i have noticed with all the 1000 miles entries using the skyline, that when people pit they stick to the 'N' type tyre and not going to the sports tyre. would this be because you get better life from the 'N' type thefore not needing to pit as much, or does the car turn in-to a bit af a dog on sports.?

i am about to start my 1000 mile quest as was wondering if 'N' type tyres we actually better than sports tyres.

The BLRA is the only car I am happy to stick N tyres on be it N1-N3. I absolutely loath these tyres on any other car. The fronts IIRC go "fairly quickly" and, but its been a while, you need N tyres to get to 200pts.
Even if you would be able to get 200pts on S tyres (which I doubt very much) you'd lose because of pit strategy and the fact that the car is too slow to catch up with the rest. You'll be blocking a lot for the first part of the races unless you have magic skills. I don't so I barely scraped by.

Beware of the lotus elan, it seems to have magic tyres, they don't (seem to) wear. But I'm pretty sure you've read the relevant posts.

i mean start the race with 'n' tyres to get the 200 points and then during your standard pit stop changing to 'sports' tyres

If you change tyre type during a pit stop say from N1 tyres to S tyres you will infact remain with N type tyres although it may appear that you have put on Sports. Hope that makes sense - It's late and I need to go to bed!!

Whoa OA, I thought you were aware of the above glitch. It has been mentioned several times but perhaps not in this area of GTP. Me thinks I need to edit my #2 posts to include this info.

i had heard of people changing tyres before but did not know it had no effect. damn, will just have to try harder and concentrate more on holding back those pesky ai cars.

thanks for setting me on the straight. :)

Me in Nissan BLRA + 9000 mls, old oil (85 hp + 40 ballast) for 200, start on N1.
With 7600 miles on the BLRA-3 I decided to have another go, and with N1/N3's and 42 ballast a full 200 points were on offer this time. Using my notes from last time I was even able to come up with strategies to make the best use of the tyres (or so I thought). Paris and Azur were easy enough, both being won with a lap in hand, but the longer tracks were nail biters....

a question for you guys, when abouts is this line up, i am using pal version and (maybe i missed it) but looked through about 50 line-ups trying to find it. i got sick of looking and then started Fuji 1000km (to get that out of the way). will be going back to 1000 miles soon.

I used lineup #4.

But I'm sure you read my findings when I tried to find linup #11 that nige used in IIRC Nurb 1000. I couldnt find it and eventually settled on #101. I searched till #111 and never found "theirs".

lineup4 Izuzu(pits on 28)
Duetto
karmann(25)
S800
GSS(29 of 27)
Used N1 till lap 28 followed by N3 till 53 and 77

Just checked the thread again

Good luck with the races.

Took me a weekend but I finally got through the 1000 miles series and got rewarded with 800 shiny a-spec points :)
I tried many different cars and setups here but I found the ´62 Skyline to be the best for the job. The car has fantastic handling even on N1 tyres.

Here is my info:

I went against the first lineup:
Karmann Khia
Fiat 500
Honda S800
Alfa GTA 1600
Mini Marcos
Nissan Skyline (BLRA-3)

Setup:
100hp (no oil change, semi exhaust, race chip, dt/susp upgrades)
200ballast
N1/N2..

the only difference i used NA1 instead of Racing Chip (dont know why but i did)

currently trying this with 1000 miles championship. First race Nurby) i am at the moment 19seconds behind the marcos on lap 17/25. the alfa is approx 5 sec behind and catching. i had to pit start lap 15 because the tires were real bad and have changed to n3/n3. i just hope these tires will make the next ten laps. i think the marcos needs to pit L18 & L24 and the alfa pits L24 :nervous: i think so.

i will update progress tomorrow. (cause i am at W*** now. (*** are because i do not want to swear with that filty four letter word :sly:))

edit:

🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬 :banghead:  :ouch:

i fluffed up on lap 18 came in with the marcos and thought my rears were ok and changed front only. two laps later rears were stuffed. controller went flying and the re-set switch got pressed.

decided to try som FGT races in a Mazda 787 Black instead. Will one day get back to 1000 Miles.

1000 miles! at Opera Paris for 200 points

I know this has been done before but as it's my first 200 in the 1000 miles! I'll post it anyway.

