AMG - Hey great win ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ Knew you would get there in the end . I'm impressed with your move on lap 20. :) :)

AMG, amazing work there. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ You went through alot of lineups..

Something I dont want to repeat. Gave me a bit of headache. I have some more happy news.
==============================================

Sarthe 1000 miles obliterated

PAL (#10) Elan (does not pit), Marcos (p 15/30), GSS (p17), Ginetta(p24-26), Bellet (p19).

1st attempt and I lost to the Elan by 17.xx secs.
Restarted and qualified.

I blocked the Ginetta (a wonderful towtruck) on Mulsanne straight and then let him pass me at the 2nd chicane to catch a long draft. Caught a draft after T4 and for a bit after T5 (the longish straight) leading up to T6. Repeated this process for 7 laps and then he disappeared. By lap 11 Ive got a healthy lead and thank you GSS for holding up the Elan.
On my first attempt I pitted on lap 17. (Mistake :ouch:)

This time I stayed out till lap 29 (arbitrary choice) and as you can see not a lot of NOS used. Switched to N3/3. I blew 2 units for fun after I exited the pit. Still had a healthy lead of 45 secs on the Elan. Over the next 6 laps I managed to increase that to approx 1m 20 secs. But due to having my finger on the camera to take the pics I messed up the last section a bit so the MoV is around 1m17s or so.
The N1s last the entire race, Im sure but alas the gas tank only hold 80 units, 90 would've been nice.

So the easiest 200 point race I have ever won (despite doing it twice)

BLRA 12k miles old oil. N1/2 108bhp on toolkit screen.
20 ballast.
Tranny trick final 4.072 auto 1.
Top speed 116 mph.
All non power mods and tweaked the suspension, lowered to 106 and firmed up the first settings to 10/10.
3 units of NOS.

AMG.

Edit: 1000 miles all done.

British GT Series for 200 points @ Infineon

Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '03
Lotus Esprit Sport 350 '00
Jaguar XJ220 '92
TVR Tamora '02
TVR T350C '03

Car Stats : 348bhp ( parts screen ), SM tyres, NOS @ 30. Gears - Auto set to 13, All non power upgrades.

Happy racing,

Schwarzwald Liga B

Used BMW M Coupe with Nos (55), Chip and Non power upgrades. 299BHP at settings screen. Ballast as necessary depending on lineup. Thats 5 more races done.

I took a brand new bone stock BMW 3 series to the Schwartzwald Liga A races, and won all three with ease, though the game counted it as 150 points for each. I bet with engine wear, you can get it up to 200.

What tyres were you using? Putting on inferior tyres will do the job also.

The car was fresh out off the dealer lot, it had everything stock. So that means that it has medium sports tires. Tomorrow, I will try the race again with road tires, and see how much it boosts the score.

Remember to use ballast as well. That should give you the best possible tyre selection.

for the Schwartzwald Liga A races i used the lupo 1.4 from the bronze b licences. no oil semi race exhaust, race chip, nos and full suspension race with s2 tyres. bhp was at 109 and you cannot have the golf in the line up. must qualify in first, use race tyres to do this. this will n et 200 points with a full fight on your hands on the ring. all 5 races my mov was about 5 sec's.

this was my first ever attempt at 200 pointers.

Are you sure you're talking about Schwartzwald Liga A?

A couple of reasons I'm curious.
1) You can't qualify for single race events such as Schwartzwald Liga A.
2) There are only 3 races in Schwartzwald Liga A.

Are you possibly talking about Lupo Cup in Manufacturers events?
Or maybe Euro Hot Hatch League? ;)

my deepest apologies it was the lupo cup, and i could at the moment only get 145 for these (could not quite do it with s2 had to use r3 to catch on corners cause top speed was not there). but i did do the schwartz a in the lupo for 200 points and i know it was hard work.

Was giving 1000! miles in EU another try for 200 pts.
Already claimed 132 previously.

Found a nice even lineup for Azur.
Isuzu Coupe (858)
Alfa Duetto (844)
VW Karmann (681)
Honda S800 (758)
Alfa GSS (851)
Me in Nissan BLRA + 9000 mls, old oil (85 hp + 40 ballast) for 200, start on N1.

I decided to give this a go, but with only 200 miles on my BLRA-3 there was a maximum of 191 A-spec on offer. So for a practise session I upped the power a bit, and removed the ballast resulting in 165 A-spec for all races.

