I like the game, got it since yesterday. The driving is extremely fun, the sense of speed exciting and controls are precise.
I got what I expected, a racer with simcade physics and stunning graphics, especially the races in norway with snow around are so beautiful.
If you like games such as as Project Gotham Racing this is the best you get in replacement :)

For all the simulation freaks. Keep your hands off this isnt for you. This is pure fun racing and I enjoy it!

I enjoy it but a few things kind of irritate me a little bit.. (sorry this is super nitpicky)

-Why is there some sort of confetti floating in some corners of some tracks? It looks really weird!

-I appreciate the Red, Yellow, Green flags for the corners to help you learn the track but now that I'm starting to get the hang of the tracks I do wish you could turn them off. I'm starting to find them more clutter than helpful now. With beautiful tracks like this I want less objects obstructing my view!

-Button customization.. Oh man I wish I could assign the gas/brake to the right analog stick. I really don't like using triggers for gas/brake. I know, this is a very personal complaint but I have to put it out there.

-The constant need for the game to be connected to the servers. This wouldn't be so bad if the game didn't feel the need to scroll bright red text across the middle of my screen when I'm driving to remind me I'm not connected to the servers. Grrrrrrrrrr.. I know stop reminding me!! I really dislike that. If they just moved the reminder to the upper corner of the screen or something out of the way I'd really appreciate it. I know I can turn the HUD off but I like to have it on for some things.

-I really wish the car customization was a bit more in depth. The liveries so far are really ugly and there's not a whole lot of options to make your car uniquely yours. Maybe they can add more options later via DLC who knows.

-super restrictive off road counter. I don't quite get the purpose of this. Some tracks are so tight there is hardly an advantage to being a bit off the track and with the width of some tracks it is almost inevitable someone will get pushed off the side. I wish they'd loosen that up a bit. This is much more of an arcade game so I don't get the restrictive off road bit at all. This will only encourage more destruction derby stuff in online as people push others off the course to get them reset. Yuck.

Overall though I have enjoyed the game. The day/night transitions look amazing and the tracks are really fun. LOVE the point to point courses and the unique locations for the tracks. Really nicely done.

I think this game suffers the same way Destiny did. It was overhyped and made to look like its was going to be something it was not. And this was made worse by the fact that it was delayed a year and consumers' imagination went into overdrive after hearing about FH2. "DC is going to blow this out of the water," and such. It's not bad, it's just is.

So I have a question for all you guys/girls.

I have a PS4 and XB1 with Forza 5 and FH2, is this worth getting for the PS4 as I am really loving FH2 on the XB1 as the game is brilliant. IMO.

Your thoughts?

Guessing you meant PS3, anyway never buy a console for just one game, is it worth purchasing a PS4 full stop then yes, is it worth buying a PS4 for Driveclub then no unless you can comfortably afford it.

I can fully agree with sems4(that team...) If on the other hand you do already have a PS4 - then what is stopping you from downloading the fee PS+ version and finding out for yourself?

You don't need other peoples' opinions to enjoy a game or not.

I would never buy a console for one game only and in my honest opinion, Driveclub doesn't come close to Horizon 2, however its still a fun game if you're a fan of racing games.

I own a PS4 as well as PS3's and just wanted to know if it is worth getting the game for the PS4 as I only have MLB14 and Killzone for the PS4. Just wanted to get some views of people that have it.

Well I might just pick it up anyway. Thanks guys.

I was hoping someone will say that! :D I've been watching gameplays of DC and I must say, I adore its engine sounds! :) Although I'm kinda waiting for a price drop before buying it (along with Horizon 2), as I'm still unsure if I want it or not.

I love the game. Great handling and feel with the t500. Aggressive and competitive AI. Great sound and visuals. Much easier for my buddies to sit in and to play too.
Oh, and the fact that the in-race music is turned off by default is great, and to me is indicative of the demographic it aims at: adults.

