Was it ever reliable last year ~cough, Silverstone~

Yeah but at least it finished some races with no problems, today both cars have had trouble all day.

Shame about Morgan, Sam helping out Honda more than his team.

Wow, champion's drive from Shedden, great stuff 👍

Great to see Adam Morgan sort himself out and have a clean weekend and great driving from Sam Tordoff too.

Nice also to see Wrathall apologise for race 2 and for Rob Austin to take it on the chin (admitting he did the same to Welch last year).
Hopefully for Austin they can get the car repaired because he showed some serious pace this weekend and seemed to have a great strategy having got the soft tyres out of the way in the first race.

Motorbase and WSR really need to get themselves sorted out but at least they have some reliable and consistent drivers, Turkington especially kept finishing in the top 10 after being taken out and dropping to the bottom of the field in 2 races!
In fact, I think Turkington came from the back to finish in the top 10 in all 3 races!

Weekend to forget for:
Rob Austin (though it has promise!)
Dave Newsham
Rob Collard
Mat Jackson
team HARD

Oh and a shout out to Jeff Smith for a flawless weekend and being right on pace with Jordan! So much for those people who kept mentioning him as a useless pay driver - him and Nick Foster prove you can be a gentleman driver and compete with the best!
In fact, Liam Griffin had a decent weekend too really and the Jack Sears trophy is all to play for!

From the Rob Austin Racing facebook page...

"Well race 3 was awesome, for one lap. Car was fantastic, 20th to 10th in one lap. But Newsham lost it and came across in front for an unavoidable accident. Damage nowhere near as bad as it looked. Cage and subframes OK. Looking forward to Donington, we are going to be strong..."

Hope its true. Surprised the shell is fine considering the impact he hit the wall at.

Austin's crash is a great example of why you sometimes drive towards the accident, not away. If he had kept on his line (maybe braking a bit as well), Newsham's car would have moved out of his way, but instead he tried to outrun it.
Its difficult to make that decision in a split second though and you don't always know if the other car is going to keep rolling or remain stationary unlike an oval.

You mean how you drive at where the other guy is because he won't be there when you get there?

If so, I agree but I think there was someone on his left so he couldn't go that way and had to go to the right and go towards where the accident would happen.

Ah yeah I think Turkington or Foster was just ahead of him in the BMW and he to avoid him braking as well. Good spot!

Ah yes, the old advice of when following a car which is spinning out aim for the rear not the front. This usually works 9 times out of 10 but sometimes you can't react quick enough sadly..

All in all a brilliant weekend of racing putting aside some of my favorite drivers having troubles, or like Jordan in race 1, making a huge duck up!

(Newsham and Turks were who I personally felt most sad for..)

M'eh, not the best results for the WSR BMW's, difficult to even get an idea of their pace. Some good racing from the usual suspects.

The good thing was Turkington was right on the ball though, despite being dumped to the back of the field 3 times, he finished in the top 10 in all 3 races. No rust there then!

Quite true....although that one gravel trap seemed to have his name on it all weekend

Slightly unrelated, but man, I wish this wan't an April fools joke:

Ha ha ha, that would be awesome.

Those vans look great! Reminds me of the Ford Transit with the Mazda 787b livery I saw at Le Mans last year.

Also Dan Welch's behind the scenes vids look like they'll be good. His Proton is a great looking car too.
