Evil Cars in GT4...

bucket of water
i think fwd cars are evil, then you give them more then 300HP.

fwd cars suck (except the orginal mini)

other then fwd cars, there hasn't been a car i can't master

Yes, I agree with Leonidae... Oh, really?

If you can master a Porsche 911 or an Alpine, then a front-wheel drive car should be a snap. It's basically the same driving style... get the rear-end out under braking, straighten out, and punch the throttle carefully.

Of course most FWDs suck with 300hp, basically because you can't change tire sizes in GT4. In real life, you stagger tire sizes on a powerful FWD to give yourself traction in front and to decrease understeer (by putting smaller tires in the back).

Before you say all FWD cars suck, take a Clio Sport 2.0 out on track, or even a Trial Celica. Before you cry foul about the Celica's Sports Soft tires, change them to Mediums. The effect of proper tire sizing on the Celica still shows through. It's an edgy mother, but it's a blast to drive.

I always found the 205 Turbo rally car, the fastest one with the massive spoiler - fitted with (i think) a stage 4 Turbo a handfull!

Been ages since i have played it so please excuse my ignorance to the exact model name! :)

Only if Callaway can be formed into Chevrolet Corvette... C5R btw (or is there a CR5? can't find it on google...)

To my knowledge, there is only a C5R.

Off topic, Chvey might be making a Z07 with 650 hp for $100,000. Nice!

I've been fiddling with turning the Ford GT into something worth racing. Unfortunately, if i ever have to brake and turn within a half second of eachother, I get intimately acquainted with the turn I just tried to leave.

Straight line braking should correct that.

The Subraru Impreza STi GD8's (post-bugeye) stock suspension is absolutely terrible on tarmac compaired to the EVO VIII. You have to invest for the sports suspension to get any respectable times out of the car, which puts the price right in EVO territory. Ok, it's not exactly evil, but I wasted 29,000 + 4,000 CR which could've went to a Spec C STi instead. :(

The Auto Union historical racer. I decided to do a free run at the Nürburgring last evening. The machine accelerates like a dream but it is so twitchy and unstable that it is almost impossible to keep her in a straight line...

However with precise and careful inputs she proves great fun to drive. Wish it was possible to drvie these "special cars" in normal races... :grumpy:

It's been rumored that it is availible to use regularly if you have the Greatest Hit's copy of GT4...only seen this once though.

About the GT40, I think it's awesome. Really good car with a little practice.

The OPTION Stream Z

The extreme lag with sudden turbo boost makes for interesting handling - it's a handful even with TSC and VSC ON!

Having said that though, I'm finding it to be a spectacular drift car...

Nope I had to buy the platinum edition when my original CD started giving me the red spinner all too often. No such thing...

Alpine A310. I eventually gave up and B-specced it, and I never bothered to drive the A110 I won from the Alpine race. I could not complete a lap in Tokyo with that car.

Just slap a limited slip on that car and you'll have no problems. Just tune the inital somewhere around 20-25, the accel about 30 or so, and the decel around 40.

Can pull off some pretty lurid drifts, but is easily controllable

So far, the Alpine A310 1600VE for me... Fun little car, but I notice only Mr. B-spec can actually win races with it.
dont tune it all the way. just put on a muffler/air cleaner, racing chip, port polish, and nitrous and you can get that car to do well.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean which is why I made sure to take on the JGTC competition with it in pro mode. It was hard, but I pulled it off. I had the JGTC Z car on my tail the whole time. The biggest problem with the Stream Z IMO is that you can't adjust downforce on it, which is it's biggest killer at Nurburgring. Then it's heavier then your normal race cars. Also, the extreme lag you speak of is nuts. I really think it was meant to be a drift car.

Why add power to something that already has handling problems... Get the car under control with the power it has and you wont need to be any faster in a straight line. I blew the field away at all the events with only a limited slip and an oil change.

And the Option Stream Z... was a car built for Nevada's Silver State Challenge. The editor of Option magazine was driving and it blew out a tire which caused a very spectacular off-road excursion at around 170mph... the car was traveling around 210 when the tire blew, and he managed to slow it down somewhat before going off-road. I'll see if i can't find a video of it on YouTube quick...

Wow... kinda hard to find. The only picture i could find of the aftermath

http://www.silverstateclassic.com/results-03-sscc.htm the second DNF in unlimited class is the Option Stream Z

Hmmm, very interesting.. Thanks for that info. I was under the assumption that PD made the car up for GT4 after I couldnt find anything on google about the car other then it pretaining to GT4..

I had an Option DVD i got from some magazine, and it had the video of the Z as everything happened... unfortunately i don't know what happened to it. Had some pretty nice looking JGTC race queens in there too. ;)

I would have to say the most evil car in GT4 is the Chaparral 2J. Handles like garbage, WAY too light in the front because the engine is located in the back, and when on Le Sarthe 1 or 2 it has a habit of the hitting the wall :dunce:during the long straight when trailing behind a vehicle (making it have no downforce what-so-ever) after going over a bump. I'm never driving this car again.

These are my hated cars in the game...sorry to those who are FR fans and a 2J fan

The Chapparal 2J is not evil. Its fans create tons of downforce, but better suited to non-bumpy tracks, which is why you have to be careful at La Sarthe and the 'Ring. It is probably one of the best cars in the game. And, when you trail behind a vehicle, the vehicle infront loses downforce, not you. It's called physics.

The Auto Union Streamline is a great car, as I have already said so in the thread started about it on this page. Have a look at my comments on page 3 if you want to know what I think.

my Supra RZ, anywhere above 280mph I cant control it and always end up spinning out lol

Pardon me, but how the hell can that happen? At 280+mph the front wheels aren't going to get any sort of grip to take a turn, so how can you be changing direction enough for the rear to lose grip before the front? :odd:

Unless you are on a bumpy road I guess.

Actually, it is made to be a drag car, more specifically for standing mile drags.
