I can't believe that nobody liked my combo. How much horsepower do you people need? Really the little cars were chosen just for the sake of fitting the track. I like the idea of a car that goes with the track, like big horsepower cars on a weird figure 8.

Older cars just aren't my thing. There's something to be said for modern suspension setups, tire widths, and chassis construction.

As opposed to the rubber bands and paper clips holding the Skyline together? She had a little body roll...

Was your combo the older Japanese?

Not much fan of the older Japanese cars, but the Cosmo is great, messed up the 2nd race by rear ending Weaver and taking a mow the lawn detour, bit for less than 120 HP, the car is fast! Handles a hundred times better than the French Peagot from last week.

Well, I won't have that said; the 4200R Concept is one of my fav cars in the entire game :)

I forgot about that. I don't know if it's one of my favorites but it does sound pretty nasty. My thinking has always been ticky Isuzu Rodeos and rebadged GMCs.

Results: 1/3/13

1. dabneyd........................90
2. Apmaddock....................81
3. weaver-2009_................74
4. ChuthuluGoat.................60
5. racefan78......................59
6. Wolfsatz........................51
7. drrgreenthumb................44
8. GTP_Dylansan.................43
9. Luv2Coach.....................12

Round 1 recieved the most votes. So dabneyd gets to pick a new combo to replace it.

Rounds 3 had second most, so Appmaddock gets to pick either a new track or a new car spec for that round

Thanks to everyone who showed up and raced!

I should be able to show for this event starting next week. The misses picked up an evening course for the next 8 weeks so the TV is available!

Sweet! I hope you're feeling better so you're competitive! ;)

Awesome, I was thinking about you and hoping things were going well 👍

Can't miss this week!

Forgive my forgetfulness, but is the addition of ballast considered tuning? (Not joining an online lobby outside of Cat and Mouse in 5 months and I can't seem to remember)

A Cyborg is always competitive. It's hardwired!

It does. Engine limiting and brake balance only.

How does this sound to everyone? 390 PP, FF or FR, engine must be <2L.

sounds good to me. what track though?

Sorry, Grand Valley East Reverse.

Can you enlighten me as to what cars fit the <2L?

I imagine fast hatchbacks and some Fiats????

There's plenty. Just open the car up in your garage, and look at the engine displacement. Anything less than 2000cc's fits.

The problem with this is that you have to do it ahead of time. Stupid PD doesn't let you see a car's info when you're picking it online.

Anyway, for my pick:

I had been planning to change the track and not the car, but I worry that would make one or two cars particularly dominant. I think the tight turns and odd layout at Top Gear made that one closer than the cars would have elsewhere.

So, let's keep the track and go with something more fitting:

UK Cars. 500PP

Dust off your TVRs, Lotuses and Jags.

You don't pick your cars beforehand? You should change the oil...

I don't pick cars beforehand. I also very rarely practice for Sundays, etc. It's a wonder that I have the cars broken in on time.

I do, however, perform an engine overhaul and chassis restoration to every car that I get from the UCD immediately after I get it, or change the oil on every OCD or gift car.

The preceding explains why some people can drive higher PP cars than I can and still stay under the limiting limit.

Yeah. Sadly we can only enforce oil changes by way of looking for the oil light in the replay. Racefan could put in the rules that an engine rebuild is required (if possible) and not just oil changes.

He could, but it still wouldn't get rid of all of the little inconsistencies…

Cars with a lot of miles permanently lose horsepower. A "better" car might sit right out of the PP limit if it's in good shape. Give it 100,000 miles, though, and dude might be able to use it.

Also, prize cars benefit from break-in (I believe). So one dude with a prize car with 0 miles may be able to use his, while mine from the UCD with a overhaul won't work.

The same is true of "new" cars without an oil change. They won't show as having old oil, but an oil change would improve their power.

Or a car a few hundred miles after an oil change. They'll start to slowly lose power before the light comes on.

There's no way that a standard car in "perfect" condition could be mandated, so we're just forced to roll with what we can.

…there are still a few fools who don't understand what the S in "SCT" stands for, though…

We should exclude the Elise because I don't like it and my opinion matters.

At least that's what the government tells me....

Don't drive it or look at it. Problem solved!

P.S., I won't be driving one either. Especially at TGTT; that 111R event still haunts me.

If you know TGTT short cuts you could pass 12 formula cars with a 111R. :D

I eventually beat it the correct way, but had to dive bomb the AI on Gambons just to finish first.

Methinks most, if not all Eliseses are under 500PP. The Esprits are up there, though.