Car : Nissan BLRA Sports Coupe '62 versus :
( Start position / Finish position )

1 VW Karmann Ghia 3
2 Fiat 500F '65 6
3 Honda S800 4
4 Alfa Guilia Sprint GTA 1600'65 2
5 Mini Marcos 5
6 Nissan BLRA Sports Coupe '62 ( me ) 1

Car Stats : All non power upgrades, NOS, tranny set to 4, Ballast @50. N1/N3 tyres changing to N2/N3 at first pit stop.

Pit Stops : 42, 68

MOV : 1 lap and a bit

This race turned out to be really quite easy. For the first few laps it's a case of not letting the GTA past then after the pit stop on lap 42 it's plain sailing. The GTA quite often gets stuck behind much slower cars and that helps alot. Quite a relief after a couple of frustating days at the Nurburgring!

Edit :

nige

That one day has come.

Cote d' Azure completed :D for 200 points using nige's information (cheers dude 👍)
Nissan BLR-A '62 with 94BHP and 35 ballast.

Had to block the alfa (always up hill after the first corner, then not really the rest of the lap) untill his first pit stop. Then the only time I saw him again was when i was about to lap him on the last lap. MOV 2 min's and 10 seconds.

Edit: 17th june, Ran Opera, with the same up as Azure. I have been handed the easiest race in 1000 miles for 200 points that i can think of. The alfa was caught behind the VW Karmann Khia untill two laps before the VW pitted. Before the alfa pitted i had a lead of 20 seconds or so. MOV 2 laps on the alfa. now its on to the other two. (If only, Nurb and Sarthe, could be like this)

Sarthe can be easy, see my post somewhere in this thread and for Nurb I will be thinking of you.
You may well be the next one who makes it to the other list 👍

AMG - I have done some serious searching and printing of all information listed on 1000 miles events. (Including your post #63) Sarthe may well be the next on my list of events. I also found some interesting tips on Nurb where the competitors are the Ginetta and the Marcos with about 108bhp (I may give that a go)

As for the other list (i don't know) as I still have to do that darn MX5 enduro. I am just not that good at blocking for 3-4 hours straight, although i am getting better.

By the way, which races are you missing for max, as I see you are still on 111,320?. Maybe I could return the favour of many tips, as the one's provided by yourself have been invaluable. :)

From the top of my head (not at home at the moment)
the MX5 four hour race, several one make races (Saleen etc)
I havent played GT4 career mode since I got in to weekly GT4-LAN racing with 5 others. (We race in a garage of one of the members). We switched to GT5P when we found we could run 6 PS3s on 1 internet connection.
I doubt I'll ever fire up the PS2 again to see if I have better luck.
I did try a few 1MR races a few months back but same result => no improvement.
Its funny how these goals become less important over time.

Still have an active interest in this subforum though :)

Edit: see [post=2672700]this post.[/post]
I managed a few more points in the FGT races than listed above.

FGT (I did all of these in the mazda 787b, I find easier to control than the FGT)
3. NY 139/200 (ride the wall start of quick left right left before top straight, and if you can big loop before start straight)
5. GVS 120/200 (chicane grass cut near start finish)

That list looks strangely similar to mine.

Copen (Motorland/AR mini) 145/166
Suzuki Concept (Tsukuba) 152/200
Suzuki K(All) 170/200
Hyundai (All) 125/176
Megane (All) 144/169
VW GTi (All) 170-188/200
Roadster Enduro 175/200

Those FF 1MRs are understeer (and wheelspin) city, while the enduro is just dull and favours the 1.8s. Luckily I am very happy with my stats, and intend to leave them as they are.

These are definately some tough racing, However, of what you have listed, the Megane and VW GTi should be the easiest there to complete. But if your happy, then I am happy.

Sarthe 1000 miles obliterated

PAL (#10) Elan (does not pit), Marcos (p 15/30), GSS (p17), Ginetta(p24-26), Bellet (p19).................

I could not find this line up. I have PAL version.
I have seen you post before that you have a different version of PAL to nige and HanTheDragon, However I cant find their line-up either.

