Tons wolf, just sort your garage by Drive train(FF), then PP, hit square to see a large picture of the car(this will help you see if it is a coupe by size), then just scroll down to 390 pp to 370 pp cars, and pick a coupe. I think the general idea was to not run Minis and roadsters and the like. Reading the description will help with unfamiliar cars. As a suggestion try the Mazda Lantis(US name 323F).

How about the Fiat HGT Abarth????

Can I drive the Lantis Coupe even though it has 4 doors?

I think it is a sedan. Just because they put Coupe in the title, doesn't make it so. I think really, it may be a five-door. But, it does say Coupe, so... it is gray, but... might as well.

How about the Fiat HGT Abarth????

That is very much so a hot hatch. I say save that for another night.

A quick list of potential options (PP is based on MyGT so it may be off a bit, but it should get the idea across). These run from about 413PP to 387PP on MyGT, so they should all work, though it may not be an exhaustive list. Furthermore, Vol can decide if he doesn't think some of these fit. I think the Preludes are probably the iffyist, but they're just big 2-doors as I see them:

Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '03
Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus '00
Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98
Mitsubishi Eclipse GT '95
Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '99
Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '95
Acura Integra Type R '01
Toyota Celica SS-II (ST202) '97
Acura RSX Type-S '04<-- The closest thing in the game to my real car. :)
Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '97
Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '99
Honda Prelude Type S '96
Honda Prelude Si VTEC '91
Mitsubishi FTO GPX '97
Mitsubishi FTO GPX '99
Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 24V '01
Honda Prelude SiR S spec '98
Mitsubishi FTO GPX '94
Toyota Celica SS-II (ZZT231) '99
Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS '03
Honda Prelude Type S '98
Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 24V '98
Alfa Romeo Spider 3.0i V6 24V '01
Honda Prelude SiR '96

I hope that helps

Ok, let me know if I'm off base here, but my understanding is that a Coupe is a 2 door car that is not a convertible and not a hatchback. Is there more to the definition than that?

There's nothing close to my car in game. I don't even think there is a Nissan with the QR25DE motor in it. :grumpy:

I have one of those, also. In my case it's a Nissan Altima 2.5 SL '11. ;)

Wikipedia
"Classic coupés" are hardtopped sports cars or sporty variants of sedan (saloon) body styles, with doors commonly reduced from four to two, and a close-coupled interior (i.e. the rear seat placed further forward than in a standard sedan) offering either two seats or 2+2 seating (space for two passengers in the front and two occasional passengers or children in the rear).

The bit about the rear seats is what makes the Prelude iffy. If you just go with the two door bit than muscle cars are coupes. . . it's a bit vague.

I can tune the Acura 3.2 to be just like me fiances 2.2 CL. I just limit the engine to like 60% and make the trany as bad as I can.

I say we go with "a fixed roof and two doors" as criteria. Hatchbacks fall into the realm.

2003 SE-R Spec-V for me. Yours has all the improvements I wish mine had.

Sounds fun?

Hilarious.

I tried to make our old Subaru Outback XT, but I couldn't get the game to turn the check engine light on every couple of thousand miles and make the noise of a turbo shredding itself apart.

Now my wife's crying about the new Altimas...and about the Ford Fusions because they look like Astons. It'd be nice to pay off the first car before she starts pining for another.

Well I think the wikipedia definition sounds good enough for me, but it needs Vol's approval since he picked the car spec. Vol, what do you think?

How about, "if you have to ask, it's probably not a coupe."

So the alfa and eclipse spiders fall off And get disq based on the hardtop requirement correct?

This whole coupe is such a grey area... I usually dont think of the integras and preludes as coupes... But they fit the criteria.. So does the vw bug rsi and cup!... And Scirocco.. But that one may be premium?

Let's make is less grey; if it has a fixed roof and two doors on the side, it's a coupe.

Yes, two-doors, so two or 2+2 seating. I'm okay with the fixed roof idea. I don't want the hatchbacks. I thought about just doing hot hatches, cause they are fun, but then I saw the Integras and the Celicas and the cars in between and thought, let's just do FF sports cars.

So...
  • 385 PP
  • FF
  • 2 or 3 Door
  • hardtop
  • 2 or 2+2 seating
  • Distinct rear lid behind the door (no hatchbacks)

And yes, there are people that count the Integra as a hot hatch. I don't. It is a three-door coupé.

I am still looking for something to drive myself. I have a car, but it isn't my favorite.

p.s. Would everyone have an easier time if we raised the PP limit a little bit? I was basing it off of MGT.net, but that seems to be off. I still have something at 385, but I have more at 390 or 395.

Ok, there you go folks. These are the official requirements we'll go by. No more grey are, either it fits the requiremens laid out by the combo, or it doesn't

Woot, on my other account, I have a few, woot. Now just to pick one.

And I think I may have included an Alfa 156 in the list before. I'm still not sure if it is a 2 or 4-door. I've never seen one for real, and I can't tell from the pic.

I think people were making this more difficult than it is.

Oy. Why would it be out? It's practically the definition by which Vol chose this requirement.

There are actually a lot more cars in game that fit the bill than I mentioned before from mygranturismo. If I make it tonight I'm looking forward to this. :)

I should be able to turn up for round 1....but then GT Academy comes on the TV at 8:30 so I might bail before round 2 to watch that, lol

There's the next question: are concepts allowed when not explicitly stated?
