Is a 1 hour race really an endurance race? It's significantly shorter than an F1 race.
OK, how about 1 hour sprint races? I think it's fair to call a one hour race in GT an endurance race since most campaign mode races are 2-10 laps. 2 or 3 hour races would be acceptable if you can pause the game and restart your race the next day where you left off. Most adults don't have 2-3 hours at a sitting to invest into play time.

In GT's terms, it is.

GT1-2 had 2h endurances. Although GT4 set the new standard (which it still bizarrely holds), I think it's a legacy thing to call 1h races endurances.

But when it comes to signficantly shorter than F1, I don't know about that, as F1 races range between 1h30min to 2h, so still within the GT1-2 levels of length.

It also needs to be considered that GT4 had the ability to swap in your B-Spec driver at pits; that's the only way 99% of players who completed those longer-than-2-hour races ever did (without leaving the system on pause and coming back).

I currently have three engines that don't really have another car to go into, as I've already won each of these engines previously and swapped them accordingly. But here were my ideas for new cars that could use these engines:

-D1GP BRZ
Chevrolet Camaro SS '16
Toyota GR Supra '19
Toyota 86 '15

-Aventador SV
Lamborghini Countach LP400
Lamborghini Miura Prototype
Lamborghini Diablo GT

-Corvette C6 ZR1
Chevrolet Corvette C2
Chevrolet Corvette C4 ZR-1
Pontiac GTO Judge

Then here were my other ideas for engine swaps:

-2JZ
Toyota GR Supra '20
Toyota Supra (A70)

-SR20DET
Fiat 500F '68

-Hellcat
Dodge Viper GTS '02

-Jaguar XJR-9
Jaguar F-Type R

-Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

-Porsche 962
Porsche Carrera GT

-Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak
Suzuki Swift Sport (both versions)

As for the 24 hour endurance mode, I have a theory. I think the idea no longer fits in the current moment. There is strong judicial activism, many legal disputes for consumerist sensibilities. Imagine you play for 24 hours in B-Spec mode, almost daily, and your console is overloaded and crashes. Many consumers will go to court claiming that the risky activity assumed by Sony-PD in leaving the console on for 24 hours.

So, I think that, to avoid this thesis raised by some aggrieved consumer, I believe that Sony's Legal Counsel would not allow this game mode to be made available to the end consumer. It is possible that there will be a 24 hour mode at some point in the World GT Series, in official competitions, but I doubt it will appear for the final consumer.

The theory’s interesting and would be pathetically tragic if true, but I can’t see it. Because if it were true, why do we have the possibility to set up races just as long in Custom Race mode? That option alone should mean there is no such concern at all.

I would love to see the microtransactions drop in price for one dollar per million credits. I would bet if Sony/PD were to do this it would give them some revenue, I think that price range is fair...

TVR and RUF feel a un tapped resource

Lotus cant answer the phone to polyphonic

And apparently Mc Claren stopped developing new cars in 2014

Wish list cars:

- literally anything interesting made between about 1978 and 2003.

Wish list real tracks:

  • Elkhart Lake
  • Sonoma
  • Motegi
  • Ebisu
  • SUGO

Wish list former GT tracks:

  • SSR5/Clubman R5
  • Autumn Ring/Mini

And getting those two tracks back would bring me to my final wish, for more menu books. A series of ‘retro 1997 GT’ championships.

A 400pp Sunday Cup on the 3 updated versions of the original tracks, and then a 550pp Clubman Cup and 700pp GT Cup following the same format on the updated tracks. The races could feature as close an approximation of the original opponent cars as possible, payout the same credits for race wins and overall championships, and even feature similar prize cars (silver Demio, white and orange Camaro, and some kind of Toyota touring car sedan).

Mostly I’m just an old geezer who played the original GT a LOT and would enjoy the throwback.

Motivation? Taking weird cars (or normal ones) and turning them into race cars. But even that is lacking. So we can start there.....

