[Endurance] 2nd Akasaka Grand Prix - The Successor to Trial Mountain 2 HoursOpen

How good is a 1:25.4 for the 500PP class? On RS online with full fuel.

Edit: I didn't read the title.

Nah, we can work it out. It's just so people don't come five minutes before race start and get upset because they weren't put on the list.

Should probably edit title to reflect that better.

In that case, I should be able to do it. 👍 Can you glitch it into raining for me? ;)

I'm afraid my l33t g1i7ch3r ski11z aren't up to the task anymore - and it might be just a tad late - but hey, it'd be an interesting plot twist for next time (and yes, everyone, I am planning for next time to be at a track not normally capable of rain. That's gonna narrow the search, isn't it?)

Also that 1:25 you were talking about is definitely competitive.

I would, but the only real previous competition reference I have is the old TM2H thread, and the winning cars back then ran at a pace similar to the 500PP class of 2016.

Considering how they got on for 80-something laps (IIRC), I'll be disappointed if The Mighty V12 doesn't do more than 75. Any other classes are on for breaking the distance record.

I estimated that the 680's will most likely do 105+ laps and the 600's will do 90-ish laps.

I calculated that when seeing how long can stints go with my car, and was also testing a 680 car nobody picked but it's so op I can't believe it(can do 1:09's without actually tuning it)

..yeah, I might have to either pull a GT Sport (though not as big) or sit out on my own event.

Like a bolt out of the blue, it's been decided that we're going to see some racing this weekend. Normally I wouldn't mind - in fact I'd be looking forward to it because it's been quite long (a few years, I think) since last - and had it been any regular raceday, we'd be home a few hours before we start here, no problems. Except this is a night race on Saturday, where I've been looking forward to a certain something else for quite some time by now.

I had hopes the last scare we had would be the only, but no, things haven't been against me enough on this one. When will I learn it's always a battle that can't be won?

So... it's going to be delayed a la GTS, isn't it...? I mean I understand that real life racing above the virtual kind, but the announcement really came out of the blue.

Just how long is this night race to warrant such a concerned reaction to the time clash it would create?

That's the thing - I'll essentially be gone all day. Until Midnight. And then there's getting back.

I'm leaving this decision up to you guys - postpone by two weeks or run without me (I will put ít on in two weeks if it turns out nothing happened anyway).

I can take a pushback by 2 weeks. I'll be on dogsitting duty the following weekend anyway.

Then I'd say it's a "yes" regarding the delay thing. You're in for a long night midnight is your coming back time...

As for the decision, my choice is clear; postponing for two weeks. Running the race without its founder is like having an Apple tribute without a single mention of Steve Jobs.

Yeah push back 2 weeks. Since we pretty much still have a little less than a year or a year who knows left on GT6 so plenty of time to schedule something to make it work for all of us which means more racers can hop in for the big race

Wow. I had expected maybe a couple to say we could push it back, let alone respond. Right now, you're all winners in my book!

Given that we now have an undefined extra amount of time without GTS, perhaps, rather than The Grand Finale, I should make the next of these reimagined-classic-GT-enduros a certain night race, just for the irony of it. Heck, that'd be some sort of anniversary as well!

Well that choice isn't something we could be silent over, is it? :sly:

Also, a night enduro race? But silly morten, we don't have SS11 available in GT6! How can we pay hommage to that? ;)

Push it back two weeks, my work schedule will be more flexible to this event. I wouldn't have made it if the event was this weekend.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it in two weeks but I'll let you know when it's closer.

Rescheduling an event is never optimal, but I hope most people can still make it.

On the positive side, this does mean two more weeks of testing. Essentially this race is being turned up to 11.

I say push it two weeks because I accidentally made the car tail happy on exits and I don't have time to fix it now.

That's a question for me to answer, but yes, race in two weeks and two hours or thereabouts.

Also I might change the livery on my Aston, because guess what one of the first things to welcome me to the race day was?

Seeing that, a Lotus Elise, a X-Bow and some formula cars on track at once reminds me we need some sort of "these cars are what GT is all about" show event.

Is that actually your Aston Martin?

Allow me to just throw this idea out there for future events.

The two race car classes, unfortunately, haven't been able to attract anywhere near the numbers I could've hoped for, so I'm thinking about a slight reorganisation for next time.

Instead of having a 600PP and a 680PP race class, I propose to combine the two into a single 650PP (just to stick with familiar PP numbers) class and introduce a new, ~400PP class, mainly intended for Cup Cars (ie. Lupo, MM-R, Cappuccino Race Car) and road cars not quite able to reach the full 500.

It is just an idea I'm letting loose, if it's not to anybodys liking, we'll continue using the current setup.
