It's not a price drop, it's a sale. For some odd reason it isn't advertised anywhere lol. I only noticed on the game page for the game on the ui.

G27 does not work.
This...

Sorry I couldn't express it that way.

The Sale isn't advertised almost anywhere and I can't think of a better game for that price.

Thanks for the correction :)

booo, Logitech can't seriously think I am going to toss my perfectly working G27 to give them more money for the same wheel rebadged as G29 (only for them to pull the same stunt again when the PS5 comes around), sorry but if my wheel gives up the ghost and I have to get a new one it will be some other brand.

The murcielago's sound have been fixed in this latest update. Now it sound like the real car. I haven't tried the challenges yet. Oh, and the picture you would see when you exit a race or free run is new too.

Guys I have read on the frontpage that Evolution is investing and expanding the game again

https://www.gtplanet.net/update-1-1...obbies-to-follow-ps-plus-edition-availabilty/

The game will continue to improve as the weeks go by and the following notes are of important developments to be made aware that will be coming after 1.18.

  • More server upgrades and optimsations: We continue to improve server performance for all players as we prepare to launch the PS Plus Edition of DRIVECLUB and then subsequently launch the DRIVECLUB companion app.
  • Private lobbies: Development of Private Lobbies for Multiplayer is ongoing alongside the server upgrades, integration and optimisation. This feature will follow on from the launch of the PlayStation Plus Edition of DRIVECLUB.
  • Club Challenge improvements: After the recent Challenge server upgrades we are working on bigger rewards for Club Challenges along with improved Leaderboard presentation.
  • Elite Driver levels: More will be added each month with new rewards for every level.
  • More Cars & Tours: There’s still more packs coming for the Season Pass and we’re excited to show you more of what’s coming in June & July!
  • More Game Updates: We’re committed to keeping the game fresh and enjoyable for you, so we will continue to make improvements based on your feedback! Please keep sharing your thoughts with us to help the game continue to evolve around you.

Can someone tell me how long this game will be supported? Or is it a game that will have an evolution into the future while all functionality will be added through the updates so that there is no need for DC2?

I'm not so sure that Evolution are investing again, it would more likely need for Sony to allow them to have more staff again that could be called an investment. That isn't to say that the game will continue past the last season pass expansion in July. They have commented twice so far that they haven't decided if a second season pass will come.

As Sony said that DC will progress as a 'service' we will have to see what that means in terms of content. The game will be supported for a while yet though, I think you'll be safe in that.

DC has become great value for money it seems and I hope that "progressing as a service" means something positive for the franchise. If Sony and Evolution would keep "servicing" the game into a "DC2" that they are to first to try it like that if I am not mistaken.

The PS4 needs to come down in price first before I can make my "investment". Meanwhile I will keep enjoying the stuff that is shown in here/photo section

Yeah, I noticed that as soon as I did a full run with both the Murci and the Reventon, according to Rushy the sound issue was caused by a bug. Glad to hear those cars screaming just like irl now.

Going to have to give that a go...

The sound is good-screaming down the point to points :D-especially now you can have external sound internally piped in via the front windows open option on cockpit view;):P

I have noticed the scenery and roads have finer detail on them on most tracks-something is different in the last 2-3 updates with the frame rate and graphics being upped a notch..I hope they carry on and evolve the game with monthly updates, Free cars, dlc and more tracks after July. Thinking about it there is no need for DC2 and would this be the first game to make the 2nd edition just a Season Pass/or digital upgrade only? It would keep the distribution costs down on reselling a special edition or DC2 disc version. Anyhow-it just gets better and better imo

I havn't played that many racing games over the past 10 years.

Is being put back on the track automatically after you've crashed normal?

Depends how bad you crash if you are off track for too long it will count down from 3 to 0 then reset you.

Evolution is doing a great effort making this game better all the time. I think I would invest in the season pass if only the gameplay could keep me hooked for more than 5 minutes per session. :guilty:

I'd like more Rookie & Amateur events, Semi-Pro is too hard for me with the DS4 & thus joyless.

^^^ @ 0.20s Car stops and doors fling open-could this be a new free roam camera view feature

I've asked them about that potential feature on Twitter :) - currently awaiting reply...

That feature would be fabulous though!!!

EDIT:

This was the reply - "@DRIVECLUB: Maybe... :) We want to add this in a future update but can't confirm anything yet."

Sweet!!! Big possibility I see there!

That would be one cool feature for photo opportunities 👍👍 Also before the race or in the garage view to press to open doors and free view inside or your avatar looks around before the race and you have the remote to press the button to start or doors-they could make a few good little features :sly:

Just curious @VBR, what is it you find difficult about the tour events?

After driving in driving simulations for 13 years using FFB wheels, I'm not fast enough with the DS4 to keep up with the AI cars. I got as far as the Semi-Pro championship & had enough of it. Maybe I'll delete my game data & start all over again, I did enjoy Rookie & Amateur.

And please, I don't want any tips how to be fast with a pad!

It maybe because you have been on sims for all those years (like me) and not used to the arcade style of driving, no tuning, braking later, slight drifts round the bends, manual gears on the pad buttons etc..I found the later stages hard with a pad too but persevered and now like the hyper cars and later tours...You are in early stages still so maybe try again after restarting early tours again or take a break from the tour and concentrate on time trials and photo mode;). If I race the AI even on legend if you crash they still wait for you, you will find you can keep up with them- you will get there as when I head back straight on to pcars after DC I end up straight off on the first corner! 👍

@torque99 - I've not done any tuning since GT4, & that was just basic stuff. Not used other peoples tunes since GT5 Prologue. I always race stock in GT5 & GT6. I love oversteer & can handle it fine in most sims, & in reality also. The problem is that I need a wheel to experience full control, I just can't cut it with the pad. Don't like TT's, never have. Maybe I'll give it another go if I ever get a compatible wheel, or if one of my existing ones become compatible, but for the moment I'm done with the game. It was fun while it lasted.

I'll still be checking out the photo forums, & drooling over all the great shots!

:D

I find that rather strange to be honest. All my life I've played sim only racers using a steering wheel, but once I got my hands on Driveclub, with a controller, I found the controls to be insanely good. The accuracy of the steering is so much better compared to games like GT6 and others (comparing controllers). And I didn't find the tour particularly challenging.

I believe however a good button layout can improve lap times so if I were you I'd try different layouts so you can get a good feel for that car etc. And make sure vibration is turned on.

I've posted some good times with the controller in TT and the set up is really good as default, on DC I actually prefer the controller to the T300 wheel, I just meant some sections of the tour were not as easy as I thought and can see where @VBR was coming from..I will now you have said that have a mess around with the layouts this weekend but I get distracted with the photo mode and don't actually make it round most laps in one go now :P 👍
