It's what I think as well @MeanElf It's a great game but it's also a game that is almost 2 years old and seeing the age of this game and the studio closing down I fear the worst.

Driveclub is in a great stade and the allround package with the very cheap pricetag will still be great value for money. Even if a playstation team will maintain the support it will be very hard for them to replace EVO in terms of how they interacted with the community.

Will we see new content? I don't know. If it arrives, will I buy it? I don't know.

I sure know that I will keep playing this game for short stints and photo-sessions. But I probably play it less. I'll take part in several TT's from @Brend and @torque99 but I wonder how long it will run after this announcement. I simply have the feeling the GTP crowd is almost ready to move on...

Besides DC there isn't really a racing title that keeps me playing like this game does. Maybe GTS or Assetto Corsa can cut it for me on the simulation part but arcade .... Trackmania ? .... NFS ? I simply don't know....

Truth be told, I've really dropped the ball with this week's TT already. I feel my interest dwindling also, not going to lie. If the interest is there I will of course continue.

@Gr4ndy He isn't going to say anything else, really. You aren't going to burn your employer of circa. 10 years in a public space. :(
 
To be fair, EVO's death has struck me so much I don't even know if I should buy the last few Driveclub DLCs for Easter. Should I get Trackmania Turbo instead?
The Forza 6 Porsche Expansion is definitely a yes, though.
 
This is just another case of bad things happening to good people. They were the most generous development studio of this generation, and they suffered under the hands of Sony, while game companies that rip you off are allowed to live on. It just shows that you have to stomp on other people's heads to get higher in this business environment.

What's even worse is that there's no other Sony-owned studio that have enough arcade racer experience, so the IP can't even get transferred and revived, meaning that Sony don't have an exclusive racer catering to more than one particular niche anymore. This is a sickening blow considering what happened to Studio Liverpool a few years back.

Evolution Studios may be no more but the very talented developers are still around so I am sure we will still see great things in the future. To be honest, I need to get my life back at some point as driveclub has pretty much stolen all my free time since I purchased it in Dec 14, my PS4 can probably also play some other discs for a change!! Not that I have any plans to stop playing any time soon, RIP evo.

Yes Mate, I know the feeling, I myself have lost many 'spare hours' saying just one more TT go at this lap, challenge or race or just 10 more photos :lol: I actually have been having a break from DC the last month or so and trying NFS, Crew and old Xbox games even been tempted to pop on Forza forum to look whats happening and getting a 2nd hand xbox one (but decided now I will stick with PS4)..👍

^^ I am more than happy to carry on with GTP Driveclub challenges :gtpflag:, photomode and being positive there is so much to do with this game still and challenges, the memebers on here are very friendly and this does not stop me carrying on GTP forums or twitter and I hope everyone does the same and carries on the 'Spirit' of DC until something else takes us all over..👍👍

Edit @Brend If you didn't want to carry on the season I am more than happy to carry on 'Fun' Sprint challenges (but not a league) just weekly or Bi-Weekly. 👍
 
Yesterday I got so upset with the news that I thought for a second about moving to the box. But that was just a silly and angry moment about Sony. Still upset tou.

I'll stick with PS4, and I'll keep playing DC. I've just started a new psn ID and then I have the whole DC carrer ahead once more. Which I intend to get it fulfilled again.

If the GTP challenges keep on, I'll be happy to play'em. No pressure Brend.

About racing games: I guess only a GT game would make me move away from DC, and that my friends is not gonna happen soon
 
Grieve as we might for Evo, and even with our anger towards Sony, we should band together and take the loss of one of our favorite underdogs on the chin like champions, wish @Rushy33 and his team all the best, and try our best to carry on doing what we do.

They only ilve on because fools keep supporting them and buying rip off DLC, go look at UFC 2s rip off DLC for an example, You have to buy fighters multiple times to fight in more than one weight division, shocking stuff.

I didnt care much for some of Driveclubs DLC but i bought them to support the devs

How about Dirt Rally? 5th April, Are you into rally games..I am tempted to Pre-Order this Dirt for nostalgia purposes having started at the original Dirt right through..But I am not going to read reviews etc and just buy this and make my own mind up...DriveClub will still be my No1 game though!

I'll certainly be getting DiRT Rally - I'm not sure if I'll play it as much as DC because it's quite a different game. I don't even know if it has full day and night progression or dynamic weather...I'll see then, I suppose.

I haven't played a good rally game in quite a long time and Dirt is definitely my no.1 choice, I'm waiting a more aggressive sale price before buying it though 👍.

I'm willing to try it. To just have an option to DC. Pcars didn't catch my interest, neither The Crew, and I'm not a NFS guy. (Played the hell out of Shift thou), and I'm kinda tired of Codies F1 games. I played and got the platinum in all of the games but 2014 and 2015.

It's different from my cup of tea, but still willing to try it.

Dirt Rally is a really good game, especially if you have a wheel. I have it on pc since the first day of early access. I don't think there is full day cycle, but you can choose morning/midday/evening/night time of day etc + different weather.

Cheers for the info. I didn't think it would have all of those really, which is a shame. No wheel but I'm sure I'll cope.

You will have lots of fun with DS4 as well. I've been playing it like this for some time after I sold my wheel. It has one similar thing to DC, it's not that hard to play, but it is really hard to master. (Sometimes I wanted to throw a controller after I made a small mistake on the last section of 15km rally) :D

Back to DC, I'm shocked as well...

Hoping it's automatic, based on number of contenders or something, 'cause if it's manual... :(

No idea, to be honest. My guess is that it would be automatic and will appear in the community challenge section of the fifty people nearest your level on the world leaderboard: I say this as I had two accounts going at one point and the challenges I could see for both of them were quite different - there again, I was at a different level for each of them.

Oh, that's interesting and useful to know, thanks - I just went in on my second account and saw a couple I'll play :) Forwarded them to my main account. Level-wise, I'm seeing quite a few that were created by level 120 players on both accounts, but I'm 96 on one and 2 on the other. Maybe it's just random and the 120s are... prolific, lol ;) The lowest numebr of contenders I've seen this evening is 14 for a Bikes challenge, 19 for Cars.
 
Question about the Savage Rivale GTR-S: Where are the passengers in the rear seats supposed to put their heads? :confused: That roofline makes it look like they have no headroom at all.