Anyways. Sarthe 1000 miles complete 200 points

Line Up 1

Fiat
Karman
GSS
Marcos
S800
me (Nissan BLR-A '62) 94BHP

Blocked both Marcos and GSS for about 7 laps then the marcos dies. It is then left to me and the GSS. Thanks to the crappy Fiat holding up the GSS for 5sec or so about very 4-5 laps. I Pitted on L20 same as the GSS. It just happened that I was blocking leading up to the Pit and saw him vere to the right. I slammed my nissan in front of him and jumped the chicane in the pits.

I changed to N2/N3, (I did not know if the N3 fronts would last, and i knew this was the only pit stop i could do) **In hindsite the N3 could probably last 15 laps but i was not going to risk it**. I then got out in front of the GSS about 10 seconds. Lead then changed from 20 seconds down to .5 sec for the remaining 15 laps.

Fastest Lap 5:28.??? (thanks to the draft from the Karman approx 24th lap)

Hints that I can add.
* Use the Chicane cut before the start/finish line (like everyone else)
* I used slight sand (straight lining) going in-to the First right/left/right after start/finish (saves i think about 2 seconds)
* Draft any-one you can (even the fiat for .2 of a second)
* Try never let anyone pass you (unless, an example, you have lapped the Karman, and he passed you down the Main straight)

Fantastic job on 3/4 of a real PITA race series. Down to eight hours of blocking now, right? Now for Nurburgring! :scared: Not so easy, right? Hopefully you can find the lineup suggested by Han. These different PAL versions are confusing, aren't they? :boggled:

 Austin343, Yeah, Eight Hours of blocking left (:grumpy:).

Nurb 1000 miles - I haven't quite worked out what I am going to do with this yet. Maybe if i choose first line up, try to block the GSS and Marcos and follow the GSS pit stop strategy, Change to n2/n3 first stop (L8) I might be able to squeeze this one out. (you never know)

Or I might try holding out on pits as long as i can (probably lap 15-16) then pit once for n2/n3 and go for home.

:indiff: "mmmmm". I might have to think a bit more for this. I will keep all informed.
This may take a week or so, as I have promissed the wife some "quality time". GRRRRR and she knows, I am so close.

Close finish there OA, but a win nevertheless

AMG.

Thanks, I new it was going to be close (which is my pet hate, Spending three or more hours on a race to win by under 5 seconds) Although most of the laps after the pit stop, the start/finish line lead was about 7 seconds. Before the start/finish chicane lead was 1/2 a second. By the time lap 30ish came around I knew all i had to do was keep it on the road, as I still had 1/2 a tank of NOS left.

It turned out to not be that hard to block only the one car all the time. Nurb on the other hand having to block Two (Three if the honda catches up) for nearly FOUR HOURS :ouch:, is going to be another story.

2 Chevrolette Corvette C2
3 Nissan Fairlady 2000
4 Lotus Elan S1
5 Mecedes Benz 300SL
6 Nissan BLRA Sports Coupe '62 ( me )

Pit Stops 5, 10, 15, 20

Used NOS off the line to get in front of the pack by the time i hit "hatzenback". Then for the next 4 & 1/2 laps it was block the C2, as if you life depends on it. I pitted on lap 5 change to N3's all round. Got out of the pits 5 seconds behind SL300 and 15 second in front of C2. Thanks to the SL300, which I passed quite quickly, he held up the C2 for a couple of laps and I was able to squeeze the gap to approx 20 seconds before L10 pit.

I come out the pit 30 seconds in front of C2. The gap from then on would stay the same untill L15 pit. Gap went to 1 Min. Before L20 pit the gap was 1:30.000 ish after pit 1:50.000 ish By the time I cross the Finish line the 25th time the winning margin was 2:16.015 ish (as this was the last time I saw the Blue time on screen.)

Total Time for Nurb was 3 hours 42 mins (fastest lap sub 8 mins and 44 seconds , worst lap was the last with a time of 9 mins and 25 seconds, I got a little carried away and started celebrating a bit early.)