Roll cage availability in ALL CARS. Sorry, but hopping up a 69 Camaro with wide fenders, wide wheels and a race livery and not being able to see a roll cage inside is just dumb. It just looks so unrealistic and makes zero sense. Also, while PD's livery editor has come a long way, it still could use a lot of help.
Taking 3-4 images or shapes and turning them into 1 is at the top of my head.
And I will never understand why certain things on a car are "off limits". Should be able to change ALL lights by either placing covers on them or being able to replicate removing them all together. Again, 69 Camaro TA series race cars had all of their lights covered with aluminum. What is the point of turning a street car into a race car if you can't in fact, actually turn it into a race car? The limits boggle my mind.

The single player mode sucks. Sorry, poop all you want but it does. The career modes of days gone by (GT1, 2, 3, 4) were so much better. They had depth and made you want to play the game every evening. So good that when you completed them with one car, you went back and started all over using a different car.
Menu books? Cafe? What on earth is that nonsense???

Tracks.........
Why mess with a good thing: Grand Valley??
And yes, I want all the filler tracks from the past ie; Rome, RT246, Monoco, that thing that was in the Alps, that German one where you raced around mountains.
And how about having multiple races/events for ALL the tracks. What is the point of Broad Bean? One race? Dumb!!! Again, the old career modes took care of this.

As far as cars go, that is just a dream. 1000 cars wouldn't be enough but we could start with EVERY car that has ever appeared in previous editions. Where are the YellowHat sponsored cars?

I get on here and complain a lot about all of the above but I also feel justified in doing so. Your boy Kaz did promise a return to the original series type of game. GT7 is NOT that. Not even close.

One of my wishes is that PD would fill the Gr.2 roster with modern "GT1" cars. The cars basically already exist, and if they don't, PD could create fictional versions just like they did in Gr.3.

It would be a great idea to bring the current GT1, such as:

  • GMA T.50s Niki Lauda Gr.2
  • Ford GT mk IV Gr.2
  • McLaren Senna GTR Gr.2
  • Porsche 917 Gr.2
  • Pagani Zonda Revolución Gr.2
  • Ferrari FXX-K Evo Gr.2
  • McLaren P1 GTR Gr.2
  • Lamborghini SCV12 Gr.2
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie Gr.2
  • Mercedes AMG Project One Gr.2

I once read an interview with Gordon Murray in which he expressed his indignation against the ACO who, instead of adopting these modern GT1 cars for the new HyperCars class, merely revised the LMP1 class. The PD could adhere to the idea in the virtual world. It would definitely be a hit with us.

Three of the cars mentioned are already in the game, however, in their original version. The ideal would be to bring prepared versions for a virtual GT1 modality.

Also, it would be interesting create fictitious cars silhouettes of class 1, inspired by Super GT and DTM of the last decade. I believe not there would be legal impediments.

Looking a bit bleak, but still wishing to get the Primera back in. Along with this tv filter. We all needs this in GT7.

A few wishes I have for the Livery Editor:

  • Special paints usable on decals
  • Special paints usable on race attire
  • decals with structure. Think leather structure. Not many care, but some might find it useful.
  • keyboard/mouse support for the Livery Editor.
  • an 'Undo' button, just in case a decal got accidently deleted.

After more than 3 months barely playing the game, or any other game for that matter, I’ve recently started to play again.

I’m doing a Super GT fantasy season and that sparked this Wishlist.

Let’s get to the mandatory QoL improvements first:

1. More customization options for the HUD, cockpit view and sound
2. Physics, dirty air and force feedback improvements
3. Better payouts and roulette odds/prizes

And now the main course; I want a custom championship mode!

