Endurance Racing in Career

In my main career i'm at the end of season 3 and have the Le Mans 24 hour race to go before I end the season. Not sure how long that i'm doing the race for. Also not sure on which car that i'll be driving i'm either going to go for the win in an LMP1 or go for the Bentley in GT3

I haven't done ANY endurance racing at all this week due to time constraints, but I'm hoping to host a GT4 endurance race online @ Sakkito GP on Saturday if anyone is interested.

What information do you get on the weather forcast now? I find it unrealistic when you only know the current weather state, surely yournteam could tell you rain is likely in the next 10minutes?

Finished the 12 hours Nordschleife GT Endurance, although I reduced it to 6 hours.
My engineer being very useful in the video below, after I requested a pit stop to change to wet tyres:

Bob's crazy passing move during his stint:

And me bringing the car home with 52 aero damage after bumping a back marker in the previous lap.

A good race though, with 1 hour of rain.
Next up, the WEC GT Championship, 6 races of endurance fun!

Don't know after Patch 3, but before: surely not. Does not work. Tried it several times.

That's a real shame then, I'd love to do the longer races at 100% length but never get the chance. Anyone know if SMS are working on a mid race save feature?

Well, though a lot of people were asking for this feature, they are still discussing if it should be implemented or not.
Mid race save seems out of the question, but saving while in pits could be possible because for some reason (I have little knowledge of that) it would take lesser memory/smaller save files.

What you can do (not ideal) is pause the game and turn your sound and screen off, but leave the PS4 run.
I did that two times and I had no issues, could continue and finish the race.

I also had B-spec BOB help me two times. One time was OK, the second time, when I took over and car was still in the pit lane, it crashed into an invisible object and I got a DSQ for driving in the wrong direction...

Does the ps4 suspend game work very well for splitting up endurance races, I can never get the 4-6 hours to complete the race

There was a fix for the suspend game crashes in 3.0 though. Just try it out to see if it works, doesnt have to be a long race. You can suspend the game in lap 3 of 5 too.

Thanks, I was going to but did not get to it yet. I'm having too much fun racing in the rain for now... :D

I've just given it a few goes on a solo race weekend, with 23 opponents no dramas, with 44 opponents still works but first 5 Seconds of game play was very low frame rate. Yet to try in career mode though as my next session is a race at sakitto and don't want to screw it up

Even if you unplug the wheel?

And if you leave it plugged, wouldn't this mess the calibration?
Yes. I had this happen several times before patch 2. Even bought a USB extension cable to be able to do the unplug/replug ceremony without getting out of my seat.
Never lost calibration.

The problem with suspend mode, even if it works, is the wheel. It'll lose calibration once you return the PS4 back to life.
I've had this happen with Driveclub too, so it's not exclusively a pCARS issue. The unplugging technique should overcome it though

How do you you unlock this race?

Round 2 of the US Endurance Championship.
Something is really wonky with this race. :(
I started on pole and drove the 1st stint of 1 hour, then gave the Car to Bob.
While he was driving, most of the LMP's retired in the pits (watch the pits in the video as Bob goes past), and 1 went off the track, got stuck and stayed there.
I saw Bob was getting low on fuel so I called him into the pits, but he refused to come in and eventually ran out of fuel!
I got 8th place in the race so I'm tied for 1st in the championship with 1 race at Road America to go.
