I found out today if you drive the same track for long enough periods of time, it can ruin you reflexes. for about 6 weeks, I only drove El Captain, today, I decided to run Grand Valley for the first time in about 3 months. Yeah, it's gonna take a while to fix em. Any one have a way to restore them in a short period of time?

Personally, I don't think driving the same track is bad for your reflexes unless you've got some sort of condition...near-sightedness or ADD or whatever. I'm not a doctor or anything, all I'm saying is that doing the same track (in and of itself) won't cause you to have bad reflexes, unless there's some other existing factor.

It sounds like you simply haven't driven other tracks for a long time; and so you've forgotten all the proper braking points, steering lines, etc. You just need to re-acquaint your self with other tracks again...essentially relearn them. 💡

I doubt it is that bad for you, I bet you are just used to thinking about and racing El Captain that you got worse and worse at other race tracks.

If you spend a some time racing El Captain you will drastically improve.

Welcome to the wonderful world of GT5P, where for the last 9 months or so, people have been driving the same 2 tracks over & over: Fuji & Suzuka. I don't know if it's "bad for you" but endless repetition makes you really fast 👍 but starts to squeeze the fun out of the racing. 👎

Unless it's the Nurburgring, of course! ;)

Well, I am near sighted, and I think I do have ADD, I can't concentrate without music.

Are you serious? So my diagnosis was okay? Damn, maybe I shoulda been a doctor instead of a mechanic, lol

My "prescription" is still the same, tho. Take 20 laps around Grand Valley. Drink lots of water, and get some rest. And then do 20 more laps around Grand Valley. lol

Call me if you need a refill on your prescription. Thank you.

Nearsightedness: The TV itself isn't moving, so you shouldn't have an issue; find a proper distance away from it to sit at.

ADD: One of the most overprescribed conditions of which I am aware. I have ADD, so actually know that the way to find out if you've got it is to consume a certain illicit drug and see if any opposite-from-normal effects are had - but I imagine this isn't the place to talk about that. Either way -when I'm off my meds- the effects of ADD don't have much of anything to do with becoming accustomed to a 'home course.' That said, you've got a pretty reasonable point with the music. I'm just saying it's not relevant.

You've simply become accustomed to one track, and still drive as if you're on it while on other tracks. It'll just wear off as you play in a more balanced way. Besides, relearning things isn't too bad; it allows open-mindedness and can give a very versatile ability. This I discover from playing with programs on my calculator, and that damn WRS qualifier (So many ways to go exactly the same speed as before!).

Too much time at a single track . . . Been there, done that. Felt a little scrambled after completing the 24 hours @ Sarth 1.

Running laps became so routine and mindless that even when I stepped away for a break, I still felt as if my fingers were twitching as if I was still playing. Its was like the muscle memory was etched with my controller inputs for a lap. I was more than happy when that was complete, and I was able to run around on another track.

Did it mess up my reflexes? Overall, no not really. I was just really good on Sarth 1 after that. Though when I was done I switched to running some of the pre 70's cars. That took some time to get use to.

It even felt routine driving the 200 mile race at El Capitan.

And why did you drive El Capitan for 6 weeks?

Not precisely bad for your reflexes, but bad for your abilities, yes. You are so used to El Capitan as I am with Special Stage Route 5 that your times are beginning to deteriorate in other tracks. You can't race the same track always. Remember, the races won't always be in El Capitan. But sure I wish they would be in SSR5 :embarrassed:
