I spent a LOT of time in the green hell in grand prix legends working on my negative gplrank (anybody here remembers that?) and honestly as much as it still has a special place in my heart (I did buy the assetto corsa DLC with it) I think several of the tracks of DC are just as good, for example Sinclair Pass (the track we are having a lot of fun on atm in the other thread) with its mix of turns and elevation changes it does remind me of it a fair bit.

IMHO (heresy, I know) the green hell is a LOT of fun the first fourth or so till the end of the downhill when you turn left on the bridge (Exhmuhle) then it's ok until the Karussell (fun) and after that not that much fun for the rest of the lap (Karussell to kleine Karussell a bit same-y and the long straight a bit boring). Of course I am sure my opinion would be different if I was driving it in real-life where it would all be super fun (and scary) :)

One of the things I am looking forward to seeing in VR is definitely the green hell though, I am sure the elevation changes would be a lot more scary!

 nope

I really find it difficult to drive the Wombat, does anyone have any tips? It just feels like it sways from left to right like a speedboat at times.

I tend to visualise the roll and counter roll in advance, using that flow of motion and attempt to match the corners. Boost is also useful around certain corners, but not too much or you end up on your roof.

Not sure if that'll help.

See, you are just fine with the Wombat judging by your time in that challenge I sent out ;)

Is it a public challenge? If yes, I will try it out (if the race isn't that long). :)

Have to say the DLC event with the Ariel Atom V500 was horrible hard! Sliding everywhere... anyway, I like the fact, that the DLC events are harder again. Sakura & Apex for example were way to easy. The Evolution Pack or more precisely the star challenges in it were awesome and challenging in a good way. I remember I had some problems trying to beat the permitted speed in one of the Buggy events on a Chile track. :D

Few weeks ago I posted that I need to re-collecting all stars. By now I own 807 stars and thanks to the new accolades, I'm highly motivated to improve my times. By the way, that Rimac handling and the traction control is more a train than a car lol.

Yep, it's public and will run for a week - have fun; just a P2P by the way.

If interested, you can found a few events created by me in my in-game challenges profile like a Ferrari 599X or Caterham SP 300 race. I will create some more (race) events, once the RPM pack is out. :)

@KokosEnergy - I am also redoing the main tour to see if it fixes my star server sync issue.
Speaking of "star server sync issue". In the above said Ariel Atom event I had to beat the time of 1:08,500 again, because for some unknown reason my 1:08,4XX before didn't count and only had 2 stars after leaving the event... Second time something like this happened to me.

Have fun redoing the main tour! I suggest that you use downloaded cars (if you own any) most of the time to contibrute the accolades, unless you don't care for this. Good thing that you can combine the accolades with re-playing events. By the way, I added you. :)

Currently I'm having trouble (again) with the McLaren P1 Hot Lap in "Photo Finish".

Thanks. I like the Wombat Typhoon and P2P tracks, so this is nice. Also no Chile or Japan, yay. I'm horrible bad at Chile and Japan tracks. :yuck:

MeanElf, do you try to get all the stars? Just curios. Also thanks for always playing my challenges!

That first sector is killing me.
The turn just before entering the tunnel and the short second left turn in the first tunnel kills me

As daunting as it is, I really want absolute 100% completion for Driveclub so I have been using cars that contribute to accolades I haven't maxxed out yet! Also trying to finally tick off that final gameplay accolade, just 10 more miles of drifting to go! :)

That event prompted me to start using manual in this game, so as hard as it was I'm grateful for it because I've realised I was just making things so much harder for myself.
I read that the event is much easier using manual, if you know how, because you can better control your current speed and therefore don't slide everywhere. To be honest, I just crashed at full speed in the first corner to regular my speed by getting a penalty.

Nice, we are all on the same boat. :) There are also few drift events made by me, helps filling up your accolades. I think re-playing all the events is mostly of the time entertaining, however, the looong events are indeed daunting. And it's annoying if you lead a 8 lap race, crash and became 3rd place while you need at least 2th place for the star...

I can't believe people haven't complained about the daytime running lights are off by default. I have to change the time to dusk to actually see them. I guess its just a nitpick.
