DubstepMusic

I'm looking for some new dubstep to listen to. I prefer dubstep remixes of popular songs rather than straight up dubstep created from scratch. An example would be the Pumped Up Kicks Dubstep Remix by Butch Clancy. If anyone has anything interesting to share please do! :)

These songs won't hurt to start off with. You may or may not like them, but they've all made it to my favorites section on YouTube.

Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff (NERO remix)
You can find this on UKFDubstep's official youtube page.

Lisa Miskovsky - Still Alive (This is the remix to the theme song from Mirror's Edge)
Search: Mt Eden Dubstep - Still Alive

The Prodigy - Omen (Mt Eden Dubstep remix)
Search: Mt Eden Dubstep - Prodigy: Omen (Bootleg)

If you are looking for original songs that won't destroy your eardrums and just want to chill out, search on YouTube:
Blackmill - Miracle
Blackmill - Let it Be (Feat. Veela)
Blackmill - Lucid Truth
Blackmill - Rain

I can't stand dubstep anymore. It's just... ugh. Crap.

Everyone do theirselves a favor and search the rest of the EDM Spectrum, there's some much, much better stuff.

Such as House and Techno?

House, Techno, Dutch House, Moombathon, Trap, Electro House, Glitch Hop, and I guess you could could Midtempo/Drumstep/Deep/Purple in with Dubstep to a degree. But most 140bpm dubstep is just crap. It ditches rhythm or flow that even a Glitch song can carry for loud noises. Dubstep may open a lot of people up to EDM, but there's a whollleeee lot more to it.

do you mean the ultrabland **** what all the cool kids jumped on?

If this is the sort of thing that you're referring to then yes.

This is pretty much the main criticism of brostep and why I find it a bit ridiculous that people claim to have been listening to it for ~10 years.

that's a very nice tune wouldn't call it house or techno though
i was thinking more along these lines

@gtuned, i know you're referring to brostep, but that's just merely scratching the surface.

I myself am quite into the EDM scene, and listen to multiple styles - whether that be Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Moombahton, Trance, Trap, Electro House - whatever; I listen to them all. So I have no time for people who argue over the way each genre is structured musically - I find beauty in all forms of it :)

Anywho, just thought I would share some Dubstep that I frequently listen to at the minute. For those of you wanting to find new dubstep, I recommend not just UKF Dubstep, try out the much larger and broader mix of the EDM Network on Soundcloud, with Dubstep.NET a good place to find new sounds. For YouTube, another good alternative is MADubstep 👍

Right, onto the music.

Mt Eden - Chasing

Falcon Funk - Leophant

Figure - Perfect Timing (Stick Up Kids)

Excision & Space Laces - Destroid 7 Bounce

Au5 - The Reason II

Enjoy the Wubs.

I just decided to listen to all of the songs you listed. The last Vex'd song... wow. That bass is brutal. But I like it!

Love the heavy beat on this one.
Toomba- Brace for Impact
The music video is... odd... Don't recommend it for anyone who doesn't like blood or odd things.
Knife Party- Internet Friends
Like the message that this one gives.
Schoolboy- Project no auto-tune

Love this song and artist.
Doctor P- Champagne Bop

:)👍

Deadmau5 - Dub5tepthingie

Despite him just trying it out, it sounds really good. I think it's much better than mainstream artists someone brings up when you mention dubstep to them. Don't expect any "5!ck dr0p$ y0!" because deadmau5 didn't try to copy the usual style where there's a big buildup.

And for other mau5 fans, yes, bits and pieces of this eventually became Raise Your Weapon.

I now have some "Raise Your Weapon" chillstep remix stuck in my head. Darn. such a classic song.

Is there anyone else who's a Synthetic Epiphany fan, here? I'm so trying to wait patiently for the Icarus EP, but it sounds so epic! And, for those of you thinking "who the heck is Synthetic Epiphany?!," he does any genre he wants to, but always includes some deep/heavy bass. Even when he made "house" and calls it "house," it's made with some deep wubs with great subbass. So, when he makes dubstep, it's epic. :)

I loved the original, and I love the remix now. Heard it in gym today and it sounds great!

I just love songs with elements of chiptune.

I'm not sure if that song, SAIL, counts as dubstep, but it has quite a cool bass to it. And that song Radioactive. Although I don't think they class as dubstep, as I know that Skrillex is pretty much all I hear when I mention dub...I think they're a few types of dubstep, right...?

None of them are dubstep. Skrillex isn't even dubstep. Skrillex is severely glitched electro house with brostep elements.

'Tis a minefield.

Ahhh, okay, I guess my mates just haven't heard *real* dubstep.
Real dubstep is Noisia, Knife Party, Modestep, Savant etc. All of those are dubstep artists, but venture into different genres.

Ahh. I will go and listen to some, and fill my ears and brain with sound....Mmm, sound.

Would anyone here consider any of Asa's songs dubstep? Sorrow?

Asa & KOAN Sound - Raw Tones?

Sorrow - Mourner?

Or, is it divulging more into future garage?

I do think a lot of people would like the songs, but - especially the Sorrow track - they are kinda soft by comparison to other dubstep songs.

People get far too hung up on what category the music should be in with it's BPM and all the rest of it.

Who the hell cares, if you like it, listen to it and enjoy it :)