Championship mode options would include:

1. Name the championship and add a decal to be the championship banner shown before the races, during the race, post-race screens, etc.
2. Choose the number of rounds and which tracks to use (same track can be used for multiple rounds).
3. Choose the car groups, single make or from your garage, name the drivers, change their nationality, etc (similar to what we can do in custom races).
4. Add a way to choose cars that you don’t own and use custom liveries for each car. This way you wouldn’t need to buy all the cars in the grid and you would not have to buy duplicates just to add custom liveries. You would still need to buy all the cars if you want to do a custom BoP.
5. Customize the way points are distributed along the grid.
6. Set each round settings independently. We would be able to set the number of laps/hours for each race, the weather, the tyre/fuel wear multiplier, bop, rules, etc.
7. The racing settings should be expanded to include mandatory pit stops and mandatory tyres to use. Similar to what we have in online lobbies.
8. Add side by side rolling starts to the race start options.
9. Add an additional difficulty setting where the AI cars will use 100% of the throttle. And add more difficulty settings to use Sophy when available.
10. Each race would be preceded by qualifying. The qualifying settings should be set for each round independently. Tyre/fuel wear, time to qualify, time of day/weather, etc.
11. Show the grid before the race like in the GTWS races and add post-race podium screens when you place top 3 or above. Also show championship winning screen if you place top 3 or above.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

If you can "paint" a car chrome, there is no reason why you can't change any decal to chrome WITHOUT using negatives.

I will add......being able to "remove" or cover up headlights and taillights. There are MANY race cars like this in the real world.

I’ll add another:

Group layers and be able to store grouped layers as a new layer.

Better yet, an additional tab to create decals from collected decals and ingame templates and save them to your collection.

The return of Formula GT, or some fictional open-wheel cars, but with realistic look and performance.

An interesting idea that Polyphony could do is to combine the proposals that Slighy Mad Studios and IRacing have made.

In Project Cars, SMS brought three categories of single-seaters, Formula A, Formula B and Formula C, if I'm not mistaken. The first corresponded to F1, the second to F2 and the last to F3.

iRacing hired Dallara, and asked her to make a custom single seater for the iRacing game.

Polyphony could combine these two proposals, could strike a deal with Dallara or another open wheels car factory.

In GT7, the most powerful car could correspond to F1, the second car to IndyCar, because we already have Super Formula which basically is Formula 2. The third car could correspond to Formula E.

I know that PD did something similar with Red Bull-Newey, but between an exaggerated weird car and a traditional single-seater, with performance similar to current F1, I would prefer the second car, more believable and immersive. And I believe most people think so.

If they can't or not wanted to create Championships and car focused events....
PD LET US TO MAKE OURS with a wide numbers of settings and LET US TO UPLOAD AS EVENTS (Like FH5 does!!!)
It will be a huge push for the game!!!!!

My wishes for this game. I think these ideas would be easy to implement.

Proper timing. If someone gets a fastest sector or lap, flash it up on the screen. Have a position list for vr players. It could be in the roof or down by the gearstick.

Customisable dashboards. Let us add the information we want on multiple screens that we can switch between showing tyre temps or gaps to Infront/behind, lap time info, position list, radar, map. Could use a type of livery editor to make your own.

More smoke. If a car has damage, show smoke from the offending part. Thin black smoke for engine damage. Not enough to obscure vision but enough so everyone knows you have damage. Same with dirty tyres. Show some brown smoke so others know you're compromised. Like real life. And skidding and locked wheels smoke. And it should linger. So you come through 15 seconds later and you know something gone on.

Sorry for long post. I welcome your responses.

What I wish (and I believe it can easily be done) is that PD makes equivalent endurance races in other PP grades and with same payouts or better.
For example, a half hour Le Mans race for Gr.1 cars / 900PP, a one hour race at Spa for Gr.4 / 700PP , or better 900PP. With these new races the same "random" rain patterns should be implemented.
What could be a possibility is make a "Special Event" category in the weekly challenges that is endurance of 30 minutes or more with minimum of 800,000cr as top prize (1.2 mil with CRB).
These are not unrealistic wishes....