Hints-
-I cut the Esses (hatzenback)Thanks to AMG's Track Map for that.(it allows you to make the next left turn faster, that should give you about 2 seconds)
-The turns at the end of sector 3 (this is the well known Grass Cut)
-The Last turn of the last sector, before the pit entrance (doing this will allow always to do the turn in 4th gear and if well done in green/yellow tires it can be done in 5th gear).
- My N3 tyres were bright red by the time Pit comes around, but you are still able to put good times with them. (I think this car could run with out wheels, it is that good on crappy tyres)
- The C2 really struggles on it's 5th lap and would loose about 15 - 20 seconds for this lap.

So there you go, My take on the 1000 Miles series. I did them in this order which i think helps as you really get a feel for the cars handling with the first two races with-out having too much serious pressure from behind.

That's It I have it with this series, Punches the air in triumph.

YES, YES, YES, YES.

I think I'll add my humble findings on 1000 Miles! as well. I finished the easy ones today. Both lineups were within the first five for NTSC. I made basically random guesses on the power and weight setups for the first two races, figuring I could win them without exact calculation of perfect settings.

Opera Paris

Lineup (in finish order, if I remember it correctly):
Me in my Nissan Skyline BLRA-3 (N1/N2, 110 HP, 200 ballast at 50, all non-power and non-weight mods, Vash's suspension settings in post #36 autotranny = 4 (should be 3, I think))
Mercedes 300SL (+2.5 laps)
Mazda 110S (L10A)
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale (or was it the Duetto... doesn't matter much)
Toyota Sports 800
Fiat 500F

Finish time: 2:52 or so; fastest lap: 1'42.928 (on N3/N3)

This was tremendously easy. I used a bit of NOS to get in the lead on the first lap, and then blocked the Merc on the long straight every lap until it pitted at 19, and so did I, changing to N3/N3. From there it was clear sailing, although my pit strategy turned out to be awful. I could only really get 15 laps from the N3s, so I pitted at 35 for N2/N3. Then I decided to stop at 60 for two sessions of N3s. The red-orange N3s cost me much more than I expected, however, and I pitted at 78 having lost ten seconds on each of the previous two laps. Lesson learned! I went to the finish on another set of N3s, 2.5 laps ahead of the Gullwing.

Cote d'Azur

Lineup (in finish order):
Me in my Nissan Skyline BLRA-3 (stock 9000-mile power and weight, same suspension and tires as Opera, autotranny = 4 (can probably be 1 or 2))
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA (+1 lap)
Mini Marcos GT
VW Karmann Ghia
Honda S800
Fiat 500F

Finish time: 3:42 or so; fastest lap: 2'10.776 (on N2/N3)

I used three units of NOS at the start to take the lead, and maintained it at a constant <5 seconds over the Karmann, who was followed very closely by the Marcos and Alfa, for 20 laps or so. Then the stupid Fiat held me up for a lap and bunched us all up, allowing the Alfa to slip past the Karmann and into second. I then realized the Alfa was a lot faster than the Karmann and had to block quite a bit on the S/F straight and the uphill until it pitted on 31, as did I. I switched then to N2/N3 tires and pulled away 0.5-2 seconds per lap from then on. I kept the N2s as I pitted at 54 and 77. I lapped it on lap 95 as it got stuck behind the S800. So a pretty easy victory here too.

Sarthe II

Lineup (in finish order):
Me in my Nissan Skyline BLRA-3 (103 HP, 200 ballast at 50, N1/N2, all non/power and non-weight mods, same suspension settings as Opera and Azur, autotranny = 6)
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA (+55 seconds) (would be about 70 seconds but I ran the last two laps OLR-clean, just to say I could)
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale (+4 minutes)
Ginetta G4 (+1.2 laps)
Honda S800 (+1.8 laps)
Nissan Silvia CPS311 (+2.7 laps)

Finish time 3:10'50; fastest lap 5'19.485 (on N2/N3, lap 32)

I held the NOS down until I had gotten to the lead, taking the Dunlop shortcut, just past the Dunlop arch. I took the shortcuts at the first and last corners every lap. Until lap 8 or so, I had to fend off both the Ginetta and the GTA, with the Ginetta plowing into me at warp speed near Mulsanne every lap. I then had to block it all the way to the final chicane, with the GTA joining us before Indianapolis most laps. Then the Ginetta began to wildly outbrake itself in almost every corner from lap nine all the way to the end, as though it had permanently red tires. So I had to block only the GTA, mostly between Arnage and the Porsche curves. It finally pitted at lap 20, unbeknownst to me, so I stopped and changed to N2/N3 at lap 21, getting a bit of fuel as well. From there it was very easy, as I was 5 seconds per lap faster than before. I even lapped the Ginetta just after it pitted (for the first time?) at its lap 25. This race was dreadfully boring, but at least over fairly quickly. And this time, I did calculate the best power I could get. I was right at the limit of 200 points with 103 HP and 200kgs.

