Going to leave this up to SymP and another driver to make the ruling on this. So i'll make no more comments on it.

Its LAG end of story you can see the way the cars glitch, if pipi's car had jerked like that he would have been sent it to crazy spin but he doesn't which means It's LAG. They don't make contact the way you normally see if someone has just ran into the back of someone else, Tbh I would of backed off if I was pipi if the car infront is lagging I've learned the hard way to stay the hell away from lagging cars. Then again I've not seen what pipi seen, when I overtook JT I had to be very careful.

This was the same with me, I only tried the overtake because I had a clean run on him and the lag was minimal. Unfortunately it was lag JT (our incident), your car jumped just as I was about to go past. Trust me, I wouldn't of gone for that move if I couldn't get past cleanly, I try to be as respectful as I can. Just a shame I was in such a flaming mood yesterday

As much as it seems that JT was squeezing him to the inside a little the actual collision seems to look like lag to me.

Just thinking why don't we change the damage to light or something I mean after all we're all ment to be enjoying good racing and lossing +30seconds for 1 mistake by you or someone else or even someone with lag is a bit extreme. As much as a like the fact that people have to pit to fix any damage which encourages you to race as clean as possible. It can ruin someones race in the matter of seconds and most of the time it's problems with connections that cause these incidents. Anyway just a thought.........

This is why my hands are sweaty when I drive. This is why my heart makes that extra beat when the race begins. This is why I wait (and wait, and wait) for that moment to make my move. This is why I think I let the fast aggressive drivers pass... (because I know or hope I will meet them again when they crash into a wall ...... the next lap). This is the difference between plain normal online racing and the GT5 DTM Series!

Common guys... Either this is lag or a bad gather ship of circumstances (that's a Dutch expression)... There's no intention to take each other out and no reckless driving. These situations occur in every race! So unless someone has a very convincing opinion I would say... this is racing

Just kidding m8 I totally agree with what your saying, but there's at least 1 or 2 people lagging in every race and other drivers are been punished for it.

Anyway, i looked at the replays again and i'm afraid i have to disagree the conclusion that this is only a lag issue. Pipi was notyet next to JT so he had every right to defend his position and take the driving line he wanted. Pipi should have backed out and waited for another moment to overtake. Also being aware of the lag makes it an even more risky action. Or do i see this completely wrong?

You could say JT was sitting in the middle of the road and never actualy picked a line into that corner then when pipi tried to take the inside line JT squeezed him. Your right JT has a right to defend but waiting to see what line the guy behind is going to take then trying to stop him is not defending. But you have got to remember this all happened is a matter of seconds, in my opinon both have already been punished.

Your right JT has a right to defend but waiting to see what line the guy behind is going to take then trying to stop him is not defending. But you have got to remember this all happened is a matter of seconds, in my opinon both have already been punished.

My line:
1st corner (left) - hold inside line close to barrier
2nd corner (right) - hold inside line close to barrier
between 1st and 2nd corners - straight line from corner 1 and 2.....

Same line nearly every lap.

ps. my braking point for turn 2 is the second shadow on the right, the same place where i "suddenly stoped" and "lagged" into pipi.

I'm just saying after the first corner it wasn't clear what line you were going to take, but you could also say pipi wasn't along side you when you went to take the inside line so he was is the wrong. If pipi was fully along side you at the 1st corner then he would have the right to the inside line at the next corner (which by the way is almost impossible to overtake in the 2nd corner unless you have the outside line). Anyway I can't see anyone getting a penalty think it would be unfair

Dont think pipi wants me to get a penalty. Think he wants the 30-35 seconds it cost him in the pits back. Need a ruling from someone (other than me because i was involved) tonight as i have to update the standings.
Please dont quit pipi. you are having your best season so far and are fast become a real contender in every race. would be really sad to see you go.
I will most likely miss the next race (monza again) as my family are visiting me at my weekday lodgings. Might still make it depending on the mood of my other half...gutted to miss monza yet again.

Well I think it's unrealistic for any driver to ask for that, either someone is to blame for it and gets a penalty or it's a racing incident where no one recieves a penalty.

Result Race 4 - Rome

Since I'm asked to make the final verdict about the incident between JT and Pipi here's what I have to say about it. Although it's quite frustrating to be taken out by lag it's not realistic to get the time back you lost. The only instrument we will use in this series is penalties when there's somebody to blame of rule breaking. In this case there's nobody to blame and no rules are broken. It's a matter of bad luck and I'm afraid we will always have lag and lag related incidents.

For example, the friends list inside GT got updated very slowly. Sometimes I'll have to wait very long just to enter GT mode from the main menu. And online it happens very often that I got the black screen and no start of the race. Much more often then it used to be.

Anyone else got the same sort of issues?
