Rounds 1 and 3 tied in the votind, since kcheeb got 3rd he gets to pick which combo is voted off and which one is only half voted off.

Once he does that, dabneyd will pick a new combo to replace which ever one kcheeb chooses, and albtifosi will pick a new track or car spec for the other one.

I'll take door 1 Monty :)

dabneyd and albtifosi, you're up now

Thanks cheeb!

Alright, you guys heard the man. dabneyd's picking for round 1, albtifosi's picking for round 3

Here's my choice, 60's or 70's Japanese FR Street Cars @ 380PP on Circuito de Madrid Mini.

Nice!

Better watch it or Vol will be racing with us soon :)

Well I still want to race those cars but you guys were not happy with the circuit. Can I get some suggestions as to which ones you guys would prefer?

Anything that's not a city course would be fine by me. Perhaps one of the Nurburgring GP courses?

If I can get my daughters Halloween costume for school finished early enough I hope to make a few of the races tonight. The wife is out of town so I get to stay up a little bit later with no one complaining. :-)

Sigh... My daughter's hopes for my sewing expertise in making her a fairy bustle / custom skirt are undoubtedly dashed.

(do not be surprised...)

Now... We're in MY House!

Onward with dowels, duct tape, some fabric-y schtuff she likes the tint of, some safety pins, and more duct tape!

No racing for me - but, believe me you, I would far rather be running Dead Flipping Last, than this.

On second thought...

Well... maybe.... hrm...

Combos for week 7: (10/25/12)

380 PP FR 60's or 70's Japanese Street Cars (Sports Hard)
Curcuito de Madrid Mini, TBD laps

410 PP FR Street Cars (Sports Hard)
Suzuka Curcuit, 4 laps

455 PP 4WD Street Cars (Sports Medium)
Nurburgring GP/F, TBD Laps

I keep wanting to make this, but... I'm always so confused by the car choices.

So... I can bring an old Fairlady for the first round. They top out at 370 PP. And the one I would prefer tops out at 357.

For the second round, I look at MyGranTurismo.net and I see that the Sileighty would fit, but it is going to get trounced by any S2000 (and possibly by the bigger Nissans). I might have a standard S2000, so that is something.

In the third round, 455 is too high for the 22B, which is lots of fun. I there are some other Impreza and Lan Evos, but I think I might have an R34. So... I do think I will have a car for that.

Well, I guess I can make two out of three rounds.

p.s. Okay, I'm just not understanding the rules for this. There are no cars that fit the first round. http://www.mygranturismo.net/carlist.php?order=pp_ini&drive=FR&quality=S&max_year=1979&country=Japan

Power limiter is allowed in moderation, correct?

Huh? I have three cars that fit for the first round, but I realized tonight that I should have picked a lower PP.

Cheeb drove the Sileighty last week and was competitive. Oh, btw, you can limit your car up to 10%

Maybe MyGT.net is just off. But there are no pre-1980 FR JDMs that are over 380 PP that I can limit down.

And even in the other two rounds, there are cars that I think would be fun if I could replace intake/exhaust. Well, in all three rounds. So, I'm just confused.

I'm using the Nissan 240Z, have it limited by about 4 or 5 pp if I remember correctly.

Yeah, the 240ZG will fit. I also have the Fairlady 2000 and the Skyline HT 2000GT-R which are 1 and 2 PP short respectively.

Okay, MyGT.net is off, but not by enough.

It lists the 240Z at 370 PP. Broken in, the car is, apparently, 378 PP. So, it is two PP shy. I don't own anything that is over 380 and pre-1980. I do have an '81, though. So, yeah, I think I'm just not getting it.

Is the intention that everyone is going to be under 380? If so, won't everyone just run the same car, with the exception of a few people who've been able to do enough testing to find the car that performs above its listed PP?

Vol, there's no rule that you have to use the power limiter. If you're car is two pp shy then you should be fine. Although there's hardly anyone here so you're garunteed a decent finish, lol. Hurry in everyone!

It is 10% of the AFTER oil change HP (HP - NOT the PP... From reading the early/relevant posts) that folks can downsize/limit, right?

Wish I could'a made it.

Hope it went well.
