Endurance Racing and Gran Turismo

Hope they add more details into race modify your cars, Like adding racing stripes different size widths, center, off center stripes, number plates color , numbers with no plates, being able to paint parts of the car , like hood , fenders , doors , so you can have a multi color car, . Add Rally Car lights, Bring back the F1 series of races, Add a Pony War series of races, The Road America Track would be nice,!

I do like endurance racing. With that said,I dont think that GTS is the game for that.
In Ps4 the way to go is Pcars. All the elements for a good sim endurance racing is in that game. You may not be able to "customize" the "looks" of the car or take "cool photos" in "great landscapes" but you are able to prepare the car (set it up),keeping in mind the differences and difficulties from real time progression and weather changes that affect both the car and the track during the race.
In other words, you can actually have a good sim experience of an endurance racing.

Other games providing a better endurance racing experience =/= Gran Turismo Sport should not have endurance racing. GT Sport can still provide tests of physical and mental endurance and focus, tire wear and conservation, pit strategy, tuning strategy and more. If people like the game and enjoy playing it, there's no reason they should have to switch to another game to enjoy some endurance racing.

Again mate you quote one of my posts in order to prove me wrong. But what did I say? That Pcars,a game race fans should propably already have by now,can provide better endurance racing experience because of two factors:real (or unreal) wheather and time progression. The way you put it,yes, any game that lets you do races over 3-4 hours, can challange people in a "endurance" racing. My point was that with Pcars you'll have a more authentic experience. You can start racing under the sun,for example and finish the race in the night. You can add different weather situations in the same race,as it happens in real life races.
If you think racing for 4 hours under the same conditions and in the same time frame is exactly the same thing with that,ok mate.Other (me for sure) dissagree with you.
And like I already said, that game, imo, any race fan should already have.So I am not talking about switching to another game.If fact,if someone is a race fan, should feel happy. There are already good racing games in concoles (Pcars,DIRT for example) and we are going to have more coming sooner or later(AC,GTS,Pcars2 ext).
As one of my friends say:"Drive them all".
There is not a single game that does everything good. And you have to keep an open mind. For example,as far as online racing,GTS I am pretty sure will be better than Pcars in some (or many) aspects.GTS in focusing in e-sports so expect it not to have the same problems that Pcars have in online races.Should that stop me enjoying Pcars?I dont think so.Should be the other way?(Because Pcars is a very good game skip GTS or AC)?No way.
And what if I dont have the luxury to have 2-3 racing games?Well then, you should pick what is right for you.

I didn't say that endurance racing in the two games is the same thing and I referenced it with the parameters available in GTSport to show it wasn't the same. It just doesn't add anything to the conversation about endurance racing in GTSport to essentially say, "If you want endurance racing, go play another game". If they wanted to play another game they'd be over in that forum talking about it right?

Fair point.I was offering my opinion.Anyway I think that online racing will be better in GTS than any other racing game (or thats what I hope). And that includes endurance when done online.

So then whats the point of the endurance race then?
I believe that's the point Samus is getting at. Unless those important factors of endurance racing are put in to GT, endurance racing should continue to be excluded from the game.

Hey guys. Just one question. How many of you would be willing to drive a 12h race @ Spa with GT3 cars when the game comes out? And you're not welcome if you're going to leave mid-race. It would be cool to livestream such a race, and if anyone could do live commentary that would be cool. I have this idea in mind, doing an endurance for charity. Raise money by racing.

Thing is, people have experienced things like dynamic weather and time in previous GT's, so they will expect that to be a standard feature on a more powerful platform. I already found it to be questionable to have it only on specific tracks, but ok, we've moved on to PS4, so the extra power can be put to good use now, no? To then not have dynamic time and weather at all feels like a degradation, especially when other titles do offer those and GT was always considered the forefront of eye candy.

At the same time I can understand why they leave out dynamic time, because the performance impact is huge: instead of pre-baked lighting everything has to be dynamic and it's very hard to get it to look decent. Dynamic weather adds even more load on top with added physics, cloud calculation, etc. etc. So I can imagine they want to spend those CPU/GPU cycles somewhere else. But if they make this tradeoff, it better show in other aspects of the game, like a locked 60FPS and a large car count.

Referencing GT1 again. 300kms in a JGTC, tyre wear & fuel pitstops. That was the greatest experience. Never mind the car prize.

Just seems like Kaz wants to start from scratch. Having players enjoy the racing experience is paramount. TOD, damage, etc., won't mean a thing if the game isn't enjoyable.

In PCARS, I'm doing 15minute races. Watkins Glen full. Time set at 4pm, weather set at light clouds, AI @100 in a One Make Ginetta G40 race. Fun. If PD can reproduce the experience, we'd all benefit. 24minutes or 24hours, wouldn't matter.

As in one person driving for 12 hours straight? Hell no.
