Jordan on pole - called it :D

Good to see Rob Austin up in 7th and fastest of the RWD cars. Shame for Turkington and Goff to start their seasons with a crash, at least now we get to see what Turkington can do right from race 1!

Ok thanks, any major change in btcc this year in ruling ? Like I know the way the grid is handeled changed in wtcc but what about btcc, everything the same as last year ?

-S2000 cars no longer get performance parity with NGTC.
-The amount that the turbo boost is adjusted for performance parity is reduced (so it will go up or down less).
-Boost adjustments will be every 2 race weekends.
-The regulations on where the engine is positioned with regards to the cooling and steering column have altered slightly for NGTC (this is to do with 888 for example struggling with their power steering last year).
-A new softer tyre is available for 1 race each weekend, teams/drivers have to elect when they are going to use this tyre before qualifying.
-Cars can no longer run mixed compound setups (e.g. front-drive cars running a mix of wets and slicks).
-Performance parity boost adjustments will be based on each driver in each team, instead of per car like last year (so this time not all of the Honda's will get pegged back the same amount).
-3 verbal warnings = 6-place grid penalty.

So all the teams which chose to use the soft tyre for race 1 are hoping for rain in race 2 and 3 now? :sly:

Yup, it will be interesting to see which race people use it. Some might go for race 3 taking advantage of the mixed up grid. Probably most people will use it in race 1 though, because it also decides the grid for race 2 and hence also race 3.

When the race comes, will this steam be available to people outside of the UK? Usually when I try to watch something live from another country, it deliberately blocks off other regions.

Race 1 should be around my dinner time. Btcc and Fish and Chips. Win-win.

Nope this stream is for uk only, however you can use a proxy. That's what I did for the qualification.

Looking forward to a new season. Many cars, many teams, many drivers, four champions on grid, and lets not forget the support package features the slicks and wings formula ford!

Good luck to all in 2013

Already a bmw in trouble... Girling with issues, and toc spinning the vw limo...

Tyre choice interesting.

Thanks. Couldn't get it to work on the BTCC site, but I found another site to stream ITV4. Missed the first race... but time for the Formula Fords. 👍

Austin was good at the start. Nice to see him get on the podium.

Wrathall was great though, coming from the back like that for 6th

Can see him challenging for a win the next race without that ballast like the other top 5

I think Turkington will stay low top ten in race 2 and get a good grid spot for race 3.

:D:D:D:D:D:D so happy seeing Austin get that great start in race 1 and lead. Hoping for big things in race 2!

Also, Plato winning the first race - called it :D

Notable drives from Wrathall, Turkington, Welch and Goff from the back of the grid in that first race.

Shame about the Hondas and BMWs struggling. And I can't believe Jackson's luck with that Ford!

Wrathall / Austin...