Starting on N1's a bit of blocking was needed at the start, but after the first round of stops where I switched to N3's I was able to pull away quite easily. Lap times improved by 25s @ the 'Ring, 5s @ Paris & Azur, and 9s @ Sarthe. With no real Rabbit or Snail in this lineup, and the way I pulled away on the stickier rubber there should be no trouble going the whole 1000miles against this lineup for 200 points when I've worn my car out.

I then decided to tackle the Euro Classics.

European Classic Car League
Nurb - Beetle (see post 33)
Fuji 80 - GSS N3 195ballast, lineup (pal) AR Guila SprtGTA1600,GinettaG4,Etype,300SL, ARGuilia Sprint Spec
Opera - GSS N3 200 ballast lineup 13 (pal) GinettaG4, E Type, AR Guila Sprt GTA, SL300, ARGuilia Sprint Spec
Suzuka - GSS N3 200 ballast lineup 13 (pal) GinettaG4, E Type, AR Guila Sprt GTA, SL300, ARGuilia Sprint Spec
Deep Forest - GSS N3 200 ballast lineup 13 (pal) GinettaG4, E Type, AR Guila Sprt GTA, SL300, ARGuilia Sprint Spec

European Classic Car League - Nurburgring

I took the prize car from the 1000miles, an unused Alfa GSS and added N3's, Triple clutch & Nos. I found that only 190 Ballast weight was needed to secure 200 A-spec points against the favoured lineup above - Ginetta G4, E-Type, MB 300SL, Alfa GTA, Alfa GSS. The four shorter races were easy enough as Nitrous rationing wasn't necessary even in qualifying, but the 'Ring was another story.

Even qualifying was difficult as I did it in race trim - what good are practise laps if your car is going to handle differently on race day? Anyway, as we all know the 'Ring is a very long track, and a bottle of nitrous doesn't last that long. In the end I was unable to hold off both the E-Type and MB 300SL for an out lap and one hot lap, but I did manage to qualify between them in second place.

The race began desperately dirty as I tried to take the lead from opponents with twice my power/weight ratio. Finally I got in front at the bottom of the long uphill straight, but retaining the lead was difficult, and I still had to resort to dirty tactics on occasion. However a half bottle of nitrous and a shortcut at the end of the lap allowed me to take it home in front - with some 3 seconds to spare.

As I didn't mention tyres before, I'd guess I used the tyres that came with the car when I bought it. Sorry I cannot be any more specific, but it was 3 1/2 months ago.

That's allright. Thanks for the response. I'm planning to start Schwarzwald Liga B tonight and was trying to save time. But I will figure it out.

1. update:
I had to go on S1 for Tokyo R246 to get 200 points and it took me a couple of tries to win there. Fuji Speedway and High Speed Ring B were easy wins for 200 points on S2. 600 points in the bank. Tonight I tackle Suzuka and the Ring. :nervous:

2. update:
I got 200 out of Suzuka without a problem. On the Ring I won a 141 point race, but couldn't win a 179 point race. I was in the lead at the beginning of the long straight but couldn't keep two cars behind me :ouch:. At the end I came in third 1.5 seconds behind the winner. :dunce:
For now I move on to the German Touring Car Championship with my new car. But I'll be back. :)

NTSC/USA /1000 miles / 200 pts. (800 pts. total Championship Series)
Having done this series about a year ago originally for 200, I had always thought there were probably some doable alternate cars and/or lineups that could be flushed out from additional experimentation trials.
With my quest for max pts now complete, I had some time to go back and pursue this.
These are my findings thus far:

62 Skyline coupe (BRLA)/150hp/63 ballast
Lineup: (about 20-30 guesstimate NAver)
Jaguar E type 61
Corvette coupe 63
Mercedes 300 SL 54
Lotus Elan S1 62
Isuzu 117 coupe 68

54 Corvette convertible (C1)/152hp/15 ballast
lineup: (about 20-30 guesstimate NAver)
Jaguar E type 61
Corvette coupe (C2) 63
Mercedes 300 SL coupe 54
Ginetta G4 64
Alfa Romeo spider 1600 duetto 66

The 62 Skyline is of course, well known in this series and of the two cars a little better with six gears as opposed to the 5 speed 54 Corvette. At the Nurb, Opera, and azure this is not much of a facture, however at Le Sarthe it is a more significant handicap. Handling on N1s is about the same, with a slight edge to the Skyline. Both cars are equally stable and one, as good as the other at blocking and shoving. Likewise tire wear is almost identical.

