Yes, you are right. I tried to chase your ghost. It's actually hard for me to keep up with you in the esses. 👍
I'm still off the pace overall. But can see lots of time to make. The esses is where I always make up time, the suzuka esses are my sweet spot in GT5, if I could only be as good everywhere else !

just had a quick session.

First completed lap was a 10.3XX, 2nd was a 9.7XX

With 21(?) corners it is so hard to string a decent lap together.

Watched Dans lap, pretty much exactly the lines im trying to take, but he does it so so much better 👍

Yeah, it's very hard to string a lap together with 3 good sectors. I'm struggling with that too.

It's so frustrating because you can be on the right racing line but enter a corner a bit too fast or be a bit careless with the throttle and then you feel the back stepping out, and you think "There goes that lap, again."

I can probably get 0.2 more out of my lap, but that 0.2 is going to take a while to get I think.:indiff:

Hey guys,

I won't have much time this week, as I'm travelling soon and want to make a decent time in the WRS before I go. Busy with my studies aswell, so please just don't look at the time I produced, its embarrassing! :ouch:

Just submitting to compete, even though my time isn't competitive :nervous:

Mad, I don't need your replay anymore (as you've probably seen) I got my bytes back to day and was able to reconnect to PSN.

What tyres are everyone using? I'm using s1s on the front. It still has alot of grip but less tendancies to oversteer.

S2's here which I think is the default for Arcade Time Trials - actually never even thought of changing them and we're already on week 9. :)

I'm on S2's. Still haven't had another go, been concentrating on WRS.

It seems once again the sixaxis users are going to get munted on this one. I think I'm getting a G25 with a wheelstand pro very soon - is it a good choice?

Hey Nibbers,

Thanks for the tip about the S1's on the front, I'll have to give that a try--never even thought of it :dopey:

Yes, the G25 is a great choice and I would highly recommend doing it. I hope I'm not maxing out already, but I'm at least 1 to 1.5 seconds per lap quicker in race pace with the wheel (G25). Although as mad94, holl01, and spyrrari (just to name a few) also use the DFGT, you couldn't go wrong there either. It's about $100 US cheaper than the G25. The main edge that I see with the G25 is the pedals--they are rock solid and if you put them on the carpet they won't budge. As for the wheelstand, I should be getting it in the post today or tomorrow, but from everything I've heard, it should be very good as well. Although the makeshift setup I've put together is quite good (wheel hooked up to old computer desk). If I would have known this setup would work so well, I might not have ordered the wheelstand :dunce:
Would've saved $179 :ouch: In short, yes, get a wheel ASAP. It'll be one of the best purchases you've ever made 👍

DFGT is great.👍 The pedals don't move at all because of the carpet gripping system. The RA functions come in handy sometimes too. Obviously getting good times isn't a problem because Dan uses one. All in all, if you can't afford a G25(like me), a DFGT is a great alternative.👍

Bad news for me, injured my thumb on sunday with quite a deep cut, had to have 6 stitches and cant bend it for a while, wont be improving on this week and propably the next 2 races i wont be able to compete either, as i didnt save my current fastest lap replay i cant even get points for this week. [Was just wondering if you could get points from this race without a replay? because there is nowere on the track were you could 'cheat' and for your lap still to be valid on the leaderboard.

...no change of rules, if you dont like it find another championship to race in its no skin of our nose, were fed up of all the whining about rules, simple as if you dont like it GO!.

;)

Thanks for that mate, it's now a question of hecklering my parents. I've done it before and I'll try to bring everything together and do it again.
It's supposed to be for my birthday, which is in July (the 15th - remember it everyone!!) but it comes when there is supposed to be alot of work (I'm in yr12) so I'm trying to get it now so I can actually use it and it won't be such a distraction.

hmmm yeah, but if you use your brain its imposible to cheat a lap at suzuka, dont matter if its not allowed ill only be about 12th anyway, just a surgestion.

Unlike when i was in charge people were trying to change the rules... im not, there good as they are but for certain tracks you just cant cheat anyway.... if its not aloud then i wont argue.

I hope you heal well sir. A wicked fast man is down! Get back on the horse, ASAP.

*grabs chair and popcorn*

*enjoys scenery while waiting for show to begin*

get well soon marky, must have been a pretty horrific accident to require 6 stitches! these things happen i guess, a few months ago i sliced open my foot stepping on a piece of glass, didnt get any stiches though although a doctor recommended them, healed ok though

Thanks guys, wasnt that bad but there was so much blood, got a week off work then hopefully ill be back to normal within a week as a the moment im not aloud to move my thumb[which is a PAIN].

Your injury sounded bad Dan, i never knew about it.

Get well soon markyboy. A shame to lose such a fast racer.

 DK, i'm hoping there won't be a show and not too many fireworks like in the first couple of rounds. It's tough because what ever we choose someone will be upset.

My first impression would be to not allow your time but you do make a good point in saying you can't cheat and get your time in the rankings. I'm going to have a long, hard think about this one since I hate DQ'ing people(especially friends).

hmmmm,i think Timppaq's reaction says enough...(double check it!)

and, like me earlier,he does use his brain...

so if you think not following the rules is because you DO use your brain,i am seriously doubting you fairness...

i am really sorry to hear about your injury Marky, but that does not change anything...you know that aswell as anybody else...!

spyrrari.

ok................. doesnt matter then, no replay no points, even if it is guaranteed to be clean, i know i shouldnt have even asked.

Any news on your wheel spyrrari?

p.s- if it was any other track except suzuka i wouldnt have even asked, for obvoius reasons.

spyrrari.

I'm siding with Spyrrari here.............. and i personally beleive that there are quite a few sections of the track that are in the grey areas of legal without penalty, but i don't make the rules, Polyphony do.

But, the rules have been set in stone young Mad. No replay, no time. It's that simple. Don't waver from it.

Yeah, i'm going to have to agree with osg and spyrrari on this one. We can't change the rules, if we do it makes it unfair for others. So markyboy your time won't be allowed.

ok round 1 went smooth

*takes sip of beer*

*awaits round 2*

 I'm hoping there won't be a round 2.:nervous: I'm happy with how round 1 went.

EDIT: Now down to a 2'08.749. By the way "green concrete area's and green astro turf is part of the track".

I'll give this a go tomorow, think i could maybe hit a 2'11 to pick up a point or two, will be difficult because i cant drip the wheel with my left hand and thats bad news with this handful of a car on the longest track.
