:banghead: this may be a dumb question to others but what is your prefrence or what is the "right" way to drift.....so this is kind of a mini-poll...E-Brake Or FootBrake....I Go with E-brake. :mischievous:

It was my polite way of saying "This is a Stupid thread". :)

Seriously though, your question doesn't really make much sense. "what is the "right" way to drift" There's lots of different methods of drifting and they're all "right".

yeh i know....thats why i posted at the top :banghead: this may sound like a stupid question.....i just wanted to know people prefrence:( haha nice picture though

Yeah, I get that, but the question is really vague. If you're talking about Brake drifting, then I would recommend the footbrake.

I use the E mostly wit my AWD..
OOPS, sorry you meant RWD, my bad oh well

i never use the e-brake on my 4wd cars, i seem to drift better on awds then Rwds:embarrassed:

I use the foot brake on RWD cars because it isn't necessary to use the emergency brake IMO because the rear end can lose traction very easy.If I can't usually get the rear end out, I'll try feint drifting and then use the foot brake. The only time I ever use the ebrake is to hold the drift to drift two consecutive corners or on 4WD cars, like my Skyline. I rarely touch it though :odd:

Preference lies in the foot brake, admittedly.
I'm not too sure why, but I have a small dislike for the e-brake itself, unless it's absolutely necessary. Feels like I'm just taking the easy road out, instead of using skill.

What skill I have, anyway.

Easy road out? That would be putting softer tires on the front. E-brake requires plenty of skill to be used properly. People on this forum need to stop thinking about the e-brake as a "cheap trick." It is just as much a part of drifting as the foot brake, throttle, steering wheel, etc.

Personally, I use both e-brake and foot brake. Anyone who doesn't use the e-brake is like a pitcher who doesn't pitch curve balls. Sure, the other methods might work, and you might find them more comfortable or more natural, but that doesn't make the e-brake any less useful. You're only limiting yourself. Why limit yourself when you can better yourself instead?

This... is some good food for thought, come to think of it. I think I'll be seeing if I find myself using the e-brake in a few tricks anytime soon. I guess it's easy to think of it in a negative light like that, when all you hear about it is that it's a cheap trick in itself.

Cheers for not leaping on me and tearing me apart, especially while I'm resident forum idiot from planet newbie :P