Having run this series with many cars and lineups, I found these two cars and lineups to be (I wouldn't say EASEY) as doable as any other, with one exception. As mentioned already, the 54 Corvette at Le Sarthe was slower adding significantly to the difficulty of that race.
Otherwise the Jag and the 63 vette didn't seem to be any harder to block and ram than any of the others I've done. Another plus is you run faster and the race is over sooner.

If you would like to complete this series for 200 ea. and use a car other than the 62 Skyline, the 54 Corvette is the most comparable alternative I have found so far.

Edit: I recently came across this in one my many games replay theater. I had forgot about it since over time, I have run this series numerous times against many lineups with practically every enterable car in the game. It's postworthyness is due to the fact that, to date, it is the most on par with using the 62 Skyline that I have tried and completed.
I found it to be very much on the same difficulty level.
Due to the fact it was done some time ago I'm sorry I don't have more details.

Honda S 800 66 used, old oil, all upgades, adjust HP and ballast for 200 points
Line up:
(white) Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint GTA 1600 65
(blue) Mini Marcos GT 70
(gold) Isuzu Bellet 1600 GT-R 69
(red) Honda S 800 66
(silver) Toyota Sports 800 65

One additonal note on this series.
I'm not sure if this has been posted on or discussed to any degree before, but I have been curious about it for sometime. In this series as with some others in the game, the offered lineups will change. I have had this happen under all the following scenarios:

1. When changing cars (this seems reasonable since different lineups may need to change to match up appropriately)

2. With the passage of days or weeks (since you are executing things to progress the days or weeks it is hard to determine which is affecting the change)

3. Upon once starting the race and exiting or finishing the race and exiting then returning to re enter. This can occur even after resetting the game. (don't have a clue on this one other than in some cases I have found upon initial entry into some races you will be presented with the easiest lineup and pace. Afterwards you will not get it again.)

4. After entering(not starting) and leaving to add performance upgrades to the car and returning to re enter the race. (this may trigger something similar to #1)

It appears somewhat unpredictable for the most part, but then again I've never tried to figure it out.

Italian Festival - La Festa Italia

maybe I'm blind, but I couldn't find a car recommendation for the Italian Festival in here. Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance.

hello,

i'm use a Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA (65) (122hp): Exaust 1 + Chip + NOS(70) + Gearbox(4) + Tyres S3

easy to win with :
3" at Autumn Ring
7" at Cote d'Azur
8" at Infineon

Here's a snippet from my notes on the La Festa Italianno:

At Monte Carlo, using an upgraded Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 I got 200 A-Spec with 196KG Ballast versus grid of:

Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V ’04, Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus ’00, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione ’91, Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 24V ’01, Alfa Romeo Spider 3.0I V6 24V ’01.

My Giulia was running 158HP (Racing Exhaust, Chip & Stage 1 NA Tune) on S2 tyres, with suspension and transmission upgrades.

Dropping the Exhaust to Semi-Race got me 200 A-Spec at Infineon versus grid of:

Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 24V ’01, Alfa Romeo 147 GTA ’02, Alfa Romeo 166 2.5 V6 24V ’98, Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V ’04, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione ‘91

Note the GTV was awful at driving here, even tho’ it was much faster than me in terms of straight-line speed, the AI just couldn’t keep it on the track.

Switching back to Racing Exhaust and altering weight balance from –20 to –17 got me 200 A-Spec at Autumn Ring versus:

Alfa Romeo 147 GTA ’02, Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 24V ’01, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione ’91, Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 24V ’98, Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6 24V ’01

Euro Classics Nurb 200 points.

Volkswagen Karmen Gia.
PAL lineup 6. GSS, Elan, GTA, Ginetta & Duetto.
Qualified with Turbo 95 hp and Sports Medium tires and blocked the three fast cars so they start behind the Ginetta and Duetta. I qualified first.

Race set up : 75 HP (NA2, race exhaust, and chip) N2/N3 full NOS and all the usual nonpower upgrades. 120 Ballast.
Winning Margin about 4 seconds. Had to block at several places and had enough NOS left to blast away on the long final straight.