Is it even worth asking people on here? the majority seem to take their time to post about every single problem they have with the game.
Remember people will post online about a product primarily when they have a problem with it, but not as much when they're satisfied. They don't feel a need to make their voice heard. They're happy. As a result, you'll always find much more negative than positive about a product in forums and message boards. I guess I'm just one of the few who takes the time to say good things.
So make up your own mind regardless of what anyone including me has to say. Play. the ps plus version when it becomes available. Just might help you decide. Or just take the advise of trolls on the "internets."

Got my copy, loving how it looks and drives. Unfortunately to tired out to stay up all night and play it, but that time will come. Really need those servers to open up, though.

The FB update mentions that the servers are up but still running at full capacity, so you need to wait for a gap to open in the queue - further update expected later today (Thursday.)

Imho buying a ps4 just for this game is a mad decision, considering that the other has better racing games than DC. However i bought the ps4 just because i'm used to ps since the first one, i'm a traditionalist.

I originally stated that this game reminds me a lot of NFS Shift, but I had forgotten about PGR and I believe that is probably the closest description for DC. The more I played it last night, the more I realized it does feel a lot like a modern day PGR but without quite as much emphasis on style points. I miss the PGR series so this game fills a nice void that has been missing for a few years now.

Level 23 now, woohoo!

The servers kept coming up and then going down last night for me. The longest time I was able to actually stay logged into a server was about 5 minutes before it disconnected me again. They really need to get it sorted out because without the servers, there's cars I can't unlock without being able to contribute to my club totals.

I watched a review and I made my decision based on that.

This game looks awful. I have not seen a game which looks this arcade-y for a long time. For the visuals (which will be absolutely destroyed by Project CARS) which don't look too bad, the over-grippy tyres and the lack of a variety of cars is incredibly disappointing. The single player looks naff too. Their penalty system almost looks worse than Codie's F1 penalty system. One plus was that the cars actually sound half-decent.

I suppose if you like an arcade game which doesn't look too bad which will have everybody driving like an idiot online then this game will be perfect for you.

I won't be getting it.

You could play the PS+ version for free and try it or wait and pick it up later in the bargain bin. I don't think its bad at all but I understand everyone has different tastes.

Question regarding turbo noises, I'm hearing some BOV there but no turbo noises when you let off the throttle (waste gates or whatever you call it), also if any car has ALS is it recorded?

That was awful driving ;)
But that is not what makes it arcade, GT series is like that too, bump off other cars like you wish. No penalty at all in that game. But i like the graphic, audio and how the car seemd to handle. I just neeeeed to wait for ps+ version a bit longer.

Hey, it was the graphics fault.

Queston: Is the loadtime fast? Think they said it would be.

Yup, pretty fast.

Two hours in, I m having a lot of fun with it. Reminds me a lot of the original NFS titles, pre-Underground. And that is a good thing! You get to race some astonishingly pretty cars in some equally astonishingly pretty environments. Everybody who says this game looks awful either hasnt seen it live or needs to get their eyes checked. The game looks massively better live than on youtube, the terrain, foliage and lighting are the new benchmark and not only for racing games. There is one A->B track in Norway that starts in some snowy mountains and goes down through some typically rough scandinavian winter forests into a valley, I just watched it while my mate was driving and I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful this track really is. Handling so far is good, can be a bit wonky while drifting but I rarely drift anyway.

Yes, it has its faults: Rubberbanding and the nonsensical balancing of the cars suck big time. That their server was brought to its knees so easily is a bad joke. The penalties can be frustrating, I personally have no problems with them. I m actually happy that big shunts against others get you a penalty.

Overall, for me this goes into 8/10 territory as is and once they will finally get their severs running, I m prepared to relive the same addiction as with Shift/Autolog and try to beat times of my friends over and over again...

I love it when I hear a game reminds people of games from the past, especially PGR. I'm starting to change my mind on waiting for DC to get a price drop, or maybe I should wait till christmas? Because I can't get it right now sadly.

Quick question about the "rubber banding " i have heard a few people mention
first off i dont have the game yet or a PS4 (so i cant try the ps+ version )
Is it really rubber banding or is it AI drafting the crap out of you a.k.a slipstreaming ?
the game makers said their wasn't , they said the AI will wait for you if you screw up (slow down )

What's your thought's ?