Nurburgring

Lineup (in finish order):
Me in my Nissan Skyline BLRA-3 (132 HP, 150 ballast at 50, N1/N2 tires, same suspension settings, autotranny = 5 (should have done 6))
Jaguar E-Type Coupe (+9.1 seconds) (would have been about 20 seconds but again I decided to do the last lap OLR-clean and without NOS)
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA (+1.2 laps)
Ginetta G4 (+1.5 laps)
Mini Marcos (+1.5 laps)
Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B (+2 laps)

Finish time: 3:48'49.5; fastest lap: 8'52.788 (on N3/N3)

This was much harder. I made it a bit difficult for myself, I think, by accidentally limiting myself to 123 mph, as well as choosing a lineup with a semi-rabbit. But I figured this one had no really weak cars and the Jag would either pit often or have a bad last lap. Plus, I only had to block one car. So I started by getting to the lead with only a unit of NOS (the Jag was held up) and blocked a lot for the entire rest of the race. Thankfully, I never really had to block in corners, only on the longer straights, and everyone else was much, much slower. I shortcutted all corners mentioned: esses at beginning, T3 corners, and end of long final straight. The Jag caught me by surprise by pitting on lap 4, which meant it had no red-tire laps. Since I missed the pit and saw it gaining 5-10 seconds on every long straight, I decided to stay out until lap 8. I switched to N3/N3 then, and while it was faster, I switched to N2/N3 at the next stop and for the rest of the race. The reason? The car was too twitchy with the ballast in the back and the grippy fronts, meaning the Jag could spin me out if it hit me hard (= race over). Plus, they were quite red by the end of the fourth lap :ouch: and I was having to block the Jag in the turns as well on that lap. Finally, I couldn't build up enough of an advantage to keep out of its range on the final straight on any of the laps, which meant it was going too fast to block properly and thus could get past more easily. So I continued in the same way, blocking, on the N2s, until lap 24, when it pitted and I (cunningly :sly:) stayed out and ran the last lap cleanly. Unnervingly, the Jag became quite a bit faster and significantly more aggressive (and thus harder to block) for the last five laps, but I stayed ahead the whole race except for a couple times it managed to get past. Then I just squeezed it and used NOS to get back in front quickly. I had about two-thirds of the NOS left at the end.

I'm glad to have this series done.

Qualify for all races. Power may be added without changing the A-spec total, but I havent' found the "magic number", and I was looking to spend as little as possible.

Race 1: Opera Paris
I finished this race with a full bottle, still winning by more than 5 seconds.

Race 2: Grand Valley
My launch was horrible, and I fall back to 4th by the time we enter the first hairpin. I regain 2nd, and I retake the lead as we enter the 2nd tunnel. On the final lap, I exit the final turn with the Esprit somewhat close behind me. I'm eager to use the bottle, but resist the temptation. The Esprit closes the gap to +0'00.359 as we cross the finish line.

Race 3: Circuit de la Sarthe I
Set Nitrous @ 10
I finish qualifying with 202 miles on the odometer, still with 322 SettingsHP. By the end of the race, I'm at 318 hp (219 miles). The bottle is DEFINITELY needed here, and even with it, maintaining the lead along Hunaudiers and from Mulsanne to Indy is VERY difficult. Chicane cutting is required for Dunlop and the Finish. On the final lap, the Esprit passes me just before Porsche, and I don't take the lead until I cut through the final chicanes. 0'03.309 MOV...

Race R Cote d'Azur
Set Nitrous @ 35
At the end of qualifying, I have 224 miles on the odometer, and 317 SettingsHP. I really didn't need the bottle for this one, but I used a bar while coming up the hill after the first turn on the first lap. Not the cleanest run, as I bump the walls a couple of times, but I stay off the bottle for the rest of the race for a 0'04.734 MOV. I finish the race with 237 miles and 314 SettingsHP.

