the background is also out of focus, but it still looks like a nice tranquil place. IMO most of the things that make or break the shots taken are how the bg's show up. If the background looks poor and is in focus, it highlights the low resolution textures used and makes the shot look more like a video game than a realistic photograph.

In hindsight I probably could have lowered the shutterspeed for this pic just a notch, but again you can see how its easy to get a half half deal on focus with the car.

Here's an example of a poor selection of focus. All we can see in focus is the ugly low res texture of the grass and guard rail.

Basically my one bit of advice would be to stay clear from the "high" aperture settings (22 etc) though this is just my personal opinions. Other people might like things differently than I do and that's just fine. Hope this helps

On the manual focus, do you just keep pressing square to change it or is it square + up/down buttons? I don't really see a diff when I keep pressing square. Nice pics btw.

You use the "cross hair" to aim where you want the focus to be and then press square. Then using the Aperture you can determine your depth of field. Sometimes in photo drive mode it doesn't let you point at a certain place you want to be in focus. The only way around this is to switch to a different camera angle and set the focus there, then move back to your desired angle.

Edit: Btw lol, what is that car. It looks like the back end was an afterthought as a result of the designer sketching the bonnet too long. Cool pics though. Old school is "1337".

Edit 2: Just noticed you had the name up the top.

so these are no where near as good as your lot sbut hey..
