Thanks to @PJTierney for the new Setups section on the Discord. Like @UKMikey Im not a huge Discord user (too much riff raff) 😂 but the setups section is well thought out and looks good.

Lowering Ride heights and lengthening the final drive is where my setup abilities end so it looks like it could be a useful tool. 😄👍

Decided to give it a shot myself :mischievous:...........6 seconds behind @RYAN :grumpy::lol:
You can do better than that!!! It's only a short stage! 😂

I'll have to try @PJTierney 's setup from the Discord as all I did was lengthen the final drive and lower the car a couple of clicks.

Does everyone not use cockpit cam, I do play gt7 on bumper cam as I find im faster, but when rallying I find cockpit easier/ much more fun.
I use chase cam for this game primarily. Always felt more comfortable and faster in chase cam than cockpit or bonnet in rally games. Also as a pad user, there's always something that's jarred me using a pad either a cockpit view.

As a Dualshock 4 user I use Bonnet cam in WRC and most realistic games.

In more arcade games like FH Etc I use chase just to experience the visuals a bit more.
Yep, I am exactly the same.

I personally think that, for single screen users, cockpit views are not that realistic as they usually limit your peripheral vision.

I use chase cam except in F1 games where always use the TV pod view, for some reason. Dunno why the difference.

I've tried to give up chase cam really hard. I've gone cold turkey, sworn to myself not to be a noob. I've played cockpit view and enjoyed it. I've thought 'hey this is fine, I think I'm gonna do it' then I have a stressful day and I just look at the PS5 and give in to the temptation time and again. I might try hypnotherapy. I want to be a proper sim racer so much but I just can't give up chase cam, it's awful.

I wouldn't worry about it - even some pros use chase cam as evidenced in the recent WRC video. Whatever suits your style of play best.

(Personally speaking, I can't use chase cam to save my life which is probably why I'm such a rubbish drifter.)

Nothing noobish or awful about using chase cam. Gives a much better sense for me on controller of where the car is on the road.

In my case it varies depending on conditions and the car. For DR2 I was exclusively using the bonnet camera, however in this game the hood ends up being a real visual impediment when it gets damaged using that view (and it was happening a lot around release) so I decided to move backwards to the "dash" camera primarily.

For some cars I find the FOV isn't good in that view as it's too narrow or limited visibility e.g. Stratos, the new WRC2 Yaris. In those cases I go back another step i.e one short of full cockpit view. I run ACC in cockpit view with the DS4 but it just doesn't work for me here, it just feels like there's too much of a disconnect (again, probably an FOV issue).

The lighting issue also means I have to go back to bonnet cam on clear-noon snow stages, it's almost impossible to make out the road from an interior view.

Nothing noobish or awful about using chase cam. Gives a much better sense for me on controller of where the car is on the road.
For me it's the complete opposite, in any other camera if I get a slide going I can usually tell if I'm in control or not. Seeing the rear fish-tailing in real time makes me correct it instinctively when I don't need to (more often than not leading to some massive shunts 😅).

Hi All. I’m new to this forum. Has anyone ever done replay cams for WRC .It would be great if anybody could do just track action replay cams with no helicopter views as an alternative to the standard ones. We need more stage action cams please.

Isn't one of the replay modes exactly that? The External camera but no heli shots?

@PJTierney

Earlier I tried another go on PJ's challenge as I like to call it. This time using PJ's setup he posted on Discord. Felt great on a pad, As you use a Wheel PJ that's a real credit to the game and its physics that the setup changes work similarly on both Pad and Wheel 👍

I feel the high rear camber really loosened the rear so it could turn in really nicely on the more fast and sweeping corners. Perfectly geared too.

Over to you @Ali

I too tried PJ's tune, it definitely feels different compared to a near stock setup! Not very enjoyable, but quick. I was expecting to get 1:51.XXX with this run, but my last two sectors weren't smooth enough.

Hi. I can only see one track cameras but it has heli cams in it. The other cams are internal or mixture of both.

I use the view halfway between the movable cockpit cam and the close dash cam, however these cameras likely slow me down in under poor weather and night conditions. Frankly, there are times I can’t see where I’m going and my stage times reflect this.

I use the close cockpit view mostly, that said if it's raining heavily or at night I tend to switch it to bonnet cam.

I do find it generally pretty tricky in low-light on this game, headlights (even with light pods) never seem to light up quite enough for me to see properly. Might be just me though.

Beginner's Guide has a bit on camera views: http://x.ea.com/82364

Camera Angles

EA SPORTS™ WRC features several camera angles, both inside and outside the car, so that everyone finds a comfortable view.

The camera angle you choose will depend on a variety of factors, but ultimately the right choice is the one that feels most comfortable when driving. There is no “wrong view” in this game.

Here are some brief notes on the most common views:

  • Bumper: This is placed at the front of the car, low to the ground. Great for providing a sense of speed and a direct connection to the car’s movements, but offers a limited field of view.

  • Bonnet/Hood: This is placed just in front of the car’s windshield, in the middle of the car. Provides a wide and slightly elevated view of the road, without the screen being covered by the car’s cockpit. This is the view most commonly used by competitive players.

  • Cockpit: There are multiple interior views available. Best for immersion as you feel like you’re sitting in a real rally car.

  • Chase: These are the external views showing the entire car on-screen. They provide the best view of the car and the surrounding environment, and can help some players visualise the weight transfer effects their driving is placing upon the car.
The camera view can be changed with “Triangle” on PlayStation, “C” on a PC keyboard, and “Y” on Xbox. Field of View can be adjusted within the Options & Extras menu.

I was Bumper cam in DiRT Rally, and Bonnet in DiRT Rally 2.0 and EA SPORTS WRC.

I like being in the "middle" of the car as that helps me position my wheels better on the edge of the road.

Yup, I was a bumper-cam dude back in the days of GT3 but switched to the bonnet view maybe 15 years ago.

I find it best for situations like recovering from fishtailing, for one thing.

Always use cockpit cam for immersion myself, can see why people are put off with not being able to judge where wheels are but I’ve found by using cockpit cam all of the time any other view for me would be slower and messier.

When I manage to zone out while driving the full cockpit view and darkened room really help transport you into the car like reality.

Or maybe it’s all the middle aged meds that’s doing the trick 😂

I use various cameras in many different games
Usually with rally games I use dashboard or bonnet as it’s more central with the car’s axis, which helps with rotation

I naused up my career year good and proper by going on the Regularity Rally Tour instead of the Regularity Icons tour. :(

I hope Max forgives me but I have a feeling I'll get a real ****ty offer next year

I had my first go of the Online Multiplayer last night. It was quite fun. Think I bumped into a squad of friends as there were a lot of Paraguayan flags in the lobby. I had a good battle with those guys. It all worked smoothly.

Still on my doomed career year tour. I like the variable weather this year but boy, it's hard to slide round a Greek hairpin in the rain. Building up the required speed for the run up brings an ever-present risk of yeeting myself off the mountain.

So in regards to custom (PAK) liveries, are they intended to be standalone or do you have to sacrifice an existing skin? I've downloaded a couple and in both cases they've overwritten the default livery, was wondering if I messed something up or if that was by design...