Race 5: Nurburgring
I get another Oil Change to bring the SettingsHP back to 322. I set Nitrous @ 35 for qualifying, and back to 20 for the race. This race is the toughest of the series, as there are many long straights where the others will catch up, even with the bottle. Everything is going smoothly enough until I come through Pflanzgarten. I bang into the inside wall on turn-in, which leads me to bang into the outside wall, and I lose more than 3 seconds of the lead. The Speed 6 comes up on me just after crossing T9, and from there, it's a battle between it, the Esprit, and me.
I'm in the lead by less than a second as we begin lap 2. The Speed 6 and I get tangled up just before Schwedenkreuz, and the Esprit takes the lead from both of us! I go from -0'00.942 at T1 to +0'01.353 at T2! I pick up about a second through Adenaur-Forst, and I'm +0'00.471 at T3. I bang into the rear of the Esprit as we enter Drei-Fach Rechts, and take the lead as we both go into the outside grass, and I'm now -0'01.745 at T4.
I try to wallride Bergwerk, but I strike the wall too hard. I manage to hold it together, but both cars come close as we reach Mutkurve. I take it too wide, and go into the grass on the right. The Esprit passes for the lead again, leading at T6 by 0'00.042!!. I wallride Karrusell with much better results, passing the Esprit midway through. I grass-cut the knoll just before Hohe-Acht, and lead at T7 by 0'01.204.
The Esprit closes the gap to less than a second for the next two checkpoints. After I cut too thin of a turn at Schwalbenschwanz, I go off to the left side and have to slow down considerably to finish the turn. The Esprit bumps me from behind, and I manage to keep the lead heading into Kleine-Karrusell.
From there, it's all about blocking. I'm only -0'00.127 at T10, and -0'00.124 at T11. I hold the lead from there, as the Esprit goes into the grass for the last turns at Hohenrain... MOV 0'03.595 to the Cerbera Speed Six.
FUN STUFF!!

After carefully wearing out and tuning my BLRA-3 for the Sarthe round the 1000 miles, I set down to test as many grids as possible before attempting the race. I'm on NTSC NA. When I reached the ~69th grid and found the wayward Ginetta, and very slow Silvia, Toyota S800, Skyline Deluxe1500 and Fiat 500F were actually worth 200, I knew instantly my ship had come in, and hit the gas pedal.

Horsepower 101 before and after, 113kg ballast, N1/N3, geared 4.22.

For the first few laps, I blocked the Ginetta on principle, but often he would slip by inside on the grass or simply powering around the outside. Everytime afterwards, he would soon spin deep into the sand, often going head-on into the barriers, and be behind again. By lap 14 he was permanently behind. I pitted on lap 18 for N3's and a dash of fuel. MOV was over 3 minutes, and the also rans lapped many times over. Fastest lap 5:25.389

Complete setup notes can be found at the GTVault, setup 6725, but this grid was so straightforward to defeat, I'm fairly confidant it could be done by something other than the BLRA-3.

I finally decided on using the BLRA for my gamesave. For the World Classic and 1000 Miles! events, I was originally planning on using the Cobra, then I looked into using the 117, then the Bellett, then the CSP, then... I decided on the BLRA since it can win 200 pointers in both of these events, as well as for its OMR. The same couldn't be said for the other candidates, so my choice became clear.

I bought a chip for this car, and I only used it for the Nurburgring Practice session, upping the ballast to check how it ran... It required ~130 ballast to still be eligible for 200 points (with 96 SettingsHP), and I didn't notice my lap times getting better. I took it off and kept it off for the remainder of the series (I knew I'd be needing it for the OMR anyway).

Since no one else seemed to use a brand spanking new BLRA (0.0 miles), here are the settings I used to sweep the 1000 Miles! event.

My Pits (2): End of Lap 8 (N2/N2, No Fuel); End of Lap 16 (N2/N2, Fuel to 40)

Dirty Driving: Crash-turn Hatzenbach, Grass-cut through Hocheichen and Adenaur-Forst, Blocking at Mutkurve, Crash-turn Karussell (NOT wallride), Blocking between T10/T11..

