There's the next question: are concepts allowed when not explicitly stated?

In my view tuner cars and concepts fall in the category... But concepts have been constantly ran before.....

I tend to agree with you, Wolf, but I'm wondering what Racefan's take is.

I definately don't have a problem with concepts. I don't think we've ever had a problem with someone in a concept dominating unless there was foul play involved with illegal limiting. I've already stated that I consider street-going tuner cars to be street cars, but there are definately valid arguments on both sides for that one.

Unless we create a designated class for tuner cars only, or concept cars only, I don't see any reason to seperate a street legal tuner or concept from other street legal cars.

Having connection issues. I'm tired anyway so I think I might just pass on racing tonight. Good luck guys.

OFFICIAL RESULTS: WEEK 10

Another night of close and competitive racing! This is what SCT is all about!

1. racefan78...............90
2. Wolfsatz.................84
3. dabneyd.................81
4. Vol_Jbolaz...............79
5. ChuthuluGoat...........57
6. tezgm99..................43
7. drrgreenthumb..........43
8. apmaddock..............32

Round 2 recieved the most votes. So I get to pick a new combo to replace it (Happy birthday to me ).

Round 3 had the second most, so Wolfsatz gets to pick a new track or car spec for round 3.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and raced!

IMPORTANT RULE UPDATE

From this point forward, the 10% limiting rule will be applied AFTER an oil change. No more driving around with the oil light on, as this has been abused to get cars in that should not fit a given round.

Thank You

IMPORTANT RULE UPDATE

From this point forward, the 10% limiting rule will be measured from a cars MAXIMUM PP. That is, after an oil change, engine rebuild, and break in if necessary. This is the only fair way to make sure no unfair cars slip in under the radar, since dealership PP can vary so widely in the UCD.

Thank You

The engine rebuild rule will be unenforceable. The only one you can see without sharing and borrowing the car would be oil changes.

crap, didn't think of that. ok, revising the post now

Not entirely.

If I have a car that has been rebuilt and it does not fit into 10%, yours of the same make and model shouldn't either.

Of course, there are exceptions to this, as well. Namely, high mileage cars, but for the most part those should be right at the borderline, anyway.

Of course, you could put a million miles on a car (theoretically) and jam it into a race that it has no right being in because the horsepower for that car has dropped so far due to it having a worn-in engine.

Sigh

Yeah. Better to not worry about the engine rebuild, or better yet, work on the honor system and shun those who can't or won't follow the rules.

I wish we could trust this to the honor system, but certain people have shown time and again they are willing to bend the rules in whatever way possible to gain an advantage, and thats no fun for anyone. I want to mke sure there are clear rules to follow so those people don't have a case for whining when we bust them.

Another idea is to say, "If you win by X, then you must retire that car." That would not only help keep out cars that probably shouldn't be there, but if the majority of people pick a certain type of car, and one person picks a car that fits but is still notably faster, it would bring everyone in closer.

Just an idea, not the best, I admit.

Ok, and my pick is 500 PP Rally Cars at Twin Ring Motegi Superspeedway!

Racefan,
I like your combo. I was thinking of doing these type of cars around Spa... 👍

Just noting, but didn't we race the 480PP cars around Autumn Ring? I made the 440PP selection based on Autumn Ring. Not that I care much since I like Monaco as well.... or I'm just confused by this...

"Round 3 had the second most, so Wolfsatz gets to pick a new track or car spec for Round 2."

Scoped out some cars for the two new combos....will stick with the FTO fwd at GVS though most likely.

Edit: actually, I will aim to use a different car than the FTO as well, make things totally different than last week :)

Who's ready to race tonight?

....just waiting and rushing the kids to get to bed to fire up the engines!

This week's line up is exciting and enticing! 👍

....hopefully Dragons BD D1 party doesn't affect turn out today.

I've had a little practice for the fwd and 440 rwd rounds but nothing with any rally cars on the oval, I've just picked a couple cars for it :nervous:

Hey Guys. It was nice to finally make it to SCT even if it was only for 2 races. It was fun even if my choice of car (and driving) left me at the back of the pack.

I do have one question/observation. Why do you limit the drivetrain? The reason I ask is that it seems like there will be one or two cars that will be superior for a drivetrain choice. Why not allow any drivetrain thus allowing people to pick the best car for their choice of drivetrain. It might allow for a bit more close competition. Just a thought.

Hopefully I will make it to the next SCT event better prepared.

Mainly because the MR's are most likely to beat both the FR and FF's. At least in my experience. Plus, it makes choosing a car a little easier. That said, someone could choose to leave the drivetrain choice open, if they wanted.