This is where I am stuck now...

Well done Uncle Harry!

None of the classics are easy races. But they are doable and infinitely more satisfying ๐Ÿ‘ than flogging e.g. the Saleen around on N1s and bashing the hell out of the AI for 200pts ๐Ÿ‘Ž. Classics is still racing (and blocking). The other stuff is crap and its the 2nd reason I wont finish this for max.
The other is still a lack of skillz.

MacTarmac, hang in there, I'm rooting for you guys. :)

AMG.

Thanks AMG and Mac Tarmac.

When I get some time I will go after the 1000 miles events for 200 points.
Looks like I have to get myself an old Skyline!

European Hall : Schwarzwald Liga A : Trial Mountain
Car : Volkswagen Beetle 1100 Standard (Type-11) '49 / RR / 78HP / 720kg / 9.2kg/HP / 200 A-spec points!

Changed oil, fitted Racing exhaust, Chip, Stage 1 Turbo and Full custom transmission (Autoset to 9), no driving aids.

vs. 2nd lineup after reset, has Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro '03 on pole.

Super-fun race and possible to win cleanly, makes for a great replay seeing the 60 year old "Bug" keeping up with some of Germany's finest modern rides!! :lol:๐Ÿ‘

Was giving 1000! miles in EU another try for 200 pts.

With 7600 miles on the BLRA-3 I decided to have another go, and with N1/N3's and 42 ballast a full 200 points were on offer this time. Using my notes from last time I was even able to come up with strategies to make the best use of the tyres (or so I thought). Paris and Azur were easy enough, both being won with a lap in hand, but the longer tracks were nail biters.

Nurburgring started well, I qualified in first and a bit of blocking saw me retain the lead until I pitted for N3's after just 5 laps. I quickly got back to second place when I rejoined, but one car, I think it was the Honda kept ahead and built up over a minute of lead by the time I exited my second stop. Things didn't look good. Here I was on a 4 stop strategy, and a minute behind a car that had yet to stop!
Luckily it soon transpired that the lack of stopping was not by design, as the lead car began losing vast amounts of time. It would get stuck at the pit entrance for some 30 seconds each lap, and kept falling off the road in other areas. Eventually he did make it into the pits, but not before he had fallen from first to last place and I had lapped him. The rest of the pack finished just a minute or two behind me.

Sarthe also started well. Again I led the pack from the start, and some blocking bashing and drafting saw me cross the start/finish line first on 14 of the first 16 laps. A good run through the esses meant I had a 2 second lead when the Alfa GSS and Isuzu pitted at the end of lap 17. With the race now being at half distance I could have pitted at the end of then next lap for another set of N1's, but as my tyres were barely green I chose to go on.
My notes suggested that my N1's would last around 30 laps - not quite enough to finish the race, and a set of N3's would last just 12 laps, but gain me about 9 seconds per lap. I therefore chose to go on to the end of lap 23 before changing to N3's all round. By this time the Alfa and Isuzu were just 10 second behind, but I was sure I could reel them in.
I exited the pits some 25 seconds behind, lost some time on the straight, and gained some in the twisties, but seven laps later and I had gained no real ground! I could only hope that the two cars in front would have to pit again, and luckily they did just that at the start of the last lap. A slow stop, and a lap on cold tyres allowed me to take the win by about 20 seconds.

It was only now that I realised the error in my notes. They had been taken when I ran the car with fresh oil, racing exhaust and chip, and with no ballast weight. Little wonder I couldn't match the laptimes from before, and the reduced power meant less loss of traction, and thus better tyre life. The N3's that I thought would last just 12 laps had barely gone yellow by the end of the race, so the N1's may have managed the whole race, and I could probably have done the 'ring as a 3 stopper instead of a 4 stopper. doh!

So thats a couple more 200 pointers done. Maybe I'll be taking another screenshot before the end of the year...

European Classic Car Championship

VW Karmann Ghia with S3, 48HP and balast against NA lineup #6
Ginetta G4 '64
Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 '65
Giulia Speciale '63
Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66
(not sure about the order of the cars since I wrote it down after the last race)

I could win 200 points in all races except Nuerburgring, but I'm sure that's possible too. :)

I qualified and used NOS (setting 100).