I hit the Nitro coming out of Bergwerk and Galgenkopf for laps 7 and 8, well ahead of the Mini after it goes in for its first pit. Not being able to block it, I felt it necessary to ensure that I'd come out in front of it, even if I had better tires mounted out of the pits. Things worked out well, and I came out ahead of both the GTA and the Mini, and began to pull away from there. I saw many posts of people who start with N1/N3, but my driving style is too harsh on the rears for that to work.

The GTA finished 2nd, and was just past T11 when I crossed the line, posting a 31 second deficit.

Race 2: Opera Paris
Qualified P1 94 SettingsHP, N1/N2.
Race Settings: 94 Settings HP; N1/N2; Tranny @ Auto 5 (default); 32 Ballast @ 0; Nitro @ 25
My Pits (1): End of Lap 49 (N1/N2, No Fuel)

Dirty Driving: None, other than Opponent Bashing/Scrubbing.

The Mini goes from 2nd to 3rd before the race starts. It, and the S800, hold back the GTA for the first 10 laps, but I'm already about 15 seconds ahead at that point. The BLRA (with this setup) can run in the low 1'50s, which means it can gain time on the GTA on each lap. The GTA pits on lap 48, I go in on lap 49, and still come out with a 25 second lead. I drive quite sloppily from there, but end up winning by around 40 seconds.

Race 3: Cote d'Azur
Qualified P1 94 SettingsHP, N1/N1.
Race Settings: 94 Settings HP; N1/N1; Tranny @ Auto 4; 32 Ballast @ 0; Nitro @ 25
My Pits (3): End of Lap 31 (N2/N2, No Fuel); End of Lap 54 (N2/N2, No Fuel); End of Lap 77 (N2/N2, Fuel to 33)

Dirty Driving: Blocking while coming up hill (between Ste. Devote & Massanet)

The GTA makes a very long first stint (which is why I chose to start with N1s for the rear), and goes in at the end of lap 30. I hit the Nitro when I see the message come on screen, to help make sure I can come out ahead, and pit on the next lap (31). After switching to N2s, I went from running in the 2'14s to the 2'11s, picking up time each lap on the GTA. Towards the end of the race, I notice that I still have plenty of bottle left, and try to put the GTA to shame... MOV: 1 lap!
...

Race 4: Circuit de la Sarthe II
Qualified P1 94 SettingsHP, N1/N2, Nitro @ 50
Race Settings: 94 Settings HP; N1/N2; Tranny @ Auto 5 + #6:0.861; 32 Ballast @ 0; Nitro @ 10
My Pits (1): End of Lap 21 (N2/N2, Fuel to 50)

Dirty Driving: Drive-thru Dunlop and Final Chicanes; Plenty of Blocking, Scrubbing, and PIT attempts.

I juiced it the whole way around for qualifying, but I set it back to minimum and used it as sparingly as possible for the race. I wanted to save some for the final lap, so I wouldn't have to risk missing a block on the GTA. It was little relief to the 34 laps of keeping the GTA behind, but it felt good to not risk gettting spun for that final lap.

I was expecting the GTA to pit at the end of lap 21, but it came in at the end of lap 20. Having already passed the Pit entry, I knew I'd have to make some time. I juiced it from there, and exited the pits ahead of the GTA... good-to-go, with N2s front and rear. The race was much more manageable from there, but plenty of blocking was still required.

There a few times when I lost the lead, but I'd usually get it back within a couple of seconds. However, on Lap 17 or so, the GTA dives on the inside of me at Mulsanne, sending my left side into the dirt on the exit, and I don't pass it until I cut the S/F Chicanes. Even with that, we're side-by-side as we head into Dunlop for lap 18 with the GTA on my left, so I send him into the dirt for a spin. MOV 0'08.248...
.........................

PHEW! My thumbs are flat again, but now I have all the $Cr I'll be needing for a long time, and I've gotten one of the tougher and longer events out of the way... All for 200 pointers (59 in a row and counting (no RAM, no GSX))!

Thanks to everyone who've contributed to this forum. I wouldn'tve been able to do this without your help.👍:):cool:
